Cancun
#falladventures Cancún ☀️ Mexico’s most popular resort destination is visited by around 7 million tourists every year, mostly from the USA, but also from every country in Central and South America! The city is nicknamed “Little Miami” because of the countless similarities we’ve seen for ourselves: the downtown area stands out, along with the famous Hotel Zone, where about 100 hotels, restaurants, and clubs stretch along a 22-kilometre-long beach. The name of the city in the Mayan language means “nest of snakes”. Luckily – we didn’t see a single one, but iguanas and peacocks freely wander around the resorts instead 🙂
The Grand Oasis Cancún - All Inclusive
#falladventures Why go because: - All-you-can-drink bars that never judge your 11 a.m. tequila decision - Pools so massive you’ll get lost trying to find your dignity - Foam parties that turn 40-year-olds into 20-year-olds with back problems - Food 24/7 so your hangover can have a hangover food - Shows cheesier than a nacho platter, yet you’ll still cry at the Michael Jackson tribute - Beach so perfect you’ll forgive the $18 piña coladas - Zero questions asked when you return to the room wearing someone else’s flip-flop Basically heaven, but with more sunscreen and regret. Book it before your boss notices you’re already sunburnt on Zoom.

#falladventures Sun-kissed days in Cancún gave us turquoise waves, spicy tacos, and endless laughter. But the real souvenirs? A tiny silver sea turtle necklace that catches the light like the Caribbean Sea, a hand-painted Talavera shot glass we’ll never drink from (too pretty), and the sand still stuck in our shoes. These little treasures sit on our shelf, whispering of barefoot nights, salsa dancing disasters, and that perfect sunset we swore we’d never forget. Forever isn’t in the price tag—it’s in the memories they hold. 🌺🌊
The Grand Oasis Cancún - All Inclusive
#falladventures Grand Oasis Cancun – what to know and how to enjoy it 🌴🌊🌅 If you're staying or considering staying at **Grand Oasis Cancun**, here’s a simple guide to get the best out of it. Where it shines • Massive beachfront property with a long, wide stretch of soft sand • One of the liveliest atmospheres in the Hotel Zone • Lots of pools, bars, and entertainment all day • Easy access to buses running up and down Zona Hotelera • Big rooms, many with ocean views Things to know • It’s known for party vibes, especially weekends • Food varies a lot—some restaurants are great, others average • The property is huge, so expect walking • Not the quietest or most boutique experience How to enjoy your stay • Hit the beach early—water is clearest and crowds are minimal • Use the buffet for convenience but explore the à la carte spots for better meals • Visit the coffee bar in the morning to avoid long lines later • Catch the evening shows—they’re surprisingly good • Use the local bus to explore nearby beaches, malls, and viewpoints Nearby things to do • Playa Delfines – gorgeous public beach with the Cancun sign • El Rey Ruins – small Mayan site right across the road • Ventura Park – water park if you want something fun and active • La Isla Shopping Village – lagoon-front mall with great sunset views • Nightlife around Coco Bongo or Mandala if you want big-party energy
Cancun
Xcaret, Cancun's most famous amusement park, is worth spending a whole day at. It's suitable for all ages, including the elderly and children. Its most famous feature is its underground waterway swimming area. They provide life jackets and fins; even if you can't swim, there are safety ropes to help you swim across. There are Mayan architecture, underwater exhibits, a butterfly house with many local flora and fauna, and a unique Mayan show. For transportation, I recommend renting a car. Taxis in Cancun are too expensive; the cost of a few rides is roughly equivalent to renting a car for a week. I also don't recommend staying at Xcaret's all-inclusive hotels; you won't have time to enjoy them. Villas near the amusement park are less than $100 per night. Eating nearby is also very cheap; there's no need to eat at the buffet. A table full of seafood only cost $60.

Cancun is situated within the tropical belt and as such its 4 seasons are rather warm and humid; notably the dry and wet seasons. During the wet season which lasts from July to October, torrential rains are frequent. There could even be hurricanes from August to October and it is usually not suitable for beach activities. You have to be mindful of the weather changes if you are planning to go outdoors.
