We stayed at this hotel in Twizel the night before our helicopter glacier experience on Mount Cook. The hotel had just been renovated, so there was a slight smell of paint. It's run by a very welcoming elderly couple. It's also very close to the nearest supermarket, which was super convenient for shopping. The hotel had a great vibe, and we took lots of photos!

The lake water is like the water in Jiuzhaigou. There are many beautiful mushrooms in the forest.

Highly cost-effective, very beautiful town, you can see the beautiful snow-capped mountains from the restaurant, suitable for staying after the trip to Mount Cook. The toilet sink is super small, you can only wash in the kitchen. It is not convenient without a dishwasher. In short, it is worth staying.

The lodge is not far from the Mount Cook turn-off (on the main road between Christchurch and Queenstown), making it easy to find. It consists of individual wooden cabins, spread out in a small, unfenced green garden, offering convenient parking and a charming atmosphere. The cabins are well-equipped with cooking utensils (induction hob) and crockery, perfect for self-catering. There's also a large local supermarket nearby, which is very convenient.

The park is huge and very disorganised. The staff at the reception was very friendly and nice and the check-in was quick. When we arrived to our cabin the heater was on which made it nice and comfy. The cabin we got had 4 beds for 5 people (e.g. parents and 3 kids), but they all bunk beds and very very old. We had to split and sleep on separete beds as during every breath you take the bed is shaking heavily which intterupts the sleep of another person, especially if they are on a bed above/below you. That's actually very sad, considering that paid for the cabin same amount of money as we could've rent airbnb at Fairlee, but we wanted to try this holiday park specifically. All beds had a set of a clean sheets and towels, even though on couple of them I found stains (that are probably iremovable). The blanket we had on the master bed had cigarrete burned holes (or similar). The floor in the cabin was very very dirty, which made it pretty disgusting to walk on. We also had a TV that we didn't know how to turn on and a small freezer. The cabin itself as pretty comfy except for the dirty floor and dirty ceiling full of died insects. When I walked to take a shower I met about 4 girls that were checking the shower temperature, cause apperantely for couple of hours there was no hot water ONLY in the women section. Men's section in the same block had it. So we waiting, nothing happend and we all (5 women) had to walk all around the park looking for other shower blocks. Because it was past 6 and it's winter time, it was dark and for some reason the park doesnt have any outdoor lights. So I got lost on my way back and had to call my bf to meet me, because this place is like an ant nest - impossible to get through especially during the night time. With this girls we found another shower block that only had 1 single shower and we all had to wait in line. Btw the non working one had 4 showers, which is still very little, considering amount of people staying in the park. The shower and toilets looked very dirty and unmaintaited. The entry to the park had a code for cars that also stopped working, so at some point they just opened it for everyone to pass. So I wouldn't say that it worth to stay there for the money we paid.

Highly recommended! It's much better than the hotel we stayed at in Christchurch. The four bedrooms are enough for seven or eight people. The rooms are very clean, parking is convenient, and all the daily necessities are provided. You can find anything you can imagine, from seasonings to pots, pans, and utensils. The stay was excellent!

The new house was only available to customers in November 2017. The key should be taken at the holiday home near the city center. Ctrip is not clearly marked. It is recommended to read it on the website. The navigation is not allowed. In the place where the navigation is located, you can see that the small mud road in front of a row of red houses is about 10 meters away. The environment inside the house is very good, the facilities are very complete, only the unexpected, there is no inside, oil and salt sauce vinegar and electrical appliances, etc., is very complete. The hall is facing a farm, there is no end, there is a stargazing telescope inside, you can see the next town. Stargazing at night is very positive. In short, the facilities in the room are very satisfied. The only problem is that it is too remote. A house in the evening is still a little afraid of safety. Everything else is fine.

On a self-drive trip from Mount Cook towards Queenstown, we chose this motel for our overnight stay. Parking was convenient and check-in was a breeze. They took a 200 NZD deposit per room per night and even gave us fresh milk. The room facilities were incredibly new and spacious, and it even had a backyard (though not enclosed, so accessible to others). The washer-dryer combo was very convenient to use. There's also a large supermarket about 300 meters away.
