The hotel has a very good location, only about 3 minutes from the MRT station. The room was clean and the view was nice. I didn’t expect much at first, but when I saw the room I liked it a lot. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend it.

A pleasant surprise given the price and what I had - the hotel is easy to find, quite central, has many nice restaurants nearby, the room was spacious and comfortable, and there was a bathtub (many hotels in Taipei only have shower).
However, the bath tub had hair in it which was disappointing, and when I had a bath at 6pm, there was no hot water, just lukewarm water of about 40 degree. I desperately wanted a shower so it took me 1 hour to boil hot water from the kettle enough to cover my body.
But when I took a shower in the morning, they had good hot water.
The chair by the desk was also very old and dirty, so I had to cover it with a towel before I could sit on it.
But overall it’s satisfactory.

No bidet, and you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet. This makes going to the bathroom, especially number two, quite inconvenient and frankly, uncomfortable, as you have to wipe and then put soiled toilet paper in the bin.
The bathroom door doesn't seal properly, so water splashes/flows out. The entire bathroom gets soaked after a shower. Tissues weren't refilled automatically, and the bath mat was taken away but not replaced with a new one. For a room for four people, there were only three hangers.
Both check-in and check-out are entirely self-service via machines. There's really no human interaction or service to speak of.
The location is decent; it's not far from Taipei Main Station, but not particularly close either. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk there. Ningxia Night Market is about 10 minutes away, and Dihua Street is roughly 20 minutes away.

Except for the location amd pillows, everything was good! Location wise - Quite in to the middle seems like no where. They do provide shuttle service to & fro to the nearest Xin Beitou station 9am - 9pm.
Pillows were too flat even though they provided us with a total of 4. Stacked it up but was still flat. Im like literally sleeping on nothing. My partner's neck was crying for help. Pillows can be improved.
Room was decently clean. Had a good soak with our private in room hot spring water tub. Toilet and shower room were seperated. Water pressure for shower was ok. Can be stronger.
Aircon was ok for all sorts of adjustments.
No amenities provided unless you wanna purchase from them through the reception counter (we brought our own)
Breakfast was decently good spread surprisingly!
Staff were friendly and patient.
Overall stay 👍🏻!

I recently stayed at the Taipei Forte Orange Hotel Songjiang for a few nights, and wow, the whole experience was incredibly comfortable! The location is superb, right on Songjiang Road, with easy access to restaurants and the MRT. It's just a few steps from a bustling commercial area, yet the hotel itself is quiet enough for a great rest.
The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was just right – not too soft, not too hard – I slept like a log. The soundproofing was also quite good; I wasn't disturbed by outside noise. The bathroom was well-equipped, with hot water coming out quickly, and they even provided complimentary bottled water and basic tea bags, paying attention to the small details. Although the breakfast selection wasn't super extensive, the food was delicious; the eggs and bread were fresh, enough to fill me up before heading out.
The staff were friendly and polite. Check-in and check-out were quick, and they promptly helped resolve any issues I had. They felt very professional and warm-hearted.

We've stayed here twice, and both times, the lingering smoke smell from the previous guest in our room was really strong. Also, because the breakfast area is under renovation, the breakfast options have been the same few choices every day. Could the menu be updated? (We've been staying for over ten consecutive days now), and we're genuinely tired of it. No matter when we pick up our breakfast, it's always cold. Plus, the salad greens are the exact same every single day. Could you please vary the types of vegetables? I'd also suggest swapping the fries for seasonal fruit; cold fries are really unappetizing. And there's no tomato juice. These are just a few suggestions. Thank you!

