🇫🇷 Traveling to Paris can really be overwhelming with all the different neighborhoods and routes. Staying in the wrong area not only raises safety concerns but also wastes a lot of time every day. As a traveler who has explored Paris deeply five times, here is a summary of 3 suitable areas to stay in Paris: safe, well-connected by transport, and reasonably priced. Save this for your trip! 🔹 Area 1: Opéra (Galeries Lafayette/Opera District) Features: City center, strong sense of security, excellent transportation If you like staying in a lively and safe area, this neighborhood is close to Galeries Lafayette and the Paris Opera House. The streets are wide and bright, with good security and convenient shopping. It’s safe to walk around at night. Nearby metro lines 3, 7, and 8 intersect here, and there are plenty of large department stores, cafes, and restaurants, making it convenient to get anywhere. 🏨 Recommended Hotels ① Hotel Volney Opéra ② Résidence Ritz Advantages: Walking distance to the Opera and Galeries Lafayette, central location. Many room types, often rated as “good value for money.” Suitable for travelers who want to shop and enjoy a lively yet safe environment at night. 🔹 Area 2: Le Marais Features: Artistic and trendy, dense with restaurants, walkable Le Marais is the favorite neighborhood of young Parisians, with a relaxed vintage vibe, independent design shops, and dessert cafes. The security is relatively good, and metro lines 1, 7, and 11 run through it, making it convenient to reach attractions. 🏨 Recommended Hotels ① Hôtel Bretonnerie Paris ② Hôtel Jeanne d’Arc Le Marais Advantages: Located in the walkable Marais area, relatively affordable prices. Close to main shopping streets and restaurants, many attractions are within walking distance. Ideal for travelers wanting to experience authentic Parisian atmosphere. 🔹 Area 3: Near the Eiffel Tower Features: Quiet environment, romantic views, suitable for couples and families The 7th arrondissement of Paris is very safe, with clean and orderly streets and evenly distributed cafes. If you want to see and photograph the Eiffel Tower, this area is perfect. The downside is that hotel prices are a bit higher, but the safety, environment, and Parisian atmosphere more than make up for it. 🏨 Recommended Hotels ① Hôtel Derby Eiffel ② Hôtel Le Cadran Paris 7ème Advantages: Walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, rooms are small but have classic Parisian old-style decor. Suitable for travelers who want to be close to the Eiffel Tower while saving a bit on budget. ⚠️ Final key tips: - Don’t choose a hotel too far away just because it’s cheap - Avoid staying near Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est due to safety concerns - Paris buses are slow; hotels near metro stations are more convenient - Book as early as possible, especially during the peak season from April to July

#europetrip So what are the best things to do in Paris in 1 day? Where do I even start? There are millions of things to do in Paris so it’s definitely worth doing a little bit of planning to figure out what you want to see and do the most. Another thing to keep in mind is that part of Paris’ charm are the streets, buildings, and neighbourhoods. While it definitely takes longer, I try to explore as much of the city as possible by foot. I’m not saying walk from Montmartre to the Eiffel tower, but you could walk from the Arc du Triomphe to the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower Getting a photo of the Eiffel Tower may be the most touristy thing to do, but it’s also a must. I’ll be honest; I’ve now been to Paris 10 times and I still haven’t actually been up the Eiffel Tower. I prefer a city view that includes the Eiffel Tower in it so I go to the base and surrounding area for photos every time I visit. If you do want to climb the tower there are two ticket types: one for the elevator and one for the stairs. Not surprisingly, the stairs are the cheaper option. There are also two viewing platforms with the top being more expensive than the second floor. It’s a good idea to book your tickets in advance to skip the lines- they are long! Arc de Triomphe Located at the end of the Champ-Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe is another iconic Paris Monument. The structure is a war memorial honouring those who fought for France. Names are carved into the stone of the arch and there is also a memorial flame. Ticket holders can also climb to the top where they will be rewarded with beautiful panoramic views of the city. I recommend going in the evening to see the city all lit up. Notre Dame Cathedral & The Seine Notre Dame is located along the Seine and provides a perfect opportunity to walk along this famous river. While walking, keep an eye out for Paris’ beautiful bridges including Pont Neuf and Pont Alexandre III. Walking is a great way to see these sites, but if you are looking for something different and a little more laid back consider taking a seine river cruise. Museums of Paris Paris has dozens of museums, but if you only have one day in Paris, then there is no way you will have time to see them all. Unless you are a museum person, I suggest picking one and saving the rest for another trip. The Louvre is by far the most popular and while I did enjoy going to see the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory, it wasn’t my favourite museum. I personally preferred the Musée d’Orsay; a converted old train station with a huge variety of artworks. A third recommendation, and one that you can spend a shorter amount of time in, is the Musée de l’Orangerie which houses Claude Monet’s famous Water Lillies. Find a spot on the bench in one of the circular rooms and just try to take it all in. It’s pretty incredible. #paris #paristrip #paristravel #eiffeltower #travel #thingstodo #citydaytours

From March to May is spring in Paris, with its flowers in full bloom and abounding in romantic vibes. The weather turns warmer and is not humid during the summer which lasts from June to August. This is also the peak tourist season. Come July and August, the river banks would be overlaid with sand and resembling a beach. July also happens to be the shopping season whereby every shopping area would be giving huge discounts on their merchandise. The weather starts to turn colder during the autumn from September to November so do remember to bring some warmer clothing. Winter in Paris is really cold, and there is a big temperature difference between indoors and outdoors; you must bring winter garb. You could soak in the atmosphere at the many fairs and events prior to Christmas.
