Hanoi Old Quarter
Walking around Hanoi offers a unique charm that feels both lively and nostalgic at the same time. The city is filled with narrow streets, old neighborhoods, and endless small cafés that create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. As you explore the city on foot, you’ll notice how everyday life blends perfectly with the historic surroundings. Scooters pass through busy streets, locals gather at small food stalls, and the energy of the city never truly stops. One of the most iconic experiences in Hanoi is visiting the famous train street area, where trains pass incredibly close to the cafés and houses. Watching the train move through the narrow neighborhood is both exciting and surreal, especially seeing how local life continues so naturally around it. The contrast between the old buildings, railway tracks, and vibrant cafés creates a scene that feels raw and authentic. Beyond the train street, Hanoi’s neighborhoods are full of character. The mix of French colonial architecture, colorful signs, and local street life gives the city a timeless charm. Whether during the day or at night, simply walking around Hanoi feels like an experience on its own—full of culture, movement, and unforgettable city views. #travel #travel2026 #vietnam #travel2026 #couplestrip
Hoan Kiem Lake
Hanoi is chaotic in the best way possible. Scooters everywhere, hidden cafés, street food on every corner, and a mix of old architecture and local life that gives the city a unique atmosphere. One day here feels intense—but unforgettable. Morning: Old Quarter & Vietnamese Coffee ☕ Start your day early in the Old Quarter 🚶♂️. Walking through the small streets in the morning is the best way to feel the energy of Hanoi waking up. Stop at a local café and try the famous egg coffee 🥚☕—a must in the city. Then head toward Hoàn Kiếm Lake 🌿, one of the calmest spots in the center. Locals gather here in the morning for walks and exercise, creating a really authentic atmosphere. Afternoon: Food & Culture 🍜 For lunch, try local dishes like pho 🍲 or bun cha 🍖. Hanoi is one of the best food cities in Asia, and even simple street food spots can be incredible. Meals are affordable too—usually around 50,000–150,000 VND. After lunch, visit the Temple of Literature 🏯, one of the city’s most beautiful historical sites. It’s peaceful and gives a different side of Hanoi compared to the busy streets. Evening: Train Street & Night Atmosphere 🚆🌃 End your day around Hanoi Train Street 🚆. Watching the train pass just inches away from cafés is a surreal experience and one of the most iconic things to do in Hanoi. Then wander back through the Old Quarter at night 🌙—street food stalls, lights, and endless movement everywhere. Practical tips 💡: Use Grab 🚕 to move around easily, but many places are best explored on foot 👟. Hanoi can feel overwhelming at first, but that’s exactly what makes it special. Hanoi isn’t polished—and that’s why people fall in love with it. Temple Of Literature
We took a short break in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. To be honest, we aren't really into the "Asian romance" — we can't stand this urban "chaos". Hanoi House Hotel & Travel
If you are looking for a cozy and homey hotel in the Old Quarter area, this might just be the perfect spot for you. 😊 From the outside, there’s nothing fancy about this place; it looks like an ordinary hotel. But the moment you step into the lobby, you are greeted by a classic vintage design and welcomed by a friendly receptionist. The lobby isn't too big, but personally, I really love the classic vibes. Don’t worry, this hotel has an elevator, so you don’t need to climb the stairs to get to your room. 😉 Moving on to the bedroom—surprisingly, the room was much more spacious than I had imagined! I booked a family room for 3 people for my stay (1 queen-sized bed & 1 single bed). They provided great amenities in the bedroom as well. In the bathroom, they supplied basic toiletries for us to use, and a water heater was also provided. The bathroom size is compact but has absolutely everything you need. My favorite part was that our room had a relaxing balcony. The balcony was quite spacious too, making it the perfect spot to chill. 😍 The name of this property is the Hanoi House Hotel & Travel, located right in the Hanoi Old Quarter. 🇻🇳
Hoan Kiem Lake
📍 Place: Hanoi, Vietnam ✨ What it felt like: From the Old Quarter to Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi is a mix of colonial architecture, bustling markets, and peaceful temples. Motorbikes fill the streets, the aroma of pho drifts through alleyways, and the city feels alive at every hour. 👀 What stood out: Budget travelers can enjoy pho, bun cha, and egg coffee while walking or taking GrabBike for just a few dollars. Mid-range visitors can stay in boutique hotels, explore museums, and take guided tours without overspending. Luxury travelers can enjoy rooftop dining, private cars, and VIP experiences like cooking classes and water puppet shows. Everywhere you go, Hanoi balances cultural richness, amazing food, and ease of transport. 💡 Exclusive tip: Budget: grab a local SIM for cheap data and explore on foot. Mid-range: use Grab for short rides and focus on the Old Quarter. Luxury: stay near Hoan Kiem Lake and book rooftop restaurants at sunset plus private tours for exclusivity. ❤️ Personal feeling: Hanoi made me feel immersed in everyday life while also giving space for quiet reflection by the lake. It’s the kind of city where wandering the streets and tasting small bites feels like a full adventure, no matter the budget. #Hanoi #Vietnam #TravelTips #BudgetTravel #MidRangeTravel #LuxuryTravel #StreetFood #CityExploration #CulturalTrips #travel2026#travel#couplestrip
Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm
If you want to try more than just the typical tourist dishes, here are my personal favorites: 🥢 Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm – fried tofu, rice noodles, fresh herbs, and the famous fermented shrimp paste. A very authentic Vietnamese dish that people tend to either love or hate. 🍜 Phở Bò / Phở Gà – Vietnam’s iconic noodle soup with beef or chicken. Best enjoyed for breakfast, just like the locals do. 🥖 Bánh Mì – a Vietnamese baguette sandwich with a variety of fillings. Perfect for a quick, delicious meal on the go. 🍲 Hủ Tiếu – a flavorful Southern Vietnamese noodle soup, often served with pork, seafood, or both. 🦀 Fresh Seafood – shrimp, crab, squid, scallops, oysters, and more. If you’re near the coast, don’t miss the chance to try freshly caught seafood. Out of everything on this list, I probably miss Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm and a good bowl of Phở Bò the most. What’s your favorite Vietnamese dish? 🇻🇳👇