Lungshan Temple
This time we stayed at Caesar Metro Taipei,
It’s just a short walk to Longshan Temple, Mengjia Shopping District, and Huaxi Street Night Market,
The area has everything from breakfast and hand-shaken drinks to traditional Taiwanese desserts.
☕ Starbucks Wanhua Lin Mansion
This old red-brick building is incredibly unique, and the store even features a historical exhibition inside.
🥣 Daren Soy Milk King
Open 24 hours. Salty soy milk, rice ball wrapped in egg,
clay oven roll with fried dough stick and egg, plus sugar-free soy milk—a full table of food for only about TWD 135.
🧋 Da Ming Origin Tea
Roasted Sugar Buckwheat Jelly Light Oolong Milk Tea (TWD 75)
The tea is refreshing, and the buckwheat jelly adds a great chewy texture.
🍚 A-Yi Braised Pork Rice
Oyster and Braised Pork Rice Bowl (TWD 145)
The oysters are plump, and combined with the braised pork and savory sauce, it’s absolutely mouthwatering.
🍡 Sanliu Shiba
Finish off with a bowl of traditional alkaline dumpling shaved ice,
The portion is generous, making it perfect for two people to share.

Shabu Le Wagyu Hot Pot
This is my 3rd time visiting Taiwan, so I decided to look for a shabu buffet. I actually wanted to eat mala hot pot, but since some chains have really long wait times, I ended up at this place instead. The restaurant is called Shabu Le Wagyu, located in Ximending on the 3rd floor. The entrance is right next to the Swatch store.
We walked in without a reservation and got seated right away because the restaurant is huge with plenty of tables. Once you arrive, you choose your soup base first and then pick your price tier. They range from 549 to 1,049.
If you're a seafood lover, I'd suggest the 549 or 649 sets—that's more than enough. But if you want beef-topped sushi, you can go for 749 and up. We went with the 799 tier because the beef looked more premium. (The pricing structure is a bit detailed; also, if you go Monday-Thursday between 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, it's 50 NT less than the listed price.)
You can pick 2 soup bases. We chose the Spicy Hot Pot (just regular spicy, not mala) and Kanto Sukiyaki.
The next dazzling part was the buffet line for veggies, fresh ingredients, and dry goods. They go all out with every type, including the winter melon I absolutely love!💚 They even stock our Thai Mama instant noodles—guess they're pretty popular over there.
They also have Japanese-style curry and beef soup with rice that you can scoop yourself. Finally, the drink station is absolutely top-tier! They have everything from sodas, sweet drinks, and coffee to unlimited 🍻. There are so many options. Booze lovers will be obsessed.

Humble Boutique Hotel
If you're looking for a Taipei accommodation that blends modern aesthetics with comfort, Humble Boutique Hotel will definitely win you over.
Located next to Nanjing MRT Station in Songjiang District, stepping out of the bustling city streets and into Humble Boutique Hotel feels like entering a meticulously curated modern art museum.
The lobby lounge features a striking marble sculpture armchair, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of Taipei while gazing out at the city's greenery and traffic. A large-scale golden geometric sculpture hangs on the wall, casting captivating shadows under soft spotlights, complementing the marble-textured geometric coffee table and stylish armchairs—a sophisticated and relaxing corner.
The corridors and stairwells are equally upscale, with minimalist gray-blue walls and staggered golden circular pendant lights that project perfect circles of light onto the polished floor, making walking on it feel like strolling on a fashion runway.
The guest room I stayed in perfectly embodied "understated luxury." The enormous double bed features ultra-soft, high-thread-count pure white bedding, offering top-notch support and comfort.
As a boutique hotel, Humble Boutique Hotel's gym completely exceeded expectations! Not only is the space bright and elegant, but the equipment is also comparable to a professional gym, making it perfect for disciplined travelers who want to maintain their physique and fitness routine while traveling.
It includes free weights and weight training areas, a cardio area, and functional training equipment.
The gym also provides bottled water and towels, and has a towel recycling area.
In addition to the gym, there is a swimming pool. Since I didn't bring a swimsuit, I didn't go to the pool area.
Humble Boutique Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's a luxurious space where you can recharge your lifestyle and slow down. Highly recommended for tourists, business travelers, or anyone simply looking for a relaxing staycation in Taipei!

