Very satisfied, the hotel staff was very quick to respond to requests! The front desk staff were also very helpful and friendly when I had questions. The best part is that check-out is at 12 PM, and the surrounding area is really well-connected for shopping, though there aren't many drugstores around!

This is a Meitetsu Inn property, so the rooms are on the smaller side, with typical Japanese unit baths. At night, the street below transforms into a vibrant, neon-lit entertainment district. The location is excellent, very close to Nagoya Station and Nagoya Castle, and right by Hisaya-odori Subway Exit 4, just a five-minute walk away. The breakfast on the first floor, though simple, is quite good. The restaurant offers complimentary tea and coffee all day (until 9 PM) and has a microwave. Vending machines are located on the 4th and 11th floors. There's also a self-service laundry. Amenities are available for self-service right next to the elevators on the first floor, facing the front desk. The front desk service was the most 'Showa-era' (old-fashioned, warm, and attentive) hospitality I've ever encountered – incredibly friendly. Perhaps because it was a Saturday, the price I paid seemed to be about double the usual rate. However, overall, it offers great value for money. Highly recommended!

This is my second stay at a Mitsui Garden Hotel, the last one being in Tokyo. The hotel chain consistently offers great service. This particular hotel is very close to Nagoya subway station, about a 5-7 minute walk. There's an underground shopping area right below where you can eat and shop, and a 7-Eleven across the street for breakfast or snacks. Within about a 5-minute walk, you'll also find popular eateries like Sekai no Yamachan, Isomaru Suisan, and Torikizoku, which is very convenient.

I had to choose this hotel near Nagoya Station during the F1 season because there were no other options, but it turned out to be surprisingly convenient and comfortable: a 1500 yen taxi ride to Nagoya Station; a 7-Eleven right downstairs; Patagonia just across the main road; a 6-minute walk to Nagoya Tower & Hisaya Odori Park; 8 minutes to Kato Coffee; and 15 minutes to Montbell/Mitsukoshi Department Store/LACHIC. The room was tiny with no closet, making it difficult to store luggage, but all other facilities were fine. The public bath on the 14th floor and the breakfast on the 2nd floor were delicious, especially the udon noodles, hitsumabushi (three ways to eat eel), red bean toast, and siumai.

This was my second stay at the Meitetsu Grand Hotel, and it's incredibly convenient for traveling from Takayama to Nagoya. I arrived at the Meitetsu BC bus station in Nagoya via highway bus, which is located on the 3rd floor of the Meitetsu Building. The hotel's front desk is on the 11th floor of the same building, so it's practically zero distance! However, the shopping mall in the Meitetsu Building closed in March this year. I heard that this building, which has been operating for seventy years, is going to be redeveloped. I hope the renovated Meitetsu Building will be just as convenient! Currently, the Meitetsu bus still operates from the 3rd floor. To get to the unagi (eel) restaurant, [Sumiyaki Unafuji Shirakabe Bettei], which was recommended by Michelin, you can take the elevator down to the 3rd floor for transportation. My room was on the 15th floor, and I enjoyed the view from the window every morning and evening during my three-night stay. I forgot to take night photos, but it was beautiful! The hotel's front desk staff were excellent and very accommodating. This time, there was even a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, who provided a lot of help to us Chinese-speaking guests.

This is a local Japanese hotel chain. The facilities are decorated in a Japanese style. Although it opened many years ago, it's still very comfortable overall. The rooms aren't huge, but they have all the necessary functions. For dining, the hotel has buffet, Japanese, Chinese, and French restaurants on the first and second floors, and the quality is consistently good. The location is very convenient, not far from the Sakae shopping district and the subway station. There's also a direct bus from Chubu Centrair Airport (NGO), so everything you need for food, drinks, and entertainment is within reach. The service was excellent. Although there was a slight hiccup where our luggage was taken by mistake after we checked it, the hotel staff quickly arranged to retrieve it, and it didn't cause any delays.

