This homestay is not in walking distance from city centre (3-4 km away). If you don't take ride share, you most likely need to take more than one angkot ride but doable. The location is very residential and quiet.
The check in was smooth. The owner was very kind and active on WhatsApp. Just mind the praying times where he might be away for a short while.
The place actually is a house with vacant rooms for guests. The rooms seemed to have been constructed to receive guests. It was well maintained and very clean. Wifi works well in room. A/C and hot shower were good. You have the garden but no other facilities.
Overall, I had a great stay at Op Samuel as a transit point between Lake Toba and Medan giving an opportunity to see Siantar a bit.SOLD OUT

I love everything about this hotel. This hotel is quite secluded, which makes it so calm and serene, away from city bustling. The view is very beautiful, oversee the lake toba and samosir island. The service is very great, the staff is attentive and very helpful. They greet you whenever they saw you. The wifi is fast and and accessible at different part of the hotel. The breakfast is delicious. I would definitely recommend people to come here.From$28
