Stunning Infinity Pool in Taipei | A Relaxing Getaway Even with Kids Sometimes, when staying at a hotel, you really don't have to travel far away. This time, we brought the kids for a stay at the Grand Hilai Taipei, and chose a high-floor room, during the day, you can enjoy the city skyline of Nangang, and at night, gazing at the city lights out the window, is actually incredibly cozy. The room features a simple and comfy design, with massive floor-to-ceiling windows that make the space super bright, and the bathroom even comes with a freestanding bathtub. Heading back to the room for a soak at night, is such a nice way to unwind. The hotel's location is also super convenient, there's a skybridge on the 2nd floor connecting directly to LaLaport Nangang, so you can just stroll right over for food and shopping. Just a heads-up, though, the 2nd-floor skybridge is only open until 7 PM. Bringing the kids this time, the thing we looked forward to most was hitting the pool. The hotel's infinity pool is seriously gorgeous, flanked by skyscrapers on both sides, when you're swimming, you get a sprawling view of the cityscape, and it's incredibly photogenic. Taking the kids for a splash, while the adults supervise nearby, you can easily spend a whole afternoon just hanging out there. The pool's locker room is quite comfortable too, equipped with AC and hair dryers, so it doesn't feel stuffy when you're changing after a swim. The only catch is, that towels aren't provided in the locker room, so remember to bring one in with you. Later, while chatting with some seniors from the Rotary Club, I learned, they mentioned the hotel's towels go through a rigorous washing and sanitization process, their hygiene standards are pretty top-notch, which sounded really reassuring. If the adults want to switch gears and relax, the hotel also has gender-separated saunas available. Just note that the saunas are for adults only, so kids aren't allowed in. If you're here with the kids, you can accompany them to swim and play in the water, then the adults can take turns hitting the sauna for some downtime. There's also a spa that can be booked, giving parents a little well-deserved me-time. I really think that when you stay here with kids, there's no need to jam-pack your itinerary. Swim during the day, grab a bite and shop at LaLaport, chill at the hotel, and take in the high-altitude night views. No need to hop between tourist spots, and absolutely no rushing around. Plus, the bedroom, bathroom, and closet are all incredibly spacious—you could practically run around in there! It’s such a luxury to find a room like this in Taipei. Upon checking in, I received two welcome drink vouchers. You can head over to the Lobby Court or Li Bai Lounge first to redeem them and relax for a bit. The next morning features an incredibly lavish buffet breakfast 🍽️ I have to rave about their selection—there are so many options! I was completely stuffed afterward~~ The lounge on the 38th floor was my absolute favorite. At first, we just planned to pop into a convenience store while walking around, but once we stepped inside, we realized this branch had way more charm than we anticipated. The store features Snoopy-themed decorations in multiple corners, creating a lovely atmosphere that really sets it apart from a typical 7-ELEVEN. We had so much fun looking around that we ended up staying a lot longer than planned. Our absolute favorite part was the exclusive Snoopy merchandise. Every single item was so adorable that it made us stop and stare. Even though we originally didn’t intend to buy anything, we ended up finding plenty of things we wanted to take home as souvenirs. This turned the store from a simple place to grab daily essentials into a delightful detour that added a fun little touch to our trip. Another reason this branch is worth a visit is its highly convenient location. It’s perfectly situated for anyone strolling around Ximending or heading toward Taipei Main Station. You can easily squeeze it in as a quick rest stop. It doesn't take much time, but it definitely brightens up your travel day. For Snoopy fans and lovers of character-themed stores in particular, stumbling upon a spot like this while exploring the city makes the trip all the more memorable. Overall, we think this is one of those great little spots in Taipei where you can walk in with no expectations and leave feeling pleasantly surprised.