Linjiang Night Market
## 🌟 A Local's Secret Food Paradise in Taipei: The Ultimate Guide to Linjiang Street (Tonghua) Night Market
If you want to dodge the tourist crowds and experience the most authentic Taipei nightlife, Linjiang Street Night Market (commonly known as Tonghua Night Market), nestled in the prime Da'an District, is your best bet! Located just a stone's throw from Taipei 101, it is home to multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand street food stalls and blends traditional Taiwanese flavors with trendy, modern eats. The straight, easy-to-navigate layout makes it a high-density, top-quality food street in Taipei.
This high-quality, in-depth travel guide is all you need. You can easily search for and book all the hidden gem itineraries, stylish nearby hotels, and experiences mentioned here with just one click on the Trip.com App, making your late-night food crawl in Taipei a breeze!
· -----------------------------
## 📜 The Hustle and Bustle Hidden in the Concrete Jungle (Background History)
The history of Tonghua Night Market is a perfect snapshot of Taipei's local, everyday charm. In the early 1960s, this area near the intersection of Keelung Road and Tonghua Street was just a traditional morning market serving the surrounding residential neighborhoods. As Taipei's East District flourished, the demand for midnight snacks from off-duty blue-collar workers and locals skyrocketed. Vendors gradually extended their hours deep into the night, setting up stalls along both sides of Linjiang Street, eventually evolving into the iconic night market we know today. Its most captivating feature is how it perfectly preserves the roots of old Taipei's culinary culture while also giving rise to globally inspired, trendy eateries thanks to its proximity to the Xinyi Shopping District and the foreign embassy area.
· -----------------------------
## 🚇 How to Get There
Getting to Tonghua Night Market is super convenient via Taipei's efficient MRT system:
· By MRT: Take the Tamsui-Xinyi Line (Red Line) to Xinyi Anhe Station. Take Exit 3, walk straight along Xinyi Road, and turn right onto Tonghua Street. After about a 5-minute walk, you'll spot the glowing neon sign of Linjiang Street Night Market on your left.
· From Taipei 101: If you've just wrapped up sightseeing or shopping at Taipei 101, take a leisurely 15 to 20-minute stroll along Xinyi Road to get directly to the night market. It's the perfect final stop for a day trip.
· -----------------------------
## ⏰ Time of Operations & Best Time to Visit
· Operating Hours: Daily from 18:00 to 24:00
· 💡 Pro Tip: The peak hours are from 19:30 to 21:30 daily when the crowds are thickest. If you want to grab your food easily and skip the long lines, it's highly recommended to arrive right when it opens around 18:00. The ingredients are at their freshest, and service is super fast!
· -----------------------------
## 📸 Best Photo Spots to Slay on Social Media (Best Photo Spots)
Who says you can only take pictures of food at a night market? Tonghua Night Market is hiding some seriously dramatic cityscapes:
1. The Linjiang Street Archway and Taipei 101 in One Frame: Stand in front of the night market archway at the intersection of Keelung Road and Linjiang Street, and use your phone's ultra-wide lens to shoot backward. You can capture the dazzling neon signs of the night market right alongside the towering Taipei 101 in the background. It creates a stunning, cyberpunk-style Taipei shot packed with contrast.
2. The Lava Moment at Yu Pin Yuan Ice Fire Tangyuan: The moment they place those piping hot, handmade sesame rice balls (tangyuan) on top of the shaved ice, hit record on your phone! Gently poke a hole in the tangyuan with your chopsticks and capture the black sesame paste slowly oozing out like volcanic lava over the snow-white ice. It is absolute food porn that will guarantee a ton of likes on your feed.
· -----------------------------
## 🥢 Must-Eat Popular Restaurants & Trendy Hotspots
Besides traditional charcoal BBQ, sweet potato balls, and sausages, this place boasts two iconic hotspots loved by trendy youngsters, plus a mind-blowing soul-comforting dessert:
