I thought I knew chocolate. Then I visited a cacao farm in Colombia. Holding a freshly harvested cacao pod in my hands, walking among cacao trees on a mountainside, and tasting the fruit straight from the source was one of the most surprising experiences of my trip. The setting was breathtaking: green valleys, misty mountains, and endless tropical vegetation. It’s amazing how something as familiar as chocolate starts as a colorful pod growing on a tree.
