Budapest
There are "beautiful" cities. There are "convenient" ones. And then there are those where everything comes together: architecture, atmosphere, prices, food, water views, nightlife, and a sense of scale. For me, Budapest was such a city. 🌉 A CITY THAT LOOKS LIKE A POSTCARD Budapest is divided by the Danube into Buda and Pest—and this alone makes it visually spacious and "double." Best spots: • Fisherman's Bastion Cost: free Best time: sunrise or sunset How long to book: 40–60 minutes The view of Parliament from here is one of the most beautiful in Europe. In the morning, it's almost empty, and the light is perfect. • Széchenyi Chain Bridge Cost: free Best time: evening How long to book: 30 minutes In the evening, the bridge and Parliament are illuminated—the city turns into a cinema. 🏛 PARIS-LEVEL ARCHITECTURE, BUT WITHOUT PARIS PRICES The Hungarian Parliament is one of the most impressive buildings in Europe. And there are many neighborhoods where you can feel the luxury of Paris and the style of imperial times. Budapest offers a sense of culture and atmosphere, but at the same time: • Housing is 2-3 times cheaper than in Western Europe • Restaurants are more affordable • It doesn't feel overcrowded with tourists ♨️ THERMAL BATHS – SOMETHING YOU CAN'T FIND IN OTHER CAPITALS Széchenyi Baths (I've been to others, but they're closed for renovations) Cost: ~$25–$35 How much to budget: 2-3 hours Best time: morning or evening Swimming in hot water under the open sky amid 19th-century architecture is a unique experience. And yes, this isn't a tourist attraction, but part of the local culture. Life hack: come at opening time or in the late afternoon—there are more people during the day. There are also a few less popular baths. 🌅 A CITY FOR WALKING Budapest is ideally explored on foot. • Buda Hills • Danube Embankment • Ruin Bars in the Jewish Quarter You can see a lot in 3 days without feeling rushed. 💰 PRICE/QUALITY — A RARE COINCIDENCE • A good hotel — ~$80-$100 • Dinner with wine — ~$20 • Coffee — ~$2-$3 Compared to Paris, Rome, or Amsterdam, it feels like "Europe at a reasonable price." 📌 MY CONCLUSION Budapest is: • architecture on par with major capitals • thermal baths • stunning views • reasonable prices • aesthetics and ease at the same time It doesn't shout about itself, but it's very memorable. If I had to choose one European city where almost everything is the same, for me it's Budapest. #Budapest #EuropeTravel #Hungary #BestCityInEurope #TripMoments #BudapestViews #Budapest #Europe
Budapest
#europetrip Kicked off the year with a trip to Budapest, thanks to my friend who arranged it for a group of us. Normally, I’m the type to meticulously plan every detail when visiting a new city, but this time, I decided to just go with the flow and see where fate took me. While I’m usually all about exploring as much as possible, the rest of the group was more about chilling and drinking as much as possible. Even so, I managed to squeeze in some sightseeing. Now that I’m back, I’ve realised how much I missed—there’s so much more to Budapest than just ruin bars. Guess that means I’ll have to go back…#europetrip #hungary #travel2026 #solotravel #budapest
Buda Castle
Wandering in Budapest is the move! This city is sooo underrated—seriously, it’s like Europe’s hidden gem. Picture this: sunshine blazing, Western-style architecture flexing everywhere, and cultural vibes that make you wanna snap pics nonstop 📸✨. First stop: Buda Castle, where you might catch someone strolling in Castle Square with those epic castle buildings as backdrop. (You gotta check it out for yourself! Address: Budapest, Szent György tér, 1014 Hungary. Open daily from 10:00–18:00, but tickets close at 17:30. Trust me, the views are 🤯!) Right nearby is the Fountain of King Matthias (Budapest, Szent György u., 1013 Hungary). It's open all day, all year—so just pull up whenever and live your fantasy of royalty 👑💦. I hit up the Soviet War Memorial at Liberty Square (Szabadság tér 14, 1054 Hungary), which is also open year-round. History buffs, this one’s for you, and trust me, the vibes here are deep. Don’t miss the Hungarian National Gallery! Address: Budapest, Szent György tér 2, 1014 Hungary. Open 10:00–18:00 Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays). Admission is about 175.82, and the art level is *chef’s kiss* 🎨. It honestly feels like walking through centuries of creativity. Liberty Square itself is the perfect spot for people-watching or chilling in the sunshine. It's open all day, so just swing by whenever you need a break from exploring. Finally, peep the Vienna Gate for those medieval feels and snap some cool photos. Every corner of Budapest brings a new flavor—seriously, the city is giving major main character energy! If you’re looking for a city that’s drop-dead gorgeous, super walkable, and packed with history, Budapest is IT. Don’t sleep on it—plan your adventure on trip.com and see why Budapest is the ultimate European surprise! 🌞🧡
Matthias Church
🏛️ Architectural Highlights: • Distinctive Colorful Tiles: The most striking feature of the church is its roof. It is adorned with colorful tiles produced by a renowned ceramic manufacturer, arranged in vibrant and intricate geometric patterns. Under the sunlight, it shines brilliantly and serves as the most recognizable symbol of the church. • Elegant Architectural Lines: The neo-Gothic spires and white walls complement the nearby Fisherman's Bastion perfectly. The overall composition is stunning, making it a must-stop spot for photos when visiting Castle Hill.
Budapest
🍁 Budapest 🇭🇺 surprised me once again… but this time, in the most beautiful way possible 💫 I’ve visited the city a few times before, but now it feels like I’ve completely rediscovered it — it shines, it’s clean, welcoming, organized, and full of life! ❤️ From sunsets over the Danube to the lights reflecting on historic buildings, everything feels straight out of a movie 🎥🌃 I don’t know if the city changed or if I did, but one thing I know for sure: I love Budapest more than ever! 🇭🇺✨ Ahh, and by the way, Hungarian is said to be one of the oldest and hardest languages to learn in Europe — it’s not related to any neighboring language! In fact, it’s more closely related to Finnish and Estonian than to Romanian or German 🧠✨ Did you know that? 🤭 #travelwithramonessa 🌍 #BudapestVibes #CityOfLights #HungaryTravel #CityBreakGoals #TravelDiaries #UrbanEscape #Wanderlust #LoveBudapest #EuropeanGetaway #TravelAddict #CityLover
Fisherman's Bastion
A day in Budapest feels like walking through two different moods of the same soul. Divided by the Danube, Buda and Pest each tell their own story — and the best way to understand them is simply to stroll. Morning begins on the Buda side, climbing gently toward Fisherman's Bastion. The fairytale towers overlook the river, with the magnificent Hungarian Parliament Building standing proudly across the water. From up here, the city feels grand, almost cinematic — rooftops glowing under soft sunlight, bridges stretching gracefully across the Danube. Crossing the iconic Széchenyi Chain Bridge on foot is a must. With every step, you feel the heartbeat of the city — trams passing, boats gliding below, and the gentle rhythm of daily life unfolding. By afternoon, Pest comes alive. Cafés buzz, grand boulevards stretch endlessly, and history reveals itself in every façade. And if time allows, a soak in the warm outdoor pools of Széchenyi Thermal Bath is the perfect pause — steam rising into the sky as locals play chess in the water. As evening falls, Budapest transforms. The Parliament lights up like a golden crown beside the river, and the entire city reflects in the dark water — romantic, elegant, unforgettable. Budapest isn’t a city to rush. It’s a city to wander — slowly, curiously, and with no destination in mind 🇭🇺 #budapest #hungary #europetrip #TripMoments #TravelStory