This was my second stay, and it was nowhere near as good as the first. During check-in, the front desk lady asked some inappropriate questions. (As a Japanese person, usually excellent at reading the room, her low emotional intelligence really surprised me. She asked my husband who he stayed with two years ago! I was stunned. My husband and I have been married for 7 years, and to ask such a sensitive question right in front of me? It's not appropriate, even if she meant it as a joke. Oh well, maybe she thought I didn't understand Japanese.) I'd heard that Japanese hotels like to put Chinese, Koreans, *********, etc., on the same floor, and this time it actually happened. Koreans to the left, ********* across the hall. I can usually ignore subtle discrimination, but when the people across the hall were checking out, they opened their door to pack their luggage (around 8 AM) and let their two kids run around the hallway, screaming. I couldn't take it anymore, so I opened my door. Oh, turns out the parents and hotel staff were all out there, just watching without saying anything. Fine, I'll do it myself. I yelled at them three times and stared them down until they left. The staff pretended not to notice the entire time. I'm too lazy to complain, and I won't be staying here again. That's that. (Because I didn't have any other plans for the day, I had intended to sleep in until check-out and just relax in the hot spring.) All the cleaning staff were from Southeast Asia (no discrimination intended, but the cleaning wasn't as thorough as it was two years ago, though still acceptable overall). The room facilities were the same as before. The bathroom needs renovating; the showerhead is terrible, and the toilet is also pretty bad. To be fair, the bedding is still excellent. At this price point, just stay at a Marriott, folks, trust me!

wonder there are only 2 elevators for a 13-floor hotel, it’s a long waiting at anytime and it stops almost every floor which makes a in/out about 3-4 mins. The room air conditioner control is only japanese language, not a user friendly one. A 10/F window room but completely no view due blocked by an external cover, really didn’t expect it’s like a window room was nothing to see.

An old-school Japanese ryokan. While the facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained. The onsen (hot spring) is definitely the highlight, though it's a shame there's no outdoor bath. It's mostly locals staying here, which creates a really nice atmosphere.

Last minute booked this hotel with onsen as this accommodation is the nearest to Nagoya station then. But it is still a 12 min walk from Meitetsu Nagoya (where you take the train to airport). Onsen is very small with 4 washing cubicles in the female. Amenities provided within the onsen are also limited eg 1 hair dryer with no seat. But the hot water relaxed the muscles after 1 day walking. I booked a bigger room that is meant for 2 to 4 pax. Comfortable stay, return your unused toothbrush and toothpaste in exchange fo a small treat. Welcome drink until 8pm is a plus point.

A great location for visiting around the city - several subway stations are within a few minutes walk in different directions and some attractions like the science museum and Central Park shopping area are close enough to walk as well. The room size was decent for Japan with a nice chair and desk with refrigerator and big tv in the room and enough space for luggage and to walk around the bed. The amenities and snacks provided in the lobby were very convenient and there are several convenience stores nearby. The breakfast buffet had many choices and the main dishes changed every day of our three day stay but I would say it was more Japanese dishes than western. The staff were very friendly and spoke English and the WiFi was ok although a little slow at times. I think this was a great value and location and would recommend it and stay again next time I come to Nagoya.

I'm a solo traveler. This business hotel, while quite affordable, offers a very decent experience. They provide tons of amenities for free, and even free popsicles, tea, and drip coffee (also quite good). Everything inside is very clean and feels quite new. Everyday cleaning service is available on demand, or just a new set of towels and bottled waters with slippers. The men's sento (public bath) isn't anything exceptional, but good to have. The staff is nice and helpful, English is basically fine too. They also let me store my luggage after the checkout for several hours. Overall, I couldn't find any notable flaws during my stay, perhaps it's just that it's not as close to any subway stations as I'd like it to be.

