Batumi
📍 Place: Batumi, Georgia ✨ What it felt like: I walked along the boulevard as the sky turned from pale blue to warm orange. The mix of sea air and city energy felt refreshing without being overwhelming. It was lively, but still calm enough to enjoy at my own pace. 👀 What stood out: The long seaside promenade made it easy to walk for hours without getting tired. Modern buildings stood next to open green spaces, and I liked how the views kept changing—sea on one side, city lights on the other. People were biking, families were out, and there was a relaxed, social feeling everywhere. 💡 Exclusive tip: Start your walk just before sunset and stay a bit after dark—the shift from natural light to city lights along the boulevard is worth seeing both. ❤️ Personal feeling: It felt like a place I’d enjoy with family in the evening—easy walks, fresh air, and enough space for everyone to just enjoy the moment without rushing. #Batumi #Georgia #SeasideCity #EveningWalk #BlackSea #SlowTravel #travel2026#travel#couplestrip#thingstodo
Ali & Nino Statue
Last summer, my family and I traveled around Georgia and stayed in Batumi for a few days. This city turned out to be a revelation for us, and I am already looking forward to the next time we can visit. 🔸 Batumi has its own airport. You can also take a high-speed train from Tbilisi, which takes approximately 5.5 hours. Why should you visit Batumi? This city is perfect for those who love combining beach vacations with cultural discoveries, and gastronomic tours with natural beauty. The Batumi promenade stretches for 7 km. It features well-equipped paths where you can rent a bike or simply take a stroll while enjoying the sea views and palm trees. Along the promenade, there are many cafes offering ice cream and refreshing drinks. 🔸 If you prefer a beach vacation, it's best to visit between July and September. We were there in June, and the water was still chilly. To explore the city's attractions, you can hop on a double-decker Hop-on Hop-off bus. 🔸 Must-see spots: the "Ali and Nino" sculpture, the old town, the Alphabet Tower, the dancing fountain, and the botanical garden. Alternate active leisure with gastronomic delights 🍷 Batumi is the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, which boasts its own unique culinary culture. 🔸 Boat-shaped khachapuri with melted cheese, egg, and a piece of butter. Khinkali, soups, sauces, local wine, and chacha. Everything is incredibly delicious, and the cafes are very welcoming. In the evening, make sure to visit the dancing fountains and take a walk along the illuminated promenade. 🔸 I recommend staying in Batumi for at least 2-3 days. The best time to visit is from May to September. The climate here is humid and changeable, with frequent rain and wind.
Batumi
Batumi is a city filled with more skyscrapers than I imagined! 🌆 At night, the entire city sparkles with light, and combined with the coastal atmosphere, it creates a futuristic nightscape. ✨ They have a spectacular fountain show at night! And the prepared foods at the supermarket are delicious! It's so exciting to encounter such local food while traveling. 💛 Be careful, as many Georgian dishes use cilantro, so if you don't like it, be careful. 🥹 Batumi is a city full of unexpected discoveries, both in its nightscape and food, and even just walking around is exciting. 🌊💫

The climate is pleasant, and the cool Black Sea breeze is perfect for a leisurely stroll. 🌊 Transportation Tips From Tbilisi to Batumi, we recommend taking the double-decker train (approximately 5 hours). Second-class seats are 35 Lari per person, with three departures daily. The city is close to the coast, so walking and shared bikes are perfectly adequate. Taking a taxi (Bolt app) is about 5 lari for 3 kilometers, which is super cost-effective! 📍Peak Season The weather is most comfortable from April 6th 🈷️ to September 10th 🈷️, with temperatures around 20°, few crowds, and beautiful scenery, perfect for photos 📸 Personal Recommendations 1⃣️ Ali & Nino Moving Sculpture 🌅 (Address: Batumi Boulevard, by the sea) These twin 8-meter-tall steel statues symbolize eternal love, and they also feature a nighttime light and shadow show for a truly romantic experience! 2⃣️ Church of Our Lady ⛪ (Address: 25 Baratashvili St) Amazing! The Gothic-style stained glass windows are a must-have for snapping photos of your girlfriend. 3⃣️ Alphabet Tower 🗼 (Address: Near Nino & Ali Statue Park) Tickets to the summit are 10 lari. Reservations are required for the dome restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the coastline. Daytime views are more beautiful, as the glass windows can be reflective at night. 4⃣️ Botanical Garden 🌿 (Address: Mtsvane Kontskhi, Batumi) The largest botanical garden in the former Soviet Union! Over 100 hectares of tropical rainforest, a breathtaking greenery experience. 5⃣️ Argo Cable Car 🚠 (Address: 1 Gogebashvili St, Batumi) Departing from the port, you'll fly over the city and forest together—super cool! Recommended budget-friendly accommodations: Marriott/Hilton, located in prime coastal locations with infinity pools overlooking the Black Sea, around 800 Lari per night 😍😍 Batumi Food List 1️⃣ Adjaruli Khachapuri 🧀 Georgian cheese boat bread, freshly baked and beaten with egg yolk, with a creamy, stringy texture that's incredibly satisfying~ 2️⃣ Black Sea Grilled Fish Platter 🐟 "Heart of Batumi" freshly grilled mackerel with garlic sauce, bursting with seafood flavor! 3️⃣ Georgian clay wine, I recommend Saperavi dry red. You can try it at any small roadside bar; you'll really fall in love with its tart and fragrant aroma. Tips for Avoiding Scams 1️⃣ The minimum bill at the Alphabet Tower Restaurant is 30 Lari. For a truly scenic view, I recommend buying just the entrance fee. 2️⃣ Street vendors and guesthouses often accept cash, so be sure to have cash handy. 3️⃣ When taking a taxi, be sure to ask the driver to use the meter, or order a Bolt taxi. The airport to city center fare is under 20 Lari—a fantastic deal! Batum is truly dreamy.
