The most beloved spot in Saipan is Managaha Island. Accessible by a small boat, this island boasts exceptionally fine sand and unbelievably clear waters. While snorkeling, you can see colorful fish swimming right beneath your feet. The calm waves make it beginner-friendly, and simply floating on the water brings a sense of tranquility. If you are tired of crowded and chaotic resorts, Saipan is definitely the answer. I visited in October, and although there were occasional showers, the weather was generally fantastic. Above all, it wasn't bustling with tourists and was peaceful, allowing me to fully enjoy a relaxing trip filled with true rest. Here are four of my favorite moments in Saipan. 🏎️ 1. Renting a convertible and driving along the coastal road If you go to Saipan, I highly recommend renting a convertible. Driving along the coastal road with the wide-open ocean beside me, the emerald sea and cool breeze made me feel completely refreshed. It was the ultimate moment where you could capture a photo of a lifetime no matter where you took it. 🌌 2. A starlight tour adorning the night sky It was such a moving experience that I wondered if I had ever seen so many stars in my life. As I spread out a mat and lay down to gaze at the night sky, the Milky Way and shooting stars seemed to pour down. Thanks to the clean air of Saipan, the stars felt so close I thought I could almost touch them, so I had a truly healing experience. 🥽 3. Mysterious Blue Light, Grotto Cave I also visited Grotto Cave, known as a mecca for divers worldwide. You can feel an overwhelming presence from the moment you descend the stairs, and once you enter the water, a mysterious blue light unfolds that is beyond words. Even just snorkeling, you can see the deep blue underwater cave right beneath your feet, making it a truly thrilling and mystical experience. 🏝️ 4. The Pearl of Saipan, Managaha Island (feat. Han River Ramen) Managaha Island, which is just a short boat ride away, was truly a paradise on earth. The water was so clear that you could see the fish swimming through the transparent water. And ramen tastes absolutely delicious after swimming; when I went, there was even a 'Han River Ramen' machine, so I really enjoyed a delicious meal after finishing my water activities. (I'm not sure if they're still selling it now, but I still can't forget the taste I had back then.) 🍔 A tour of restaurants and supermarkets where both Western and Korean food were perfect Perhaps because Saipan is a U.S. territory, there was absolutely no need to worry about food. Western dishes like steak and gourmet burgers were undeniably juicy and delicious, and surprisingly, there were so many great Korean restaurants that you really don't need to worry about the food not suiting your taste. I especially enjoyed browsing the supermarkets. There were so many fascinating and delicious American snacks that aren't available in Korea, so I was able to enjoy a shopping experience that was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. #SaipanTravel #SaipanReview #RecommendedVacation #OpenCarTour #StarlightTour #GrottoCave #ManagahaIsland #HanRiverRamen #SaipanFoodie #SupermarketRaid #OctoberSaipan #RelaxingVacation #TravelDestinationOfTheYear
Bird Island
Saipan is a beautiful vacation paradise and the capital of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. With crystal-clear waters, pristine white beaches, radiant sunshine, and vibrant coral reefs, it's hard not to fall in love with the sea activities here on a good weather day. You can enjoy thrilling adventures like banana boat rides, parasailing, speed boating, snorkeling, underwater walking, or participate in the lively Chamorro dinner show. Saipan also boasts international-class golf courses, allowing visitors to experience the joy of golfing while immersed in nature. Northern island sightseeing spots include the Last Command Post of the Japanese Army, Suicide Cliff, Blue Hole, and Bird Island. Suicide Cliff, standing 30 meters high, is located in the Banaderu area of Saipan. Banaderu is Chamorro for "wet and muddy place." Bird Island, one of Saipan's most famous attractions, is situated on the northeastern coast of the island. Also known as Lover's Island, its shape resembles a strong man's arm embracing a beautiful maiden, symbolizing mutual affection. Local tradition holds that couples take a wedding photo with their backs to the island to signify a lifetime of happiness. Blue Hole, on the other hand, is Saipan's most renowned and challenging diving spot, consistently ranked among the world's top cave diving sites. The lagoon within Blue Hole reflects magical hues as sunlight changes, creating a truly enchanting experience.