The humidifier box in the air purifier was quite dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. For breakfast, only the chicken wings and unagi rice were good; everything else was nothing special. Before booking, I was told there would be children's toys and puzzles, but upon arrival, the front desk said they only had picture books. As for children's shower gel and baby bottle cleaner, you had to call the front desk to have them sent up. The staff's service attitude was very good, though. The facilities were comfortable and clean. The bed was relatively short/tiny even for a short person like me (153cm). I really liked how the staff would ensure that lights would be closed by 10PM. Staying near Nagoya station meant that there were bus terminals and every train type to access to easily. I also really liked the free flow for drinks (coffee/tea/water hot&cold). There were bowls and utensils to use for food as well. While staying on the highest floor, having an elevator was really nice. Despite this my stay was quite inconvenient. All of the amenities cost 50-600¥. I had to rent a towel and after checking out the baggage storage was 600¥ to store from 10AM-11PM. When I arrived at 1PM to check in or at least leave my luggage, the hostel was closed. Luckily the accommodation was only 7min away from Nagoya station and I could leave my luggage in the coin lockers. One really inconvenient at least for the ladie’s dorm was the baggage corner and the size of it. It was not allowed to keep bags within the bedroom (understandably). However I had a lot of baggage and the baggage storage corner within the same floor was really tiny and cramped. I used double the time than normal to unpack and repack because I had to bring stuff that I needed for shower and to the bed. At the same time I had to dodge people coming in and out the whole time. For some reason in the morning the bedroom door was kept open and I don’t know if it’s part of the rules, similar to the switching off the lights at 10PM. I’ve had a more convenient stay with similar cost in other places in japan with free amenities. This was really disappointing :/

Very comfortable bed and pillows I love it so much. It felt ok for me and my friend (both female) to walk back to hotel from the station at night. A couple of drinking places nearby so it’s very lively at night. I might be hesitant to stay in the area if I was alone though. But with friends it’s fine! The biggest plus is the location. As a solo female traveler visiting Nagoya for the first time, I felt very safe. It's only a few minutes' walk from Nagoya Station, and there's an LV store right downstairs. The area reminds me a bit of the shops above Guangzhou's Taikoo Hui. There are plenty of dining options nearby too. However, I had to request housekeeping; my room wasn't cleaned until the fourth day. I later found out it was because I hadn't hung the 'please clean' sign on the door. Other than that, everything else was fine. Hotels in Japan at this price point tend to be on the smaller side. The complimentary breakfast from the bakery downstairs was nice – a donut, a croissant, and a drink every day. It's definitely better value than buying it separately. If you're traveling solo and prioritize safety and convenience, this hotel is a great choice.

The hotel was very well kept and offered a pleasant overall stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when we requested rooms close to each other or on the same floor. They were also helpful in receiving and handling our luggage. The room was spacious and comfortable for solo, and the bathroom was equally well designed and relaxing. The hotel is conveniently located about a 5–10 minute walk from JR Nagoya Station, making it easy to get around. There are plenty of food options nearby, along with an underground mall directly below the hotel and a convenience store just 2–3 minutes away, which adds a lot of convenience. One minor drawback is the limited laundry facilities—there are only two washing machines for the entire hotel, and a full wash-and-dry cycle takes around two hours. However, it is possible to check the machine status online, which helps with planning. Overall, it’s a comfortable, well-located hotel with great service and convenient amenities, with only a small downside regarding laundry capacity. Considering Tokyo's accommodation prices and standards, this place was an absolute steal! I wish I'd known; I would have taken a late Shinkansen and stayed an extra night, saving myself 500 yen. Pros: The price was right, and the decor was lovely. From what I saw, it seems to be considered a 4-star in Japan. The service was very warm; staff greeted you upon entering and leaving. There was a welcome gift, complimentary drinks and coffee, and a microwave for heating food. Plus, free access to the public bath – a shame I arrived late and was too tired to go. The interior had a nice, distinctive style, and there was an air purifier in the room. It's not far from Nagoya Station, and right next to the Meitetsu Department Store (main building, 9th floor), which houses several of Nagoya's characteristic old restaurants, though there might be a queue. Cons: It's a bit of a walk from Nagoya Station, a good 10 minutes that requires a bit of navigation. If you're coming from the airport, it's an extra 3-minute walk from Meitetsu Nagoya Station, but once you're familiar with the area, it feels quite close. Overall, highly recommended.

