Leonardo Hotel Vienna Hauptbahnhof
If you're visiting Vienna for the first time, don't try to "take it all in"—this is a city meant to be experienced slowly. Here, music isn't just in the concert halls; it's in the coffee shops, the streets, and even in the way the light falls on the facades. ☕️ Morning 🥐 Start the day with breakfast at Café Central or Café Sperl—old coffee houses where breakfast turns into a mini-performance 🚶♀️ Stroll along Ringstrasse, stopping by the Vienna State Opera and Parliament 🎨 Visit the Albertina or the Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM)—masterpieces, silence, and the perfect pause 🌳 Afternoon 🏰 Visit Schönbrunn Palace—be sure to go out into the park, where you can get lost among the alleys 🎵 If you love music, the Haus der Musik museum offers interactive experiences about Mozart, Beethoven, and the Viennese School 🍲 Lunch—at Naschmarkt: fresh pasta, oriental spices, coffee, and a lively conversation at the next table 🌆 Evening 🌅 Sunset at Stephansdom and a stroll through the old town 🍷 Dinner at Plachutta – grab a Viennese Tafelspitz and a glass of Grüner Veltliner 🎻 A concert at the Musikverein or Wiener Konzerthaus – if you can catch a live performance, it's an unforgettable moment 📍 Vienna is a city where time moves to the rhythm of a waltz. There's no need to run here – just walk and listen to the city breathe. #Vienna #TripCom #Austria #WeekendInVienna #TravelEurope #CoffeeCulture #ClassicalVibes
Schönbrunn Palace
Following Part 1 in Munich and Salzburg, this time we head to Vienna! Three days and nights filled with classical music vibes and Christmas markets, it feels like living in a Mozart-era fairytale. Vienna's architecture is stunningly luxurious, and the city becomes even more magical when the winter lights come on. The transportation is convenient (highly recommend getting a travel pass), and the food and coffee are incredibly satisfying. Let me share this super chill itinerary with you! Day 5: December 17 - Arrival in Vienna, Exploring the Inner City on Foot + Classic Schnitzel At 07:07 in the morning, we took an ÖBB train directly from Salzburg to Vienna (booked in advance, €39.8 for two people, about 2.5 hours journey). We stayed at the Garner Hotel Vienna, which has a great location. After arriving at the station, we grabbed breakfast (lots of options, surprisingly good!) and dropped off our luggage before starting our walk from Belvedere Palace to the inner city, enjoying the street views and getting familiar with this elegant city. At 1 PM, we went to Figlmüller Wollzeile for their golden schnitzel (reservation required). The schnitzel was huge, perfectly golden and crispy, with a squeeze of lemon juice—it was rich but not greasy, an absolute must-try in Vienna! Afterward, we continued exploring: the Anker Clock, grabbing Kaiserschmarrn to-go from Cafe Demel, Graben shopping street, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Augustinian Church, Sisi Museum, Heroes’ Square, Hofburg Palace, Mozart Monument... one stunning attraction after another, with architecture so beautiful it was overwhelming. We took so many photos! In the evening, we had dinner at the Christmas market in front of the City Hall, enjoying hot food and mulled wine. After 4 PM, the sky darkened, and the lights came on, creating a super romantic atmosphere. We walked back to the hotel to end the day. Day 6: December 18 - Coffeehouse Pilgrimage + Christmas Market Hopping In the morning, we bought a 48-hour travel pass at the station (€28.2, great value!) and headed to Cafe Central at 8 AM. We were lucky to be among the first customers to get in. We ordered apple strudel, Sachertorte, and Viennese coffee. The atmosphere was both classical and cozy—a must-visit spot! Next, we visited Palais Kinsky, Beethoven’s House, and returned to the City Hall Christmas Market. It was full of surprises! Starting from the children’s area, there were adorable nativity stalls, puppet shows, a carousel, and a Ferris wheel. Then we entered the main market, where a giant Christmas