Very good service and very accommodating. All the staff were wonderful, and the breakfast selection was excellent. I especially loved their hot chocolate and Filipino delicacies. They kindly approved my early check-in and even prepared a birthday surprise, as shown in one of the photos. The place is very clean and has a beautiful beachfront. We will be back soon. Love that food and drinks has reasonable pricing. Overall i am impressed.

I was really worried after seeing some negative reviews online, but my experience here totally exceeded my expectations! Right from the entrance, there's a dedicated security guard with a firearm, and they check your reservation details every time you come in. The views are absolutely unbeatable. The BBC rooms are quieter than the Ocean and Thomas room types because there are fewer of them. The staff are also fantastic and very welcoming! If you walk a few hundred meters from the hotel entrance, you can take a tuk-tuk or just walk to the main road outside where there's a 7-Eleven and some local street food restaurants. A tuk-tuk to Alona Beach costs 200 pesos. If you have some space in your luggage, I recommend bringing some instant noodles, just in case you don't fancy the restaurant food – it's a good backup! 😁 Walking along the beach towards the Ocean and Thomas resorts, they both have security guards who will ask for your room number. Every time I went there and met a guard, they were all really nice and let me look around. The beach in front of Thomas has a lot of seaweed, the Ocean's beach is decent, but BBC's is absolutely stunning! Everyone's experience is different, of course.

This hotel's service is the kind that ruins your day. I was asked for my room number three times. The first two times were fine, and the inquiries were at least polite. But once, when my child was playing in the pool, a male attendant came over and very sternly asked for my room number. His look and expression made me feel like he thought I was some outsider trying to sneak into their pool! It was incredibly offensive! To top it off, our child cut their toe in the pool. When I mentioned it to them that evening, there wasn't even a single 'sorry.' I initially thought about sending an email to complain, but then decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I definitely don't recommend this hotel! The food was also bad; even the butter at breakfast was some unfamiliar local Filipino brand.

The hotel overall is decent, and the environment is nice. However, the biggest drawback is the lack of hot water for showers. You have to request hot water from the front desk in advance. Unfortunately, even after I asked the front desk for hot water, I ran the tap for ages and only cold water came out – I almost caught a cold! In the end, a staff member boiled water in a kettle and gave me a bucket to shower. I don't know which genius came up with this failed energy-saving design of not even installing a water heater, it's truly speechless. Plus, the hotel doesn't provide thick duvets, only thin duvet covers, quite similar to some hotels in European countries.

Definitely one of the better hotel/resorts that I've encountered during my travels in the Philippines. The hotel itself is located in a beautifully secluded lot that's surrounded by vegetation & conveniently placed a stones throw away from the main commercial centre which hosts a supermarket & even a DIY shop. The rooms are very comfortable, clean & all come with a balcony & modern AC as standard. But the best part is the large pool which lights up at night & is by the restaurant which serves good coffee, pizza & an excellent Thai curry. If you have transport then i would highly recommend staying here.

A fantastic experience! The hotel is located halfway up a mountain, offering views of both the mountains and the sea. It's also close to nearby attractions. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with our luggage (there are many steps). The rooms were clean and tidy, which I was very satisfied with. The best part was that there were three different swimming pools in different areas, perfect for a family. Oh, and the owner even set up a cat café, which was a lovely touch.

The furniture and bedding were comfortable and the accommodation was very tasteful. It was in a location where I didn't have to worry about food, and I was able to enjoy the day and night to the fullest even without any activities. Anyway, the location is good, and if you walk down a little path you will find Alona Pawikan. A rich place where you can wake up to the sound of roosters in the morning. It's a comfortable place with no noise from motorbikes or horns. I would like to use it again if I come to Panglao Island. When I asked about it at checkout, I was told that it was made by a Swede.

The room was good and clean. The staff were very friendly and polite. We arrived after the check-in desk had closed, but I contacted reception via WhatsApp, and they left the keys with the security guard. The pool is quite spacious, though not very deep. Relaxing by it after diving was really enjoyable. The only downside for me was the blanket being too warm and the A/C blowing directly on the bed, making it tricky to find a comfortable setup for both. WiFi worked well near the pool, on the balcony, and in the living room, but not on the bed. However, that wasn’t a big issue for us.

The location is very good, right next to Bestwestern, and it takes 3 to 4 minutes to walk to the central McDonald's and the beach. However, there is a quagmire and gravel road outside the hotel. It is very harsh and muddy, and it is difficult to walk on. Driving is also very shaking. The room hygiene and hardware are very average and not as good as the domestic Hanting. However, the design of the hotel's public area is still more thoughtful. Breakfast is a fixed set meal and the standard is average.

