#springtravel May is the perfect month for Georgia. The weather is warm but not hot, the mountains are lush green, and the Black Sea breeze makes everything fresh. We based ourselves in Batumi and took a train to Tbilisi for a couple of days – the best of both worlds. 🌿 Batumi – Where the Sea Meets the Mountains Batumi in May is magic. The famous Batumi Boulevard stretches for kilometers along the coast, lined with palms, cafes, and the moving Ali & Nino statue. Evenings bring spectacular musical fountains. Must-do in Batumi: · Queen Tamar Bridge (Makhuntseti) – a stunning 12th-century arched stone bridge over the Adjaristskali River, near a 50‑meter waterfall. A perfect nature escape 40 minutes from the city. · Batumi Botanical Garden – one of the largest in the former USSR, spread over a hillside with 5,000+ plant species and breathtaking Black Sea views. Entry 20 GEL. · Argo Cable Car – ride up the hill for a panoramic view of Batumi, the port, and the coastline. Best at sunset – 30 GEL round trip. · Petra Fortress – a 25‑minute drive from Batumi, this ancient cliff‑top fortress offers quiet, atmospheric sunset views. If you’re curious about local stories, chat with taxi drivers – Georgians love to share legends and history. 🚂 Tbilisi – A 5‑Hour Train Ride to the Capital The modern train from Batumi to Tbilisi is comfortable and scenic, winding through green valleys. In Tbilisi, don’t miss: · Mother of Georgia (Kartlis Deda) – the iconic 20‑meter statue on Sololaki Hill. Take the cable car from Rike Park (free) for amazing city views. · Old Town (Abanotubani) – narrow, winding streets with colorful wooden balconies, sulfur bath domes, hidden courtyards, and cozy cafes. Every corner is a photo. · Bridge of Peace – the futuristic glass footbridge over the Kura River, beautifully lit at night. 🍽️ Georgian Cuisine: Eat Until You Drop · Khinkali – juicy meat dumplings, eaten with your hands. · Khachapuri – warm cheese‑filled bread; the Adjarian version (with an egg) is a Batumi specialty. · Churchkhela – grape‑walnut candy, Georgia’s original energy bar. · Fresh seafood – in Batumi, try grilled fish, mussels, shrimp by the water. · Georgian wine – 8,000 years of tradition; taste amber Qvevri wine. 📣 Practical Tips for May · Weather – 17–21°C, pleasant, but pack a light jacket for evenings or rain. · Train – book Batumi–Tbilisi tickets in advance, especially near May holidays. · Budget – very affordable; meals 15–30 GEL per person. · Language – English is common in tourist areas; Georgians are incredibly warm and hospitable. May in Georgia feels like a secret you want to share – the sea, the mountains, the wine, the food, the people. Everything comes together to make you want to return again and again. 🇬🇪✨ #Georgia #Batumi #Tbilisi #MayTravel #Khinkali #Khachapuri #QueenTamarBridge #ArgoCableCar #MotherOfGeorgia #GeorgianWine

#February Destinations 2026 · Transportation: The city center is very small, and all attractions are within walking distance. It's only a 10-minute walk from the waterfront promenade to Europlatz. · Best Time to Visit: We recommend shooting at dusk, when the setting sun casts a warm glow on the glass buildings and historical structures. The nighttime lighting is also excellent. · Suggested Itinerary: You can connect Europlatz, Batumi Square, the Ali and Nino moving statues, and the Alphabet Tower into a one-day walking route to fully experience Batumi's diverse architectural styles.
Miracle Park
Around 7 PM, I visited the park near Batumi's Orbit Tower alone, and the timing was absolutely perfect! It was the golden hour as the sun began to set, creating a breathtaking view of the Black Sea blending with the towers. 😊 🌅 Key Points for Sunset Viewing First Spot - Miracle Park: Just a 5-minute walk from Orbit Tower, this park is truly the highlight! During the evening, you can observe Georgian daily life as local families and couples stroll around. You can also sit on one of the benches scattered throughout the park, watch the Black Sea sunset, and jot down your travel journal. Second Recommendation - Coastal Walkway: The walkway surrounding the tower is beautifully designed, making it enjoyable even when walking alone! The silhouette of the towers framed by palm trees and the sea is a must-capture moment for photos! 💡 Tips for Solo Visitors Visit around 7 PM to avoid the scorching daytime sun and enjoy the night view simultaneously—two birds with one stone! The magical moment is when the tower lights start to illuminate one by one. Grab a cup of traditional Georgian tea or coffee at a park café, and you'll feel like a local. 📸 Best Photo Spot: Near the central fountain in the park is the perfect place to take photos with the towers as your backdrop. The natural lighting during sunset is just flawless! ⏰ Recommended Time Allocation: Spend about 1.5 hours exploring leisurely. Arrive in time for the sunset to enjoy both day and night views. 🚶♂️ Practical Information Entrance Fee: Free (The park is open 24/7) The best time to visit is between 7-8 PM for the most beautiful scenery. The sea breeze is refreshing, so even in summer, bringing a light jacket is a good idea. 😊