tree with the City Hall as the backdrop made for perfect photos. There were all kinds of delicious food, mulled wine, and unique souvenirs, including a stall selling collectible market mugs. (Bathroom tip: if you don’t want to pay, just take the subway back to the hotel, haha.) In the afternoon, we took the subway to Schönbrunn Palace. The Christmas market outside the palace was also fantastic! Giant stars, Christmas tree photo spots, an ice rink, a Lindt hot chocolate stall, and a children’s area. The museum gift shop even had free restrooms, which was very thoughtful. We then visited Naschmarkt, which was just okay (you can skip it). Later, we stopped by the Haydn Monument for a photo and discovered a small market and shopping street nearby that were unexpectedly more interesting. For dinner, we had fried fish at Nordsee, which was affordable and tasty! Day 7: December 19 - Following the Footsteps of Musicians + A Perfect Finale at the Golden Hall We continued using the 48-hour travel pass, starting with breakfast at the train station before heading to the Beethoven Monument. From there, we walked to Stadtpark to find the Johann Strauss II and Schubert Monuments, then strolled along the Danube River. For lunch, we found a five-star-rated small restaurant, Parmanós Wien, on Google Maps. The pasta was incredibly delicious—a delightful surprise! In the afternoon, we rested at the hotel before heading to the Musikverein for a photo op. We then visited the Brahms Monument, which is right next to the Karlskirche Christmas Market. Though small, it had a charming atmosphere. We took the tram to the Belvedere Christmas Market (it was too early on the first day, so it wasn’t open). After dark, we returned to the hotel to relax. The highlight of the trip: at 7:30 PM, we attended a concert at the Golden Hall (tickets purchased in advance). The hall’s lighting was magnificent, and the moment the music started, I got goosebumps all over. It was the perfect ending to our Vienna trip! Vienna is truly ideal for those who love music, architecture, and the Christmas atmosphere. The winter markets are abundant, so I recommend layering up and getting a travel pass. The subway is super convenient, allowing you to return to the hotel and head out again without wasting much time. Next, we’ll head back to Germany to visit Nuremberg. Stay tuned for Part 3 once I’ve organized everything. Feel free to ask me any questions! 🎄✨

Kunsthistorisches Museum
✨ The Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien is one of the world's most important art museums. Its collection encompasses ancient Egyptian artifacts, classical antiquities, and classic works by European masters such as Rembrandt, Rubens, and Vermeer. It is vast in scale and of exceptional artistic value. In the central domed hall of this magnificent museum sits the stunning "Café-Restaurant." The golden dome and frescoes overhead, surrounded by marble colonnades, create an immersive atmosphere! ☕ Order a classic Viennese Melange and the famous Sachertorte chocolate cake, sit back and relax in this artistic ambiance, and enjoy a truly relaxing moment. When visiting the Kunsthistorisches Museum, it's best to allocate two periods of time—one for the exhibition halls and one for the café. Not only can you enjoy light meals and desserts, but you can also immerse yourself in Vienna's coffee culture! ⏰ Useful Information 📍 Location: Central Dome Hall of the Museum (Museum ticket required for entry) 🕙 Opening Hours: Daily 10:00–17:30, extended to 22:00 on Thursdays 🥐 Breakfast: Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10:00–12:00 🍴 Dinner: Special dinners are served every Thursday evening (advance reservations required), set menus from €42 ✅ Tips: Avoiding the midday rush makes it easier to find a good spot; dinner seating is limited, so early reservations are recommended. 📸 If you've already been, share a beautiful photo of yourself in the Dome Hall! For those planning a trip, save this guide and don't forget to bring it with you when you visit Vienna.
