Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
I'm excited to share and recommend the travel itinerary I followed during my trip to Okinawa!❣️ The very first place I headed to in the morning was Shuri Castle. I was looking forward to it as a place to experience the history and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and seeing it in person, the red walls and magnificent atmosphere were truly impressive. There were some areas under restoration, but that actually made it feel even more special, like a testament to its long-enduring history. The view of downtown Naha from up high was also absolutely gorgeous! Afterward, I drove over to Cape Manzamo. Standing on the cliff and looking out at the ocean, I couldn't help but marvel as the emerald sea I had only seen in photos unfolded right before my eyes. The breeze was refreshing and the sound of the waves was so calming that I just stood there for a moment, mesmerized by the view. Seeing the elephant trunk-shaped cliff in real life was fascinating, and since photos turn out amazing from any angle, it was the most satisfying photo spot of my trip!👍 In the afternoon, I visited the highly anticipated Churaumi Aquarium. The sheer scale of it was massive right from the moment I walked in, and the whale sharks swimming gracefully in the giant tank were simply awe-inspiring. I lost track of time admiring the diverse tropical fish and marine life up close. I totally understood why this is a must-visit spot if you go to Okinawa! The final stop of the trip was the Bise Fukugi Tree Road. It had a completely different vibe from the bustling tourist spots, and seeing the sunlight filtering through the quiet walking paths was incredibly peaceful. The sound of the trees swaying in the wind and the tranquil village scenery put my mind completely at ease. It was the perfect place to truly soak in Okinawa's signature laid-back atmosphere. After exploring these various attractions, I realized that Okinawa isn't just a simple holiday resort, but a destination full of unique hidden charms all over the place. If you ever visit Okinawa, I highly recommend checking out the places on my itinerary at least once!🫶
Koza Music Town
Okinawa City is a feast for the senses—where sparkling waterways, stunning gardens, and mouthwatering local flavors come together! This sunny, nature-filled corner of Kyushu is perfect for travelers craving a hybrid of peaceful outdoor escapes and local culture. Start your adventure at the city’s lush parks—Okinawa Comprehensive Park is a top pick. Here, stroll around serene ponds where gleaming koi carp swirl in the clear daytime light—perfect for that dreamy, nature-inspired shot. Get up close with the fish for an enchanting "Nature-Vision" close-up (try capturing sunlight shimmering on the water for a pro tip!). The perfect insta-worthy memory. Next, explore the botanical corners scattered around the city. Snap vibrant flowers against tranquil rivers and let the lush setting spark your creativity. Bring snacks and relax by the water—you’ll often spot locals picnicking or feeding the koi, a classic Okinawan afternoon vibe. Foodies shouldn’t miss the bustling area near Koza Music Town—plenty of local eateries serve Okinawa soba and fresh seafood. Enjoy a bowl of hot noodles after your walk (don’t forget to photograph before you dig in—the color pops!). Tips: · Visit parks early for the best lighting and peaceful atmosphere. · Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and water—Okinawa’s sun is strong! · Feeding the koi is allowed in some spots, but double check signs. · If you’re driving, note that some parks have paid parking. #Okinawa #NatureEscape #Kyushu #FoodieTravel #JPScenery
Nest Hotel Naha Kumoji
We had a wonderful stay at Nest Hotel Naha Kumoji. The moment you walk into the lobby, you are greeted by a stunning modern design filled with warm wood tones, tall ceilings, and lush green plants. There is a great large wooden table with power outlets perfect for getting some light work done, and a stylish staircase leading up to a loft area. The front desk area is sleek and the check-in process was seamless. The room itself was cozy, clean, and well-optimized. The bed was comfortable, pajamas were neatly laid out for us, and it featured a great wall-mounted TV. One of the highlights was looking out the window during sunset. Depending on which side you look out of, you get a sprawling view of Naha’s cityscape, urban streets, and the monorail track running through the city. It’s a stylish, comfortable, and very photogenic hotel. Would absolutely stay here again! 📍Nest Hotel Naha Kumoji 2 Chome-22-5 Kumoji, Naha, Okinawa 900-0015, Japan
Okinawa City
#japantrip While many travelers head straight for the beaches, Okinawa City offers a fascinating blend of architectural styles and vibrant tropical flora that tells a different story of the island. Walking through the streets, you'll find a striking contrast between modern designs and classical influences. 🏛️ Architectural Highlights The buildings here often feature grand columns and clean lines, standing out against the bright blue Okinawan sky. It’s a photographer’s dream to capture the way the light hits these structures throughout the day. The mix of urban development and traditional island vibes creates a very specific atmosphere you won't find anywhere else in Japan. 🌿 A Tropical Urban Escape One of the best parts of exploring this area is the greenery. You’ll often see lush vines and tropical plants draping over overpasses and walls, softening the city's edges. Pro Tip: Take a slow walk near the city center to find hidden balconies and unique facades that make for the perfect "Trip Moment" cover photo! Best Time to Visit: Early morning or "Golden Hour" for the best lighting on the white stone buildings. If you are looking for a break from the coastal resorts, Okinawa City provides a sophisticated, cultural alternative with plenty of character. #japantrip #okinawa #citywalk #architecture #traveljapan #tropicalvibes
