The Langkawi Lagoon Wave Villas Resort in Langkawi truly exceeded my expectations. Located on Jalan Kuala Muda, it's less than a 10-minute drive from the airport – incredibly convenient! It's especially suitable for those arriving late or leaving early. 🏝️ Surrounded by quiet villages and sparse greenery, it's a very tranquil area. Upon arriving at the hotel, the overall environment felt relaxing. The architecture has a strong Southeast Asian resort feel, seamlessly blending the overwater structures with the surrounding scenery. 🏡 While some rooms are slightly retro compared to luxury, they are clean and tidy. If you enjoy the healing effect of natural scenery, this is a great choice! The front desk can be a bit busy at times, but the staff are very friendly and helpful in arranging transportation – very thoughtful. While their efficiency isn't particularly fast, it seems to be a reasonable balance in this leisurely island lifestyle 🤣. The rooms are definitely one of the highlights. We stayed in an overwater suite with a balcony offering expansive views. Watching the sky transition from orange-red to deep blue at sunset from the balcony was absolutely stunning! The room was spacious, the bed was just the right firmness, and it faced a floor-to-ceiling window offering breathtaking views! However, the amenities were a bit basic; for example, there were no slippers or toothbrushes, so those who want to bring their own should prepare in advance. In the morning, you can take a stroll around the resort. The animal enclosure is quite interesting, and you might discover some delightful surprises. The pool area has a real infinity pool feel, and early morning is probably the best time to enjoy it. In the evening, you can also see beautiful sunsets. 🍹While there aren't many sun loungers by the pool, the view is a huge plus! The breakfast was also quite plentiful, a fusion of Eastern and Western cuisine, including traditional Malay dishes. A truly satisfying experience! Although the surrounding area is relatively quiet, you can easily reach exciting activities like Sky Trek Adventure and skydiving in Langkawi by taxi! 🏞️Of course, relaxing activities like Yoga Now Langkawi and Amaya Spa are also worth trying. As for food, I recommend The Beach Grill or Langkawi Kitchen. They're both close to the resort, and the sea views and food are incredibly appealing! However, as a guest, I have to mention a few minor drawbacks. 🦟 The area around the hotel has a lot of vegetation, which attracts small animals, resulting in a lot of insects. I was practically in tears from the mosquitoes these past two days, so remember to bring plenty of mosquito repellent! Also, although the hotel is called "overwater bungalows," the mudflats at low tide might not be what you're expecting – those hoping to swim in the sea might be disappointed. However, walking in the mud is quite fun and offers a different kind of experience. Overall, this place is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a slower pace of life! With amazing sunsets, an infinity pool, and lush greenery, plus its proximity to the airport, it's a great value option. I'd probably choose it again next time I'm in Langkawi! ⛱️
