🏖️Environment/Facilities: I stayed in the Deluxe Double Room, which was very spacious, clean, and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. The soundproofing was excellent; I didn't hear any other guests coming or going. There were complimentary drinks in the refrigerator. I was very satisfied with everything about the hotel! 📍Location: Extremely convenient, closest to Taishan MRT Station Exit Z8, but it's currently under construction and closed. You can take Exit Z6, but that involves climbing stairs. If you have luggage or don't want to climb stairs, you can take Exit Z4 or Z1 (elevator). Exits M5 and K12 both have escalators; after that, you need to cross the street, which is only a 1-2 minute walk. 🤡Features: The lobby is on the 4th floor, decorated like a carnival 🎪, with a great atmosphere. Besides free snacks, there's also tea served daily from 2-4 pm, which is quite delicious. 🛎Service: I especially want to commend their service. I accidentally broke a glass mouthwash cup in the room. I was embarrassed but couldn't clean it myself, so I called the front desk for help. I repeatedly apologized to the staff for causing them trouble, and they were very kind, first checking if I was hurt, and then patiently cleaning up the glass shards. Having tried so many brunch spots in downtown Taipei, "Grassroots Brunch" is definitely one of the best value brunch options in the city. Perhaps because it's near a university (National Taiwan University, Taiwan's top university), the prices are very affordable. Specializing in brunch, each brunch item comes with a drink, plus a 10% service charge, and you can definitely eat your fill for under TWD 350. Features: 1. The standard brunch fries can be replaced with Taiwanese-style fried glutinous rice balls. 2. In addition to the standard coffee or black tea, you can also change your drink to a cocktail. I especially recommend the "Lychee Oolong Tea Cocktail," with its subtle lychee and oolong tea aroma, giving you a blissful, slightly tipsy feeling in the morning. 3. After finishing your tea cocktail, you can get a free refill of black tea to recharge before heading out. 4. The classic brunch platter I ordered this time wasn't amazing, but considering the price (TWD 297 for the set shown in the photo) and its location in downtown Taipei, it's a great deal. Despite the early hour, the atmosphere was energetic, with staff moving swiftly and efficiently behind the counters. I ordered their signature hot soy milk soup and a piece of crispy fried dough (you tiao). The soy milk was lightly salted, with a subtle sweetness and deep, comforting soybean flavor. It felt both nourishing and nostalgic — the kind of breakfast that warms you from the inside out. Though simple, every bite told a story of tradition. It’s easy to see why this place is loved by locals and tourists alike. Watching the trays of freshly baked sesame flatbread come out of the oven, and the clinking of bowls as steaming soy milk is poured, made me feel immersed in the heart of Taiwanese food culture. If you’re visiting Taipei, wake up early and make your way here.
