Visiting Ulaanbaatar. 🇲🇳 Damdin Sükhbaatar | Ulaanbaatar Visiting Ulaanbaatar, another spot we stopped to capture some photos is the Damdin Sükhbaatar Monument 🐎. As you get closer, the monument looks incredibly striking. It features a statue on horseback set upon a massive stone base. On a day with a sky as blue as this, taking a shot from a low angle looking up is just stunning 📸. What we really liked is the surrounding atmosphere, which clearly feels like the heart of the Mongolian capital. On one side, you have a monument reflecting the history of the past, while on the other, modern buildings rise up around it—a perfect harmony of old and new. Damdin Sükhbaatar is a significant figure in Mongolian history, and his name is visible in many places across Ulaanbaatar. Seeing the monument in person felt like more than just a quick photo—it was a way to understand the country’s story a bit better 🇲🇳. It doesn't take long to visit. You can stop by for photos and then continue exploring the city center. If you get a day with good weather and clear skies, I recommend trying a low-angle shot like in the pictures; it captures both the statue and the vast, beautiful sky. You'll use it. 🚌 TRANSPORT: The 500 Tugrik Bus That Beats Every Taxi The mistake starts at Ulaanbaatar airport. Taxis quote $15–25 to the city center. The airport shuttle bus costs around 2,500 MNT (€0.70) and takes about an hour. Once you're in the city, buses are the backbone — a single ride costs 500–700 MNT with a U-Money chip card, or as little as 200 MNT on some trolleybus routes. The train truth.