The hostel is very nice, close to the beach. It’s a few minutes drive but not too far from the busier area so it’s perfect if you want to relax and be in a more quiet area. Nice swimming pool. The prices of the food are a bit high for a hostel but okay. Didn’t enjoy the cold shower, surprising for a hostel of this standing. Not the most social hostel. Also, I woke up the second night with a lot of insect bites on my arms which looked a lot like bed bugs bites. Can’t confirm it really was this but putting it there just in case.

Overall a normal hotel, the most adequate in price of all on the first line, breakfasts are small, but always different. BUT there is a big minus, this is the beach, Alona Beach is a beach for divers, you will not get a beach holiday here, the whole beach is in boats and yachts, even if you go to the beach of the Henana hotel, there is also not super beautiful water and sand. We did not know that this is a divers' beach. Otherwise we would have stayed in Cebu to continue our holiday.

A very nice complex with beautiful palm trees, a good pool and a private beach. The whole place is a little remote. It is quite as long you don't care about a few plans going the right above the entry way to the small local airport and some remote noise from the hostel. The private beach is more for the view than to actually swim. But that's the pool for.

There is nothing like this on Panglao, when you live in the silence of the jungle, surrounded by nature and excellent service. Excellent breakfasts, when you order exactly what you want, and do not choose from the buffet from the leftovers. We did not have time to try all the breakfast options in a week. The Paprika restaurant itself is one of the best on the island, located on a cliff with a beautiful view of the sea. The service is ideal - you can correspond with the staff via WhatsApp, without having to call. Free transfer to Alona beach, for an additional price we took a trip to the fireflies, a tour of the island of Bohol and a boat for snorkeling. Meeting at the airport and return transfer to the airport was also for money (Attention! Now, to fly from the island, you need to have 900 pesos in cash per person, prepare this money in advance!). The villa itself looks luxurious and spacious, the ceiling made of many crossbars emphasizes the ethnic orientation, and the surrounding of each house with a dense forest with birds singing creates coziness and unity with nature. Of the minuses - I did not like the excursion to the island of Balikasag for snorkeling - early in the morning you swim trying to see dolphins, but the chance to see them is very small, on the island of Balikasag itself they let you swim only 1 hour, and then take you back to the hotel, although the hotel said that the boat is at our disposal and we can swim everywhere and as much as we want. I would also call the hotel's somewhat abandoned state a minus - the stable and spa center look sad, some villas from the outside look abandoned and covered with dry leaves. Since we were in the dry season, the area around the villa was dry, it would be nice if the lawn near the houses was watered, but this may possibly attract extra insects, which, by the way, were almost non-existent, despite the jungle surroundings. The staff speaks excellent English, is smiling and friendly. Thank you for an unforgettable week in a paradise!

The furniture is a bit ”tired”, there are only 2 sockets in the room, there was a fumigator. Excellent hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, complete with a swimming pool. The breakfasts were delicious (you choose your preference the day before: American, Filipino, etc.). Our room had everything we needed. There wasn't an iron, but they happily provided one upon request. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive to all our needs. The pool is open until 10 PM. Just a couple of minor points: it seemed the battery in our safe (Room #205) was dead, but a staff member gave us a key, so we just used that to lock it. Also, it's probably time to change the cartridge in the showerhead, as the pressure was worse than in the rain shower. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and would have loved to stay longer if we didn't have our next destination.

The breakfast offered at a good price is complete and appetizing. In addition to breakfast, they offered us typical desserts, like pastries, as a complimentary gesture. They were at our disposal at all times and very attentive, even after our stay ended. It's a small but very cozy hotel. The common areas on the first floor are really well-decorated, and the hotel offers a wide range of activities and things to do. The food was just okay; breakfast was mediocre, and lunch, dinner, and drinks were all pretty average. But then again, I didn't have high hopes for Filipino food in general. The hotel's service and cleanliness were top-notch, and the beach was beautiful with options like sailing and kayaking. I would like to provide some constructive feedback regarding my recent stay. Firstly, I found the bed to be quite firm, to the point that it affected my comfort. Rather than feeling well-rested, I experienced some back discomfort. A more balanced or supportive mattress would significantly enhance the overall guest experience. Additionally, it appeared that the hotel may be understaffed. When I required assistance with my luggage, there were no staff members readily available, despite the absence of an elevator and the presence of only stairs. I do, however, appreciate the effort of the room service staff member who kindly assisted me. Increasing staff availability, particularly for guest assistance, would be highly beneficial. Regarding breakfast, while the offering was satisfactory, the selection seemed limited and some items were not replenished promptly. More consistent refilling of food items would improve the dining experience for guests. I hope this feedback is helpful and contributes to further improving the quality of service and guest comfort.

