It offers multiple room options (studio and 1-3 bedrooms). Since I got the 3-bedroom but ended up going solo, I chose to sleep in different rooms every night for funsies 😆
The place is far from the attractions (30 min drive to Georgetown) but only 12 minutes away from the airport which came in handy when I couldn’t book a grab for my departure flight. Thankfully I arrived to the airport with a few minutes to spare 😮💨
I appreciated the bespoke towels and toiletries. The water filtration system was also wonderful. You can have cold, hot, and ambient temperature water. The kitchen has the necessary equipment for cooking (no condiments or cooking ingredients which is understandable) but I only used the fridge and microwave.
The primary bedroom is spacious and has an en suite. The middle room is the smallest but still has a queen sized bed (the other bedrooms have a king bed). The internet connection is fast but the third room has spotty wifi sometimes.
Water pressure is good. Enjoyed hot showers at night. They also provide hair dryer. While exploring the amenities I found the iron and board at the 13th floor (there’s also vending machines). The room has a washing machine but I didn’t use it.
I felt safe and secure throughout my stay. The room has an electronic door knob so you only need the code to get in but a keycard is necessary to use the elevator and access the amenities (I was given 2 during the check in).
When I go back to Penang, I will choose this place again (maybe a smaller room this time if it’s another solo trip).

My stay at U Hotel this time was acceptable and noticeably better than my previous visit. The room appeared to be better maintained, especially the air conditioner, which seemed to have been recently serviced. The room was able to get properly cold, unlike my earlier stay where even setting the temperature to 16°C still felt warm.
The room was equipped with a small Mi TV, which was adequate for basic viewing. The hotel’s location is also quite convenient, with easy access to nearby shops and surrounding areas.
Another improvement compared to my previous stay was that there were no sudden alarm sounds outside the room, which had been quite disruptive before. Overall, while the experience was not exceptional, it was satisfactory and more comfortable than my earlier stay.Amin BaqiAmin BaqiHotel is ok for the price paid, just there are a few snags.
1. Poor communication
Usually when there is no reception, the hotel would send a message or email to details the check in process. Not only I did not receive any room number but also got a scare at 2 AM when trying to enter the hotel. The card on the key work to enter the hotel door but did not work to enter the door on the ground floor. HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW TO USE THE BLUE TAG TO SCAN THE LOCK DOOR!
This could have been easily avoided if the hotel would to send a message beforehand.
2. Water problems
For some odd reason, the water was cut off around 8:30 AM for 2 days I stayed at the hotel. I could not bath before going out.
Guest UserGuest UserFound this gem of a place by accident. With many hotels increasing rates during the festive season I managed to book a room here for a price I thought was way below the average for a 3 room unit.
Of course my expectations were not much BUT when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised - what I say a “bang for your buck” - it was near one of the busiest shopping complexes and close to highways which was a breeze until u hit town (obviously). My room even had a sea view.
It’s tucked away outside the busy streets and to me it gave me the extra quietness and calm I needed after a long drive. I hit the pool and tried the gym - not a big gym but “it’s all there”.
This is what I noticed : bus station and airport was in my opinion nearby (no more than a 20min grab ride)
In short you can’t fault this property for the price you’re paying. I will be back! Tq for making the stay memorable.
Oliver BamsOliver BamsB Hotel is truly a budget hotel, and overall I didn’t mind staying here. I understand that you get what you pay for, and for a budget traveler, this hotel is still quite okay. The room was acceptable and suitable for travelers who are mainly looking for a place to rest.
However, there was a small issue that slightly disturbed the stay. The toilet pipes from the upper floor were visible in our bathroom, and they sometimes made sudden loud noises, which could be a bit distracting. Aside from that, everything else was fine.
Overall, it’s an okay option for budget travelers, especially if you don’t have high expectations and are just looking for a practical place to stay.Other Popular Hotels
