After exploring Tbilisi, we hopped on a train to Batumi—a city known for its sea, khachapuri, and tangerines 🌊🍊 I spent two days in Batumi, and here is how I spent my time: 🐠 Since we stayed near May 6th Park, Lake Nurigeli was our first stop. 🦀 We spent hours strolling along the Black Sea promenade. Turning onto Batumi Boulevard, we passed the dancing fountains and made our way to Freedom Square. ⛵️ Naturally, we visited the Batumi seaport to see the iconic "Ali and Nino" sculpture 🩵 Our second day was all about the Botanical Garden 🌱 where we feasted on kilograms of fresh tangerines, oranges, and lemons 🍋. The views there are absolutely breathtaking—a true feast for the eyes 🌊🌅 As evening fell, we took the Argo cable car up to Anuria Hill. It offers a stunning bird's-eye view of the city and is the perfect spot for sunset 🌇 Batumi is the capital of the Adjara region, so naturally, we spent two days indulging in authentic Adjarian khachapuri 🥚🧀. If you're putting together a list of places you dream of visiting, this is one of those hidden gems that definitely deserves a spot on it. In summer it feels especially good here: you escape the heat in the shade of the trees, and there are no crowds around. The maples are still green in July, but the atmosphere still takes you far away from Batumi. It's a perfect little escape that feels like a completely different world. They say the garden was created as a diploma project by a young architect named Solome. And this is one of those cases where a student's work became a real decoration of the city. It's proof that you don't need a huge budget to create something unforgettable. 📍 Location The Japanese Garden is on the Seaside Boulevard, near Shota Rustaveli University.
