This was a horse rescue barn that we have turned into a home on the inside, it still has stall doors in some areas. We have blackout curtains in upstairs and downstairs bedroom area to keep the sun out if needed. We love the sound of the rain on the metal roof and the sound of peace and quiet most of the time. We are on 28 acres and there are trails on the property great for walking, mountain biking or four wheeling, some are even wide enough for a Jeep! We are not far from many hiking trails, whitewater rafting, waterfalls, lakes, the Harrah's Casino in Murphy and downtown shopping in little mountain towns. Large windows upstairs are great for viewing wildlife, we love to watch deer and turkey from there. We also enjoy the escape from technology we do have internet via Starlink it is satellite based so bad weather may affect signal strength, we have very little cell phone reception on the property (depends on your carrier and you can log onto Wi-Fi for better cell service) No cable TV but we get many channels on an antenna and have Roku for streaming shows. We have a lot of movies, indoor and outdoor games so no one is ever bored. It is a great place to spend quality time with family and friends. We are extremely grateful that our cabin/Murphy/Cherokee County were largely spared bad effects from the hurricane - if you are trying to reschedule a trip to an affected area, or need a place to get away to, we are in full working order with internet, cell service, power, businesses largely open, etc. We would love to have you! Our thoughts are with folks elsewhere who were not so lucky.Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. My Mystic Mountain is all about the great outdoors and long range views! This home has not one but 2 gas fireplaces outside on the 2 decks along with a large flat screen TV and gas grill to make your time at the cabin perfect in every way.Upstairs, off the Master Loft, is a cozy hot tub made private by custom louvers. You can take in the gorgeous view while you soak.Pet friendly with permission; please ask about your pet.The spaceWhen you first step into this modern, rustic home, you will feel peace and be swept away by the gorgeous long range mountain views!This well stocked kitchen makes meal time a breeze. We have thought of everything so you don't have to. We even supply the coffee and condiments.The living room has a comfy sofa and recliner and a huge gas fireplace complete with large screen TV for your viewing pleasure.Each bedroom is fitted with a comfortable king size bed and large flat screen TVs. The Master Loft has a little nook perfect for morning coffee and taking in the view. Stunning views can be had from the upstairs deck as you soak away the city dust in our brand new hot tub.The downstairs bathroom features a large shower for you to enjoy and upstairs has a traditional tub shower combo for those who enjoy a tub bath.Guest accessThis is a whole house rental; every room and deck is there for you to enjoy. There is a gas grill on the deck you are welcome to use.Other things to noteThe house is located just minutes away from the Nanatahala National Forest with plenty of room for hiking, biking, and enjoying mountain life to the fullest. Just a little further is a lake for fishing and kayaking all for your enjoyment.The house is in Hideaway Hills, a gated community, back off the beaten path and 20 minutes away from town. It is a combination of a paved and gravel road but does not require a 4 wheel drive to access it. Our cabin is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest and borders the US Forestry Service Area, making it secluded, peaceful, and majestic! It is just a short walk from Lake Hiwassee, which is abundant in fish and wildlife. Enjoy the outdoors, sipping coffee or hot cocoa from the screened-in porch. Grill on the patio while watching the sunset. Sit around the fire pit, making s’mores and enjoying a glass of wine. Centrally located to the boat ramp, marina, dam, Historic Murphy, and Historic Blue Ridge. The cabin is centrally located in the Appalachian Mountains and close to lots of fun spots like local dining restaurants, historic downtowns (Murphy, Blue Ridge, Helen, and Blairsville), Lake Hiwassee (trails, fishing, boat ramp, marina, and dam), recreation areas and trails for hiking, 7 waterfalls, Harrah's Cherokee River Valley Casino, Nantahala Outdoor Center, gem mining, stables, farms, breweries, wineries, and much more.The cabin is tastefully decorated to truly immerse yourself in the experience. The cabin sits on a fairly level acre, allowing guests to enjoy the backyard. The cabin has fiber Internet! Each bedroom features a 43-inch TV, while the living room boasts a 55-inch TV. All TVs come with over 190 channels from DISH, and guests can stream services through their own accounts. There are tons of games available to play in the living room, screened-in porch, or yard. There is a selection of books to read cozied up in bed, by the fireplace, on the screen-in porch, or by the fire pit.Guests have the entire cabin to themselves. Guests will have easy access to the cabin via a smart lock; the code is sent to guests on the day of their arrival and expires at check-out time on the day of their departure. There is parking for two cars on-site, located in a flat, leveled gravel driveway.There are 3 owners' closets, a garage, and a shed that guests have no access to. Cell service is not guaranteed at our mountain cabin. If your phone has Wi-Fi calling, enable it after connecting to the cabin’s Wi-Fi to make phone calls. Please be advised that due to the cabin's remote mountain location and the surrounding forested environment, there is a natural risk of falling trees, particularly during high winds or storms. In rare cases, this may result in temporary electrical outages if power lines are affected. While such occurrences are uncommon, they are possible, and we encourage guests to plan accordingly by bringing fully charged devices and being prepared for brief power interruptions.
