Come early to avoid crowds. 3️⃣ Climb Tsar Samuel’s Fortress The walk up from the old town is steep but short. At the top, you’re rewarded with a 360-degree view: terracotta roofs, the lake’s deep blue, and mountains unfolding into Albania. It’s the kind of place where you just stand and breathe for a while. 4️⃣ Wander through the Old Town’s Cobbled Streets These narrow lanes feel frozen in time. Wooden balconies overhang stone walls, laundry flaps in the breeze, and every corner reveals a small church or a hidden courtyard. Let yourself get lost—that’s the point. 5️⃣ The Ancient Theatre of Ohrid Tucked into the hillside, this Hellenistic theatre is still used for performances today. Ohrid is small enough that you can cover a lot without rushing. Started at the promenade → Old Town streets → Ancient Theatre → Samuel’s Fortress → wooden boardwalk → St. John at Kaneo. It’s an easy loop and gives you all the classic views.
