Osaka
#OsakaItinerary #OsakaItinerary #NewYearDestinations2025 When you think of Osaka, the first thing that comes to mind is Universal Studios Japan. Although there are Owl Cafes in other cities, this particular Owl Cafe is about 8 minutes from Osaka's Shinsaibashi shopping street, and is the largest Owl Cafe in Japan. So if you get tired of shopping, you can come here to interact with the adorable owls 🦉 Originally, when I arrived in Osaka, I tried to make a reservation on the Owl Cafe's website; all the time slots were already full. I decided to go straight to Harry Potter and the Great White Shark at Universal Studios the next morning; and then take the Nippon Subway back to Shinsaibashi, and head straight to the Owl Cafe (around 2 PM). The staff spoke excellent English, so communication was no problem, and I made a reservation for 6 PM directly 👌 Before entering the cafe, you need to step on a sanitizing mat to disinfect your hands; The first thing to do upon entering the cafe is to wash your hands thoroughly at the sink. The staff are very friendly and will guide you. Then, you go to the counter to decide what kind of service you want for the day. Admission Fee and 1-Hour Interactive Experience: Adults ¥2200 (tax included) Elementary School Students ¥1100 (tax included) Contact Experience + Choosing an Owl to Place on Your Person: Adults ¥2500 (tax included) Elementary School Students ¥1400 (tax included) All include one drink. After choosing your preferred option and paying, the staff will give you a tag to hang on your person. They will then guide you to a seat, where you can place your belongings. They will ask you the language of the explanation, and an explanatory video will be played on an iPad. After watching the video, you can choose your drink. Then you can enter the world of owls! 🤩 The area for drinking coffee and placing your belongings is separate from the owl area. Each owl has a name, and an explanatory card explaining the owl's name. The parts of the owl you can touch vary: Some can be petted on the head; some on the chin; some are very nice and allow you to pet the whole body. This time, we chose the option where the owl could be worn on our bodies. The staff will give you a selection menu, including a special menu for children (smaller owls). Adults have more choices, including larger owls. The owl I chose this time was named Candy, a beautiful young lady 🥰. After telling the staff which owl you want to interact with, they will check where the owl can stand—some can perch on your head, shoulders, or wrists. After the consultation, the staff will set up the safety harness. Then, it's time to get the owl on your body! Of course, this is the perfect time to take lots of photos. After the owl-possessed activity, it's time to make the most of every moment and pet each and every owl thoroughly! 😆 It's truly therapeutic! 😘 For cat lovers and animal lovers, you absolutely must experience this! 🫶 🕰️Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Last admission is at 6:00 PM) 📍Address: 1-9-21 Higashi-Shin-Nishibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka 💰Average Cost: Admission Fee Adults 2200 yen Elementary School Students 1100 yen 🗓️Itinerary: Shinsaibashi Shopping - Ippudo Ramen - Owl Cafe
Namba Parks
#OsakaTrip 🇯🇵 If you're going to Osaka and looking for a delicious restaurant with reasonable prices, where you can save money but still eat until you're full, I highly recommend this place! This is a shabu-shabu buffet where I ate until I was completely full. It cost 2,418 yen per person (including tax) and you can eat for 120 minutes. They don't skimp on vegetables, pork, or rice. But the best part is, the starting price is only 990 yen, which is less than 200 baht! The black broth soup is a must-try. It's rich, deep, and authentically Japanese. The ingredients might not be beautifully presented because the vegetables come from a small farm, but they are incredibly fresh. Eating it feels good. Plus, there's a section where you can make curry rice to finish off your meal perfectly. I chose this restaurant because they have a vegetarian buffet with no meat for 990 yen. For meat lovers, there are many options to choose from. You can order meat to be served to your table, while vegetables and other items are self-serve at the bar. The atmosphere is very local. It's mostly Japanese people, not yet mainstream, and super easy to get to. Get off at Namba Station, walk into the mall, and go up to the 6th floor. 📍 Location: Yasaiya Mei Namba Parks やさい家めい なんばパークス店 | Namba Parks Mall, 6th Floor #OsakaTravel #Buffet #OsakaRestaurant #Osaka
Kura Sushi
✔️ Conveniently located near Namba Parks, making it easily accessible. As a 'Global Flagship' store, it boasts a large scale and a well-organized waiting system, so even if the line is long, everything runs smoothly. Watching the number call screen while waiting is surprisingly entertaining. ✔️ Once seated, the first thing you'll notice is the sushi rail with capsule covers. It gives off a very hygienic impression, leaving a great first impression. The system where your order zooms directly to you on the rail keeps the unique tempo of conveyor belt sushi alive. ✔️ The sushi quality exceeds expectations. The salmon is not overly oily and has a clean taste, while the shrimp is delightfully firm. The fried items feel freshly made, with a satisfying crispiness, and considering the value for money, it's hard to resist. With a wide variety of options, it's easy to find something for everyone, even in a group with diverse tastes. ✔️ Including drinks, the overall experience breaks the stereotype of being just a 'tourist chain.' The satisfaction level is high for the price, and the bright atmosphere of the store makes it suitable for solo dining, dates, or family outings. If you're in Namba, this place is highly recommended for conveyor belt sushi. Kura Sushi Global Flagship Namba Parks 📍Japan 〒556-0011 Osaka, Naniwa Ward, Nanbanaka, 2 Chome−11−18 2F

The Bridge Hotel Shinsaibashi
❤️ Authentic Japanese Breakfast~~~ A rich and diverse selection of exquisite breakfast options. Too bad... I only have one stomach. 🧡 Chinese-speaking staff~~~ I spoke a lot of English at the front desk, but when I turned to speak Chinese with my friend, the front desk lady replied, "I can speak Chinese." 💛 Comfortable massage chairs~~~ Five massage chairs are placed in the lobby, perfect for relaxing your legs, shoulders, neck, and back after walking 20,000 steps daily. 💚 Japanese cultural experiences~~~ Every day at 5 PM, there are different activities like making takoyaki, egg cakes, shooting games, and kimono experiences. 🩵 Free variety of drinks~~~ Unlimited free drinks including liqueurs, shochu, draft beer, and ice cream. You’ll want to grab a drink to take back to your room every time you return to the hotel. 💙 DIY late-night ramen~~~ All-you-can-eat! Four flavors—soy sauce, salt, miso, and tonkotsu—are offered on rotation every night. The small bowls are unlimited, making it a perfect warm treat during winter. 💜 Convenient shopping and transportation~~~ Located near Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori, it’s super convenient for shopping, dining, or exploring other areas. 🥰 The hotel offers a wide range of items for borrowing, including curling irons, flat irons, bicycles, umbrellas, Wi-Fi devices, LEGO blocks, power banks, chargers, adapters, and beauty devices. Definitely worth a five-star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. 🥺 Of course, there are minor drawbacks... The bathroom space and bathtub are a bit small, which might feel cramped for those over 170 cm tall. Also, the soundproofing isn’t great, so light sleepers might need to consider this.
Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka (NAKKA)
Winter in Osaka is marked by a clear and crisp blue sky, infused with the warmth of art and architecture. This trip focuses on a cultural and artistic route, with a highlight on Tadao Ando's Nakanoshima Children's Book Forest. The journey continues with a visit to the Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art, blending architectural aesthetics with the inspiration of modern art. Coupled with a series of nearby boutique shops and food recommendations, this itinerary is perfect for design enthusiasts and family travelers alike! Highlights of this itinerary: Tadao Ando's minimalist concrete aesthetics x modern art museum x Osaka-exclusive popular bread. The itinerary is practical and immersive, allowing you to experience Osaka's "life as art" atmosphere in every detail. Recommended Attractions 1. Nakanoshima Children's Book Forest Stepping into Tadao Ando's iconic cylindrical concrete building, the immediate feeling is not coldness but warmth—light filters through the dome, and the scent of books envelops you as you wander among the shelves. You can even see Tadao Ando's hand-drawn original sketches (on display in the exhibition area), offering a genuine glimpse into the philosophy of architecture. Special Recommendation: Open an art book and discover Picasso's "Half-Face" portrait or Pollock's abstract paint splashes—these are the best metaphors for the library's design philosophy. Every play of light and arrangement of books opens a channel for thought. The circular skylight's light spots evoke a magical "Kiki's Delivery Service" vibe, making it a favorite for both kids and adults! 2. Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art This modern art museum boasts a comprehensive collection and a stylish exterior. In addition to Tadao Ando's architectural design, it houses a wide range of artworks from modern to contemporary periods. Current exhibitions feature masterpieces by Picasso, Pollock, and other renowned artists, creating a dialogue with different eras as you explore the museum. Attraction Information: Address: 4 Chome-3-1 Nakanoshima, Kita Ward, Osaka, 530-0005 Japan Opening Hours: February 4 - December 31, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM), closed on Mondays 3. Outdoor Street Art Exploration After visiting the museum, take a stroll along the Nakanoshima riverside and encounter a giant green apple sculpture. Its striking presence among the skyscrapers is a tangible representation of Tadao Ando's concrete artistry. The city itself feels like an open-air museum, with outdoor spaces perfect for photography and family relaxation. 4. Carousel & Family Fun Near the museum, you'll find outdoor play facilities for children, such as a classic carousel (check ahead for riverside park events). These small joys of family interaction, like seeing a child's smile, can instantly erase the day's fatigue. Food Recommendations - Treat yourself! Try Kimura Takuya's favorite truffle bread (a popular item at a nearby bakery). Its rich aroma and crispy crust are worth the wait. - For a grand finale dinner, opt for an Italian pizzeria. Order a pizza topped with prosciutto, arugula, and Parmesan cheese, drizzled with balsamic glaze—a perfect blend of smoky, savory, and tangy flavors to end your artistic journey. Practical Tips - Tip 1: The exterior spaces of the museum and library are ideal for capturing architectural landscapes. On sunny days, the blue sky adds depth to your photos. - Tip 2: Plan your visit on days other than Monday, as the museum is closed on Mondays. - Tip 3: Bring your kids to explore the library, outdoor sculptures, and capture memorable family photos throughout the day. - Tip 4: Popular bakeries often have queues; it's best to arrive early during lunchtime. Transportation Guide - Take the JR or Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to "Yodoyabashi Station" and walk within 10 minutes to reach Nakanoshima Museum of Art and nearby attractions—very convenient. - Alternatively, take the Keihan Nakanoshima Line to "Watanabebashi Station," just a 3-minute walk away, making it easy for families with children. A one-day tour of Osaka's Nakanoshima seamlessly combines art and life, offering poetic encounters with space, light, and cuisine. If you love design and exploration, this route is a must-try! The essence of travel may lie in discovering your unique "life as art" through everyday details.

Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit Osaka. From March to May, the weather is warm and comfortable; however you should bring a light jacket along. Plum Blossom season is from June to August, it is hot and humid so remember to bring some lotion to prevent sunburn. September to November is autumn, and it has similar weather as in spring and it could be rather chilly after dusk. December to February is winter and you should plan to bring along winter clothing.
