This is a very nice hotel but much better suited to families than a couple looking for quiet. The rooms are set very close and surrounding the pool so there’s a lot of noise on the weekends. (I have no issue with kids - this was my lack of due diligence reading former reviews.) Also having just come from an ocean view hotel in Santa Barbara which was as nice or nicer tan this one, we feel the hotel is highly overpriced.From$282

The hotel is ideal for taking a break here on Highway 1. The location is right on the pismo beach, facing the sea, and the surrounding area is a small town. It is very convenient to eat and buy small things. The motel looks simple, but it is new and the room size is good. Parking is valet parking, the price is included in the hotel tourist tax. The disadvantage is that there are no slippers. When we asked, the front desk said that many people had asked, so it was very strange since everyone has needs, why not improve it?From$210

I absolutely loved this place. The people who work there are fantastic, the location is great, and the firepit/overlook area makes it all worth it. I stayed at Spyglass Inn with my 11 yo daughter, my cousin, and her 10 yo. The girls enjoyed the hot tub and pool and we really LOVED the fire pit area. It was so beautiful outside with the flowers, the view and walking path. We got to make smores and watch the sunset! We did have an incident with our initial room where there were a bunch of gnats or flies, but the hotel staff responded quickly and moved our room. This was a bummer because that room felt more updated and had partial ocean view. We ended up in a lower level room with a nice back patio. It wasn't as updated as the first room, but it was still nice and did what we needed it too, which was to provide us a comfortable place to sleep. The room was bug free and there was enough space for the four of us. I wouldn't say it was the best room we've ever been in but overall it was fine. There is a portable fan, wifi, small fridge, desk, and chair, drawers for clothes if needed, and a tv. The TV was terrible quality BUT who needs a tv while you're on vacation anyways lol Lastly, it was quiet for us. We had no issues with noise. They have a microwave in the lobby and some free refreshments (coffee, tea, water). You can also purchase snacks from them. We would stay again specifically for the customer service and the outside fire pit area. Also, parking was included which was very much appreciated. From$151

The food was not good. There were other guests smoking ********* both nights we stayed and the smoke lingered into our room. I was very disappointed that the hotel staff did not intervene and implement the no smoking policy they have posted all over the hotel. There were a lot of children staying at the hotel, it’s unfortunate that they had to be there with all of that smoke down halls across from the pool.From$139

The rooms are small but immaculate and the location doesn’t get better than this it’s literally 20 yards from the beach and 15 yards to the pier. We park our car and there are at least 50 restaurants within walking distance we never get back into the car. Every year we have come we enjoy seeing the gray whales or humpback whales. And watching the dolphins surf with the surfers in the evening. The staff are amazing and the manager Michael is wonderful. This is our fourth trip there and we are already booked for next yearFrom$103

Surprised by other daughter making a trip from Austin to celebrate with us. Patrick Corbo at the front desk was excellent, even though they said we could check in early and when we got to the room it was still being cleaned. Mathew took great care of our luggage and car. This is our fifth ”staycation” at that property and it just gets better and better. How do they do it?

I ask the front desk if they had an elevator to take luggage up and he said no, but he would give us a room close to the stairs, which was fine. I opened the door with my key and entered the room and the word smell hit. I went into the bathroom to check it out and their was hair not only in the shower, but in the window seal. I went to pick up the phone to call the front desk and the cord to the phone was broken so I could not use the phone. I called on my cell phone and told him what the problem was and he said that house keeping had gone home for the day. I ask so what are you going to do, he finally sent someone to clean the room. She came to clean the bathroom and we had to leave the room while she cleaned it. We came back in and the pillow case on the pillow was dirty, there were no extra covers, the bathroom only had bath and hand towels no face towels, no iron etc. The bottom line is, if you want to stay in a dump then stay here. No more Motel 6 for me.

|0.42km from city centerI get this was a cheaper hotel during the week, and weekends the price doubled. The location is great, walk to everything. There's a sign saying don't have your TV loud, especially after 9pm. And no guests after 9 pm. And the front desk is closed at 9pm. Yes, we could hear our neighbors' TV in our room, even though they weren't loud. So we had to turn ours on just to drown theirs out. Lots of spackling on the walls, needs to be painted. The front desk wasn't nice to us, at all. As if we made our keys not work on purpose. Not my fault if the keys don't work (twice in the same day), and not my fault if my key doesn't work at 9pm when the front desk is closed. Can't imagine if I had come in later than 9pm. No security/safety latch on the door. I tried a door stopper, didn't work. The worst is I thought I had a bad cold, coughing with lots of mucus, even though I took Sudafed during the day and Benadryl at night. As soon as I spent one night at home my symptoms have almost disappeared. I think the fan system has mold in it and caused my symptoms since I was breathing it all night. And you need the fan system either heat or AC to drown out all the noises. Since I read reviews here and some said the front desk was very nice I'm curious: were the reviews by people who actually stayed there? was the front desk profiling us and just didn't like us? I get it's a cheap hotel, I don't get the rudeness. Pay a little more and go somewhere else. I loved Pismo Beach and will probably go back, to a different hotel! Had I not had the congestion and breathing issues, I would have not reviewed this hotel, just not return. I don't want someone else to feel sick on their getaway and have my experience.