The location right next to Kanayama Station is super convenient for getting around (I prefer it over Nagoya Station and Sakae). However, because of the single-pane windows, even on the 18th floor, you can still hear the train. Luckily, the noise level stays under 40 decibels, so it won't wake you up. There's also a shuttle bus nearby that goes to the Aeon Atsuta store. From the window, you can see an Aeon store, distant snow-capped mountains, and a little figure holding an umbrella on the roof of the building opposite. The twin beds can be pushed together, but there's a bunch of wires and equipment under the nightstand that prevents it from moving completely. This leaves a gap of about 20cm between the bed and the wall at the head, which is fine for a family of three to sleep comfortably. The mattress is a Simmons, and it's quite comfortable to sleep on, though the pillows are a bit too narrow. The bathroom looks a little older than it actually is, but it's perfectly functional.

Very close to Sakae Station and the Bus Terminal, but if you have a heavy carrier, the walk may be lengthened to an extra block due to a lack of elevators on the nearer side to the hotel. Interesting style of a sliding door between the bedroom and hall/powder room area.  No tub, only shower booth with shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. Free coffee daily from 7am to midnight, with breakfast cereal in the morning, and some tea bags. Downside for smokers is, no smoking area in the vacinity. One can smoke at the 7/11 couple of blocks away. One can get a portable ash tray and smoke outside the hotel building.  There seems to be bike rental service available, which I never got to.

GGuest UserVery close to Sakae Station and the Bus Terminal, but if you have a heavy carrier, the walk may be lengthened to an extra block due to a lack of elevators on the nearer side to the hotel. Area near to station and nearby got few nice restaurants for both breakfast and dinner. There parking lots nearby also but expensive if parked whole night till morning.. There is a simple Japanese sake cafe with simple Japanese home cooked to go along with sake/beer or wines (just diagonal across the hotel as per hotel) open by Japanese owner and a ********* staff working inside. Friendly and home feel with many other Japanese inside..

This hotel is really easy to find, about a 10-minute walk from the station, and the front desk is on the second floor. The area right downstairs is super lively with tons of restaurants, bars, and karaoke places. It's great value for money too! The transport links are excellent, everything you need is right there, and there's a Takashimaya department store at the station. Perfect for tourists and anyone looking to do some serious shopping.

Satisfied with this Japanese city hotel – great location and surprisingly well-equipped for its size. The service was also excellent. We got a good price during the off-season, which made it a fantastic deal. It's only a five-minute walk from the Nagoya Shinkansen exit, and about ten minutes to Meitetsu Nagoya Station. There are tons of dining options nearby; I highly recommend an izakaya called 'Daikoku' – their grilled dishes are superb! (They don't take Alipay, only tap-to-pay credit cards or cash). The underground area of Nagoya Station also has many restaurants and clothing shops to explore, plus a currency exchange office (the hotel reception has a pamphlet about it – grab one, or you'll get lost!). Behind Nagoya Station, you'll find Takashimaya and Meitetsu Department Store. All in all, extremely convenient. Beyond the official tourist brochures, the hotel lobby also had recommendations for local cafes and eateries from the staff, which felt very thoughtful. Nagoya truly is an interesting city worth exploring. One minor drawback: the bathroom drain was very slow, so I wouldn't recommend taking a bath unless you're prepared to wait until the next day for the water to drain.

Location is excellent. Near metro and plenty of restaurants and convenience stores downstairs. Only downside is its in the adult entertainment area. But the ladies carrying the advertisements left the tourists alone. Other than that you would not notice you are in an adult entertainment area

The room is spacious and well equipped. It's a bit far from Nagoya station and not many buses around the hotel. It's a bit inconvenient. There's shuttle bus available in the morning on weekdays. Longer service time on weekends. Maybe the hotel is busy, the lounge staff wasn't too friendly. I have short hair but I found a long hair on my bed under the blanket. The bedsheet has some black colour fabric fibers but I wore light colour pajamas.

The hotel has a new and an old wing. My discounted room was in the old wing, so the facilities were a bit dated. Nevertheless, the Meitetsu property was still very well-equipped with everything I needed, and it was spotlessly clean. Its proximity to Kanayama Station made visiting the aquarium very convenient. The front desk staff were also very friendly.

The room was clean and comfy. Staff were really nice and friendly. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast as well, like homecooked food, very comforting. And I love that they provided a warming eye mask free of charge everyday! It came with the towels. Excellent service!

Pretty close to the Nagoya station at a reasonable price. They offered little early check-in, prior to the scheduled check-in time at 3.
