Surprising, isn't it? We aurora newbies all thought that as long as the KP value was high, we could see the aurora, and that a low KP value meant no hope. But that's not true! The most important factors are whether you are under the aurora zone (Oval) and how thick the clouds are overhead. In Tromsø, the KP value for the aurora we saw was only 2-3. But because we went to a cloudless area, we saw a very, very, very clear aurora as soon as we got off the bus. The BZ value that day was -1 to -3, and the wind speed was 430-450 km/s. Importantly, the sky was very clear; the photographer said we were very lucky. The next day, we saw the aurora in Kilpisjärvi, Finland. We didn't have high hopes because there were many clouds that day, but it suddenly erupted before we went to sleep ❤️! It was a free aurora display right above our accommodation! The KP value that day was 3-4, the BZ value was -5 to -7, and the wind speed was 520-580 km/s. On February 15th, we went to Rovaniemi for an aurora tour. The KP value that day was 5-6, the BZ value was -8 to -10, and the wind speed was 640-700 km/s. The speed has reached the level of a minor geomagnetic storm. How to check aurora data: You can view data up to 27 days ago (updated every Monday). ➡️ Search "NOAA 27-day forecast". It's recommended to check data up to 3 days ago for the most accurate results. ➡️ Search "NOAA 3-day forecasts" and use the Aurora app to check the aurora band, BZ value, and wind speed. Wishing everyone a successful aurora viewing! #Nordic #Aurora
Angry Birds Playground
#JanuaryDestinations2026 This is a charming and adorable park full of childlike wonder. Although designed for Angry Birds, Finland's iconic characters, what attracted me most was watching the local Finnish children having so much fun; the atmosphere was pure and joyful. ✨ Park Highlights: · Adorable Designs: Everywhere you look, there are designs featuring classic Angry Birds characters in vibrant colors, making for lively and cute photos. · Local Vibe: More than just a major tourist attraction, this place offers a sense of local life. The park's rides are well-maintained, making it a perfect place to stop and relax during a stroll. · Suitable for All Groups: If you're bringing children, this is definitely the best place to let them burn off energy; for adults, it's also a great place to take photos and soak up the joyful atmosphere. #AngryBirdsPlayground #FinlandTourism #Rovaniemi #AngryBirdsPark #FinlandTravel #FamilyTravel #LocalLife #TripMoments

The shop's decor is unbelievably beautiful; every snapshot could be used as a tablecloth! I even joked with my friend that the decor was unlike anything Finnish could create—it's truly gorgeous! The shop sells various souvenirs and offers luggage storage 🧳. If you're visiting the city center, you absolutely must check it out! 🏠Santa's Gift Company Koskikatu 20, 96200 Rovaniemi
Arctic Circle Husky Park
#europetrip The Arctic Circle is a line of latitude (approx. 66^{\circ }33^{\prime }46.5^{\prime \prime }\) that runs directly through Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland. It is marked for tourists to step over and offers activities like crossing certificates, photo spots, and, while the line moves roughly 15m northward annually, the village remains a premier, year-round spot to experience the Arctic. The Arctic Circle marks the southernmost point where the sun stays above the horizon for 24 hours in summer (Midnight Sun) and below the horizon in winter (Polar Night).
