Susukino Sushi Kin
When traveling alone, everything moves at your own pace. You can linger longer at places you want to see, walk as much as you like, and fully enjoy the food you crave.
Hokkaido is the perfect destination for solo travelers. With its wide streets and parks, quiet alleys, and relaxed atmosphere, you can have a thoroughly enjoyable trip even on your own.
In Sapporo, take a leisurely stroll along Odori Park, sit on a bench with a warm cup of coffee, and take in the cityscape. In Susukino, enjoy ramen or jingisukan at your own pace and end the day comfortably.
In Otaru, walk quietly along the canal, exploring the small alleys and shops one by one. Even without company, you can fully immerse yourself in the scenery and moments.
When traveling alone, the sense of comfort often outweighs loneliness. Simply walking calmly, eating delicious food, and spending a relaxed time is more than enough.
Sometimes, it's nice to just play solo in Hokkaido ❄️

SAPPORO HOTEL by GRANBELL
This Sapporo trip especially wanted to stay in a convenient and quality hotel, Glen Bell Sapporo Hotel is a really good choice, located right near Sapporo JR station. What attracted me most was that it had a large bath on the top floor 25/F, real hot springs to soak in, lounge on 26/F to sit and chill, super healing at night looking at the city view. There is a shopping mall and supermarket across the street, and there is a convenience store downstairs. You don't have to worry about shopping when you're hungry at night.
The hotel is very advantageously located, 5-10 minutes walk from Sapporo JR station, both boarding and disembarking, taking the subway to and from major attractions.
Speaking of the hotel itself, the rooms are newly decorated and modern, the cleanliness is good, and the sense of space is larger than the average Japanese city hotel, suitable for families or people with a lot of luggage. The plus is the large area of floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which makes it feel different sitting by the window at night and looking at the whole city of Sapporo. If you want to relax on weekends, you don't have to leave the hotel to chill.
The loft spa and lounge are my most recommended highlights. There is a large indoor hot spring bath on the 25th floor. After a day of walking, you can sunbathe your feet, take a dip in the soup, and enjoy it. The upstairs lounge has a great night view, whether you are chatting with friends, staying quietly by yourself, or even taking pictures. If you want to go shopping or want supper, there is a mall and supermarket across the street from the hotel.
In terms of service, the staff have basic English/Mandarin communication skills. There are self-service machines for check-in and check-out.
There is a small drawback to mention, at night the room lighting is relatively dim, not suitable to have to read or use the computer for a long time.
Tip: If you want to soak in the hot spring or go to the lounge for a view, remember to arrange your time in advance, the view is most beautiful at dusk/night. Remember to wear non-slip shoes on snowy days, the footpath at Sapporo Station → hotel will be slippery.
Booking advice: It is recommended to book a high floor room for a more beautiful night view, Sapporo winter hotels are more tight, book earlier to choose beautiful.

Chateraise Gateaux Kingdom Sapporo Hotel & Spa Resort
Honestly, this is beyond breakfast level...🍽️✨
I've found a hotel that will win over everyone, whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer savory dishes🤤
As expected from a hotel run by Châteraisé, the level of dedication to sweets is incredible👏
Among them, this is the one you absolutely must try👇
A Baumkuchen finished with a torched brûlée
"Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside"
Completely at the level of a specialty dessert shop...🤤
What's even more amazing is that
the cakes, ice cream, and yogurt sold at Châteraisé stores are all-you-can-eat!
The rich Hokkaido milk is also superb,
and there's even a large chunk of mentaiko (spicy cod roe) in the freshly made, fluffy omelet...
Furthermore, there are plenty of locally sourced Hokkaido dishes and dishes that kids will love, making it a satisfying experience for the whole family.
There are so many varieties that one round is definitely not enough. Before I knew it, I was getting seconds multiple times...
Is it okay to be this happy in the morning?
You'll definitely miss out if you don't know about this place!