I could have stayed for another 4 days but I changed my hotel to another one instead, - here are few things make me not wanting to extend my stay: Before I go on the list, I need to clarify that this hotel does not give permission for TRIP to run the listing, as I was told by the staff. If you book this hotel via trip, then it is trip who books through agoda on your behalf. Be aware of this. If Trip ever say they will contact the property on your behalf, it is a lie. 1. It was extremely frustrating when communicating with the hotel staff. They are nice, and polite but not helpful and not reachable when needed, they would be very polite to say ”sorry” at every single basic request abd they would do nothing about it. And when calling reception from the room, there is hardly anyone answering the call 2. The hotel is not well equipped. 3.The breakfast is at MIST, but not served at the MIST standard, for example, considering the price of this hotel, not expecting to be given instant coffee for breakfast which gives people the shake.

We stayed at the hotel from April 1st to April 10th in room 208 on the second floor and were very satisfied. The beds were comfortable, and the room had everything we needed: a small fridge with a freezer compartment, air conditioning, a TV, and a safe. The bathroom had a hairdryer, toothbrushes, shampoo, and shower gel. Room cleaning was available upon request; you just hung a sign on the door. Each room had a balcony with an armchair and a table. There was a water cooler with hot and cold water on each floor. The pool water was very warm, perfect for a dip before bed. Breakfasts were portioned and didn't offer much variety. You could choose between an American breakfast (one-egg omelet, choice of ham or sausage, and toast with jam and butter), a Continental breakfast (same as American but with fruit – mango and watermelon – instead of meat), and a Filipino breakfast (same as American but with rice instead of toast). Drinks included coffee, tea, juice, and chocolate. Eating the same breakfast for three or four days is fine, but for 10 days, it gets a bit tedious. The hotel is a bit away from the main cluster of bars and restaurants, but that wasn't an issue; we always enjoyed the walk. Alona Beach was about a 10-15 minute walk, but we rarely went there. Instead, we went to Dumaluan Beach (a tricycle ride cost 200 pesos one way for three people), which was much less crowded and cleaner. Entry was 50 pesos per person. There's a restaurant on the beach where you can grab a bite. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at the hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The hotel's style really caught our eye; you could stay here just for that! The room was clean, spacious, and new. All the appliances worked perfectly, and the cleanliness was top-notch. The beds and bedding were simply wonderful – better than any previous hotels we've stayed in. The staff were friendly and resolved all our queries in an instant. The breakfast was a buffet with a very diverse menu; I don't think anyone would leave hungry. There's a small beach nearby. Plus, there's convenient scooter parking right at the hotel entrance, which is a big plus. Highly recommend!

Let's start with the downsides: 1. My room, number 5, had a broken toilet flush button. It's too old and needs replacing. 2. The shower had unstable hot water in the morning, and the water pressure was uneven. It's also too old and needs replacing. 3. There were ants crawling up from the sink. Every time I left the room, I'd close the drain cover and block their path with water. 4. The refrigerator was out of order. 5. The bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on; it was saggy and offered no support. Extremely uncomfortable. 6. The hotel is located near a residential area, so rooster crowing every morning affected my sleep somewhat. 7. The music played in the resort grounds started too early in the morning and ended too late at night. 8. The entire Panglao Island, and perhaps even all rural areas in the Philippines, seems to have a habit of burning trash, so you'd occasionally smell smoke. Now for the positives: 1. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly; they'd greet me every time I passed the front desk. 2. The resort grounds were beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The linens were also very clean. 3. The air conditioning worked great for dehumidifying and cooling. 4. The curtains provided excellent blackout. 5. It's very close to the beach, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. It's a quiet location despite being close to amenities, away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas. Overall: Outdated facilities are the biggest problem with this hotel, and it requires a large-scale upgrade and renovation.

Stayed at Holabay Resort for 2 nights — overall a very pleasant experience. The location is convenient, especially if you’re arriving via Panglao airport. The area is quiet, which is perfect if you want to relax. The room was clean and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities provided. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well — important in this climate. The pool area looked nice and was a good place to unwind. Staff were friendly and responsive, helped with check-in and general questions without any issues. On the downside, the hotel is a bit away from the main tourist spots, so you’ll need transport (bike or taxi). Also, Wi-Fi could be more stable. Overall, good value for money — I’d recommend it for a short stay

The hotel is located near the beach, as well as many cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself has two wings, one of which has a nice pool. The staff was friendly. I would stay here again.