Schönbrunn Palace
#hellochristmas Nighttime Vienna is straight-up magical. The streets are glowing with twinkling lights, and folks are just vibing, strolling along historic sidewalks surrounded by epic Western and Chinese architecture. It’s giving major holiday fairytale vibes!🎄✨ If you’re searching for the ultimate winter wonderland, Vienna is a solid TOP1 in my book. Come December, the whole city transforms into a Christmas fantasy town — seriously, every corner feels like you’ve walked into a movie set! 📍Major Markets You *Got* to Hit: ① Rathausplatz Christmas Market (Rathausplatz, 1010 Wien, Austria) This is Vienna’s biggest and oldest market, and the vibes are insane. Picture a giant Christmas tree, magical light shows, and that majestic city hall right behind you — it’s like Diagon Alley from Harry Potter, IRL. Must-try: freshly grilled Vienna sausages and piping hot mulled wine (Glühwein) 🔥. The flavors? Soo good! ② Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market (Schönbrunner Schloßstraße 47, 1130 Wien, Austria) Celebrate Christmas in front of Sisi’s iconic baroque palace! Surrounded by thousands of sparkling lights, this is a total photo hotspot. My personal rec: Apple cinnamon rolls and handmade crystal snow globes. And don’t miss the choir singing under a starry sky — talk about magical moments! ③ MuseumsQuartier Christmas Market (Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Wien, Austria) This one’s all about modern vibes — trendy jewelry, artsy handmade goodies, and live jazz dropping in the background. If you’ve got a thing for unique gifts, this is your treasure island. And the viral choco-strawberry skewers? Both a treat for your tastebuds and your feed! 📸 Photo Hacks: - Catch the “blue hour” around 4pm for next-level dreamy light shots. - Wear a light-colored coat + fuzzy hat for instant Instagram energy. - Use a hot mug of mulled wine or a gingerbread man as your prop for extra festive feels. - Night shots in front of the Schönbrunn carousel? Absolutely iconic! 🌟Quick Tips: - Most markets are open from mid-November to December 24th. - Go at night for chill vibes and less crowd — trust, it’s the best time! - Bring cash! A lot of stands don’t take cards. - Rock some non-slip boots—snowy cobblestones are gorgeous but slippery! Make this Vienna Christmas adventure your ultimate holiday core memory! Vienna City Hall
A light drizzle fell on the way from our hotel, Novotel, to the Military History Museum, adding a touch of hazy beauty to the streetscape. The museum was more impressive than I expected. One exhibit on the Sarajevo assassinations clearly explained the causes and consequences of World War I, even more so than textbooks. Seeing the photograph of a young man who had lost a leg in the war, I thought about how important peace is. He would have to live the rest of his life with a disability, a truly poignant moment. After leaving the Military History Museum, we had lunch at VAPIANO. The pasta was made to order and served steaming hot. Both the pasta and pizza were to our liking, and we even went back for it again the night before leaving Vienna. The next day, we embarked on a city sightseeing tour, visiting all the must-see attractions in Vienna. At noon, we chose to picnic in the park next to the City Hall, listening to a live piano performance. We felt like locals for a moment; perhaps influenced by the atmosphere, even my son, who knows nothing about music, sat quietly listening. It seems that even those who aren't usually interested in art can be captivated by the rich cultural atmosphere of Vienna. Beautiful architecture is everywhere, and exquisite sculptures can be found around every corner. Vienna is like a museum you can visit without buying a ticket. 🩸Tip: Kinski Palace in the city center is free to enter. Built in 1717, this Baroque palace boasts a magnificent interior and is a great place for taking photos. 🩸Tip: You can book a free guided tour of the Reichstag Building online 30 days in advance. English/German tours are available. 🩸Tip: The Wien Museum has three permanent exhibitions on Viennese history, which are free to visit. 🚗Transportation: Various day passes are available, allowing unlimited travel on the subway and trams. We visited during the Easter holidays, when children could ride the Vienna subway and trams for free. Check online before you go for holiday discounts. 🏠Accommodation: Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof, opposite Vienna Central Station, conveniently located near train, subway, and tram lines. Comfortable and clean. There's a famous FERHAT DÖNER kebab restaurant nearby, but be prepared to queue; it's recommended to go as soon as it opens. #Vienna #ViennaMilitaryMuseum #NovotelVienna #Novotelwien
