[Trip Moment Delivery.🗞️] On this trip, I visited the Gedenkort Weiße Kreuze (White Kreuze Memorial), the place that most quietly commemorates the division and sacrifice of Berlin. 🇩🇪✝️ 🛄ㅣUnexpected white crosses encountered on a riverside walk Walking along the Spree River, I suddenly came across a space lined with white crosses neatly arranged along the railing. From a distance, it looked like a simple installation, but upon closer inspection, it became clear that this was a memorial to those who lost their lives crossing the Berlin Wall. Even without elaborate explanations, the space itself spoke to me. 🌿 Simple Forms: A Way of Remembrance That Resonates More Each cross is inscribed with the name and date of a victim, and the structure is incredibly simple. Perhaps because of this, the space and silence were even more impactful. The surrounding area was an ordinary riverside promenade, teeming with cyclists and walkers, but in this area, the air felt a little different. The city's everyday life and historical tragedy seemed to overlap. 🌉 A Past Borderline Overlapping the River Amidst the ordinary scenery of a cool breeze and the river gently flowing, a strange feeling arose when I remembered that this was once a borderline, a place marked by barriers, barbed wire, and surveillance. While the riverside now teems with people, these white crosses felt like they quietly held the weight of the past.
