Summer Palace
📌The Summer Palace, also known as Yiheyuan Park, is the largest imperial garden in Beijing and all of China that has been preserved to this day. The total area of the park is nearly 300 hectares. 📌What to see? • The Renshou Hall Pavilion, located at the eastern gate. It serves as the centerpiece of the ensemble. This is where rulers conducted their state affairs. The pavilion is surrounded by black stones, symbolizing guards. • The Long Corridor. It connects numerous structures located on the northern shore of the lake. • The Tower of Buddhist Incense (Foxiangge). To reach it, you need to climb either side of the Paiyundian, pass through the Hall of Virtue and Harmony (Dehuidian), and ascend about a hundred steps. This temple is a true symbol of the park. From its grounds, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Zhuiyun Cang Palace. You can also marvel at the stunning beauty of the Bronze Pavilion, which required over 200 tons of metal for its construction. 🎫Tickets: 60 yuan/adult 🕐Opening hours: 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM. It's best to visit in the morning when many tourists are still asleep, and even the locals are not in a rush to relax so early.
Temple of Heaven
#chinaadventures If you’re in Beijing, you *have* to catch the Temple of Heaven under the stars! The night vibe here is literally jaw-dropping—seriously, it’s a whole different kind of wow than during the day. By day, it’s super grand and classic, but at night... it’s all about the mysterious, romantic feels. Especially when the moon is full and shining down on the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, those blue-glazed tiles glow like a dream. Picture “red walls, blue roofs, wishes floating”—it’s giving pure ancient fantasy vibes! You’ll honestly feel like you’ve time-traveled—so unreal and magic. Temple of Heaven is basically *the* icon of Beijing, so you won’t want to miss it! How to Get There & Pro Tips: 📍 Temple of Heaven Park (Tiantan Park), No. 1, Tiantan Road, Dongcheng District, Beijing 🚇 Hop on Metro Line 5 and take Exit A1 NW at Tiantan Dongmen (East Gate). 🚗 Driving? There’s a car park right at the East Gate. When to Go: 🕐 This legendary night view is available every Friday, Saturday, and on public holidays, whenever the city lights up the park! The moves: Arrive right before sunset, and you get both epic golden hour *and* blue hour pics. After dark, you don’t need a Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests ticket—just soak up the night vibes! Best Photo Spots: 1️⃣ Enter from the North Gate and walk toward the northeast corner of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests—play with the walls, moon, and tree branches for that iconic shot. 2️⃣ Stand in the middle of the north quadrangle, line up the Hall between the two trees on the northwest—total pro composition! 3️⃣ Hit up the west side of the Hall. Use the gate, moon, tree branches, and the Hall itself to get next-level shots. Feeling inspired? This place is sooo photogenic at night it’ll blow up your feed! The Palace Museum
Situated in the historic city, yet the hotel itself is stylish and modern✨ Amazing service: warmly welcomed at the reception, helped with my luggage, provided detailed recommendations on nearby attractions, and even confirmed my arrival time in advance to prepare everything for check-in. The room was impeccably cleaned every day, with thoughtful details😍 And the most special touch, upon my arrival, they printed my photos and placed fresh flowers in the room—honestly, this was the first time I’ve been welcomed like this at a hotel🥹 It was unexpected and incredibly touching! The location is another huge plus! You can walk to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the National Museum of China. Nearby is the pedestrian street Dashilar, as well as hutongs that capture the charm of old Beijing—surrounded by various cafes, shops, and authentic eateries! If you want to experience the atmosphere of old Beijing while staying in a beautiful, modern space, this hotel is the perfect choice✨ 📍 Qianmen Shan Hotel (前门扇酒店) Qianmen Street (前门大街), Beijing, China
Jingdong Shilinxia Tourist Area
Shilinxia Scenic Area (石林峡风景区) The hallmark of Shilinxia is the world's highest glass observation deck, which juts out into the void above a chasm. It is located about 400 meters above the ground. The platform is constructed from multi-layered tempered glass with a total thickness of several inches. Each panel can withstand loads of several tons. The name "Shilinxia" translates to "Stone Forest Gorge." These lands were known as far back as the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is said that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty visited this area to enjoy its wild beauty. The gorge is famous for its cascading waterfalls, which are especially full after the rainy season. You can take the easy route and buy a cable car ticket for the ascent, but I recommend hiking, as this way you can fully appreciate the beauty of the place. 🥵 The hike up the mountain took about 2 hours. It is quite a challenging route, as most of the path consists of stairs. If you have free time in Beijing, it is definitely worth a visit. 📍 Location: 2 hours from Beijing. 💴 Cost: We paid 64 yuan, including the transfer. Many companies offer day trips to this location.
Beihai Park
How to experience history and see a futuristic metropolis in one trip? Save this perfect itinerary! 👇 📍Day 1: The Spirit of the Old City 🐉 Immerse yourself in the past. Explore the hutongs—narrow alleys where traditional life still thrives. Stroll along the colorful pedestrian street of Qianmen: enjoy the architecture, browse the shops, and soak in the atmosphere of old Beijing. 📍Day 2: The Rhythm of the Metropolis 🏙️ Switch to a backdrop of glass and concrete. • Marvel at the scale of the CCTV Headquarters (nicknamed "The Pants"). • Snap stunning photos in front of Galaxy SOHO, designed by Zaha Hadid. • In the evening, head to the Sanlitun district to catch the city's pulse: it's the hub of nightlife, shopping, and entertainment. 📍Day 3: The Great Wall of China 🧱 A must-visit. My advice: choose the Mutianyu section. It’s far less crowded than the popular spots, allowing you to fully enjoy the grandeur of the wall and the breathtaking landscapes. 📍Day 4: Imperial Zen 🧘 Save the parks for last to unwind after an active itinerary. 🌿Jingshan Park: Climb to the viewing platform for the best panorama of the Forbidden City. It’s a great way to appreciate its scale without going inside. 🌿Beihai Park: A place of complete tranquility. Perfect for slowing down, observing local life, and simply enjoying peace before your departure. 📌 Read more about each location in my profile. Follow and save this post for your future travels! 🧳
Longqingxia Area
An incredibly picturesque place with almost no tourists ✅ ▪️How to get there? - Take the train to Yanqing station. (This is a charming town near the gorge) - We didn’t want to bother with buses, so we simply called a taxi from the station directly to the park entrance. It cost 35¥. - At the entrance, there are ticket booths where you can buy shuttle tickets to take you into the park. I recommend taking the shuttle as it would otherwise be about a 2km walk 🥹. The shuttle costs 10¥. ▪️Tickets. Park entrance + boat ride - 140¥ per person. The boat will take you deeper into the gorge, where you can walk back to a certain point and then hop on any available boat for the return trip. ▪️Food. - It’s better to eat in the town after arriving by train or bring snacks with you. Inside the park, we only found one questionable place to eat, and it didn’t seem very appealing. ▪️Time. We spent about 3-3.5 hours walking through the gorge, exploring everything at a leisurely pace, and riding the cable car. It took us about 2 hours to get there 👌🏻 I highly recommend visiting this place; it’s stunningly beautiful and almost deserted 😍