## 1. 🍜 18 Champion Beef Noodles
This isn't your average street-side noodle stand; it's a legendary beef noodle joint worshipped by late-night foodies in Taipei!
· Vibe: Offers a clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable dining space, giving you a brief rescue from the sweltering night market heat.
· Must-Order: Champion Braised Beef Noodles. The broth is slow-simmered for hours, resulting in a rich, mellow flavor with a classic, subtle spicy and numbing kick. The beef and tendon are braised until they literally melt in your mouth, pairing perfectly with the incredibly chewy handmade wide noodles. Every bite is pure bliss.
## 2. 🍗 Weekend Fried Chicken
This viral joint takes traditional Taiwanese fried chicken to the next level with a trendy twist. It's currently the go-to nightlife hangout spot for the cool crowd in Taipei.
· Vibe: Packed with neon lights and high energy, it rocks a retro-chic Taiwanese Izakaya style. The music and atmosphere are totally on point.
· Must-Order: The Ultimate Taiwanese Fried Chicken. The crust is fried to an insanely golden crisp, and it bursts with juices the second you take a bite. The chicken blends the aromas of garlic, white pepper, and a secret sauce, offering a perfect mix of savory and sweet.
· 💡 Ordering Tip: You absolutely have to pair it with an ice-cold Taiwanese draft beer. This slightly tipsy Taiwanese romance is a match made in heaven!
## 3. 🍧 Soul Dessert: Yu Pin Yuan Ice Fire Tangyuan
This is a hall-of-fame dessert that earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation, and there's always a line, no matter the season.
· Star Item: Ice Fire Sesame Tangyuan (shaved ice base topped with osmanthus honey).
· The Mind-Blowing Way to Eat It: Freshly boiled handmade sesame tangyuan are placed straight onto the shaved ice. This "cold on the outside, hot on the inside" temperature clash creates a magical texture—the black sesame filling is rich and fragrant, while the skin instantly turns incredibly bouncy when it hits the cold ice.
· Secret Hack: Be sure to eat the hot tangyuan first before the skin gets hard. Once you're done, take your leftover shaved ice to the self-serve bar and drizzle on their homemade osmanthus honey and fresh lemon juice for free. The original shaved ice instantly transforms into a floral, refreshing, sweet-and-sour perfect ending!
· -----------------------------
## 🛍️ Must-Visit Highlights: Curated Taiwanese Cultural & Creative Souvenir Shops
After eating and drinking your fill, check out the nearby lifestyle and souvenir boutique shops hidden within and around the night market. They sell a variety of designer goodies packed with local Taiwanese elements, like retro canvas tote bags printed with bubble tea or the classic Taiwanese "Gaji" bag patterns, Formosan black bear stationery, quirky magnets, and daily utensils that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. These items are delicate, full of Taiwanese humor, and budget-friendly—making them the perfect place to pick up cultural souvenirs or practical gifts for your foreign friends.
· -----------------------------
## 🎒 What to Prepare & Travel Tips
· Bring Enough Cash: While some modern sit-down restaurants accept credit cards or mobile payments, the vast majority of traditional food stalls and clothing vendors only take New Taiwan Dollars (NTD) in cash. It's highly recommended to keep plenty of 100 NTD bills in your bag.
· Wear Light and Breathable Clothes: Night markets get packed and hot. We suggest wearing breathable, cool clothing and a comfy pair of flats or sneakers for walking.
· Smart Trash Disposal: There are very few public trash cans in Taiwanese night markets. If you're holding empty cups or skewers, just hand them to the vendor at your next stop—they are usually more than happy to help throw away the trash from your previous snack!
· Squeeze in a Foot Massage: The area around Tonghua Street is packed with highly-rated, reasonably-priced foot massage parlors. After a long day of eating and walking, we highly recommend booking ahead on the Trip.com App or just walking into a shop for a 30-minute foot massage to melt away the travel fatigue!
