Wow! What a fantastic crew at this hotel. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. Whatever you want, they will help you find. In addition, they have a simple but quite hospitable breakfast with some decent choices. I think what impressed us the most was the care they took to notice of we needed water, seemed lost, or needed help, even hooking us up for a motorcycle rental. Nice job, great staff, walking distance to a romantic dinner on the beach!

Wonderful experience to staying in the important architecture. The site is originally owned the De Saram bros. and given to the Bawa trust then became an accommodation for public. The building is renovated by Geoffrey Bawa, so it’s must visit for architects and designers. The building is in good condition, it’s not for luxury but for indifferent experience. The master staff is really nice and knowledgeable, he kindly showed me other rooms! I had a pleasant and precious experience here. Note: wifi and hot water is really good. Breakfast is international style. (non Sri Lankan) The main entrance is really deep from the street, you just ring the bell of the huge black gate.

Convenient and comfortable, the kitchen is large, the cookware is complete; 4. The location is ideal, 2 mins walk to a good banana leaf and Chinese restaurant and walking distance to 2 shopping malls. The room is clean, service very good and the continental breadfast is marvellous. Eggs cooked to your liking. However finding it the first time may be a problem as the lobby is at the 2nd floor and the staircase entrance is at a corner next to a ministore.

🥰 I was very impressed with the accommodation. It was clean, had a great view, and had a pool and a fitness center. The owner was very polite to the residents. If I ever get to stay again, I would definitely give it 5 stars.

The “hotel” is much more beautiful than it is actually. The majority of the building is not yet built or is being completed. The lobby is not existing since it is only completed. There is no real reception where a recording of guests happens. Furthermore, the English of all staff is extremely deficient or unexisting, making communication impossible even if all staff were very friendly and pre-existent. When booking a room, book a room (with bathroom and shower) in a apartment with several other guests. (With us there were 2 more rooms located, which provides less relaxed atmosphere overall) The washing basin is partially affected by unscifer (see picture).

The attendants were very nice and helpful. The main entrance to the hostel was a bit tricky to find from the ground floor of the building but absolutely walkable to and from Colombo Fort Railway station. It is also close enough to some restaurants and convenience stores. It is clean enough but the room where I stayed had no window curtains. However, each bed has its own power outlets and the bathrooms are inside the dormitories. They also provide clean bath towels for free. For the free breakfast, we were served with some toasts, butter, jam, juice, a banana and a slice of watermelon. This hostel is perfect for people on a budget who have the most basic needs.
