Going to Changgang to see the fireworks meeting, in order to facilitate booking in Niigata, about 10 minutes walk from Niigata Station, the hotel equipment is old, but very clean, and because of the old, the room is much larger than the new hotel. not bad

The Fujiya is set in the Iwamuro spa area. The accommodation is typical Japanese but regular beds can be provided, if so desired. The food is first class and so are the facilities. There is a beautiful garden attached to the property. If relaxation is what you are after, this is the place. I'm sure that my blood pressure dropped 10 points during my visit. It is surprisingly inexpensive though everything about our experience was luxurious. The surrounding area is quiet and somewhat rural. Good restaurants are within a short walk if you wish to try something different from the hotel offerings. The breakfasts are also pretty decent. Definitely a good experience all round.

Not far from Jr Niigata Station, there is Shinano River nearby, and the cherry blossoms at 2019.4.10. are separated by five. The waiter's attitude is consistently good and the room has always been the standard. Yes, praise!

Three parents, a mother, a high school boy, and an elementary school boy suddenly decided to stay during consecutive holidays, so I really wanted a non-smoking room, but it wasn't vacant, but the queen's bed + loft bed was good and I smoked. I decided on a room that was acceptable. When I called in advance, he said that he would take care of deodorizing. Arriving in the room, I didn't mind the smell at all It was very clean, I and my kids could sleep well and wanted to stay at this hotel again.

The location is good for relaxation as many farms and fields are around the hotel areas. However, it is just 45 mintues drive to the Niigata Town. Their staffs could not speak English, so maybe their target customers are mainly Japanese. Although they do not speak English, they tried hard to use the translator to communicate to the foreign guests. Their room is a bit old maybe we ordered the old tower room and their breakfast is buffet style, but we did not expect much as their price is reasonable. I liked their public onsen areas, it is big and tidy.

We've stayed here every visit to Niigata City for past 10 years and the experience is always outstanding. The rooms are always clean, well maintained, and consistent. The location is convenient to the Honcho and Furumachi areas of town. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Breakfast is great too with local foods. Super great value as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

In the Summer of 1874, there was a young Italian Pietro Miorele who came to Niigata with a French circus group upon the opening of the port. Miorele was badly injured in an accident and was left behind by the group, but he got hired by a local Niigata circus group after he recovered. The prefectural governor at the time Kusumoto Masataka was impressed with his story and provided some funds for Miorele to open a beef hotpot restaurant. The shop became prosperous, and Miorele was also called "Miola" by the locals. He was a popular person, later got married and living a happy life. However, the restaurant was destroyed in the big fire of 1880, and Miola wanted to return to Italy as a result. With the encouragement of the neighbours, at the present place of Nishibori, he built the first full-fledged Western restaurant in Japan then. The taste of an elegant Western cuisine in a Western-style building called "Italian restaurant" was such a great idea that it was praised as "Rokkenikon of Niigata" and became a vastly popular restaurant. Miola continued to contribute as a centre of new food culture to Niigata and returned home to a united Italy after more than 30 years in Japan. He died in his home city Turin on November 1920. There were various constructions and re-developments carried out throughout the years, and by 1976 the hotel started operations. After more than 100 years, the restaurant and the hotel continue to live "the taste of an Italian restaurant" as created by Miola. After parking in the underground car park (the ¥1500 parking fee had been waived for hotel guests) and a simple registration we checked in to Room 910, a Twin Deluxe Room of 34 sq. metres, with a 2-seat sofa and coffee table. The room is spacious and clean, maybe a bit dated but still offering good comfort and convenience. We didn’t choose to eat dinner in the hotel but had breakfast at the Marco Polo Restaurant. It was a buffet breakfast with typical Japanese and Western food. A special thing was that there were hand-rolls made by the chef on order, with a choice of three ingredients. The package rate (room plus breakfast for two) was ¥25,000. But I didn’t need to pay because I used my Relux points to redeem it.
