I have been looking at hotels with my father for a while, and found this hotel to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to location and facilities. Staff was absolutely professional and especially Heather was incredibly helpful when it came to suggestions for places to eat and leisure. Will absolutely stay again and can't wait to see what this place has more to offer

Watch the world drift by at the Premier Inn Hotel Ipswich Town Centre (Quayside). Just opposite the quayside, you'll be in a great spot for messing about on the river, wandering around town, or visiting the region's businesses. You could take a cruise along the River Orwell, or find buried treasure at the awe-inspiring Sutton Hoo. You could feed the animals at Jimmy's Farm, or step out and explore the city's vibrant bars and restaurants. Then, after a movie at Cardinal's Park, stroll back to our tasty restaurant and extra-comfy beds.

Firstly, the staff are absolutely fantastic. They can't do enough for you, and make you feel extremely comfortable. We had dogs with us and they also made our two dogs feel very welcome. We stayed here for a wedding, and got about 5 hours sleep in two nights, and that's not because of our party life! The hotel is right on the harbour, which is stunning, BUT, you are also right next door to which seems like Ipswich's only club, Isaacs! Our room overlooked Isaacs!! the room was about 30C inside and had NO air con! Therefore we had to have the windows open on both nights and all we heard for two nights was drunks walking up and down and the horrendous music from Isaacs. I know the hotel can't do anything about this, but at least have air con in the room so the windows can be shut and you can ignore the noise! We wouldn't return purely because of this. Gave 3 stars because as I said, the staff were fantastic but overall experience wasn't great.

The hotel is currently under renovation on the second floor and can only be taken to the second floor by the staff elevator, so the overall experience is not ideal. The room is relatively small in general. Some service staff will help us to lay the sofa bed for children, but there are not many good hotels here in Yipu, so this is a convenient hotel from the central city. . No breakfast choice, the restaurant looks small. Parking is 7 pounds a night, which is ok.

I can't fault here at all, all the staff are a credit to the brand and uphold company standards to the highest quality. Calvin's attitude goes above what's expected and is a standout asset to the team. My visits are sporadic, nonetheless, a warm welcome by name as I walk in shows the high level of customer care this place has. 11/10.

So, firstly I'll point out that I got a discount - there was a special offer rate when I booked which was an important factor in my choice (I often stay at The Premier Inn.) If Pentahotel can remain competitively priced, I would choose this hotel again - if not, then probably not. The location is not as good as some competitors, being close to the train station (rarely the best part of any town or city. ) As some people have mentioned, my room was hot - I left the window open which of course makes it noiser given my room overlooked a busy road but I always wear earplugs when sleeping in hotels so it was no problem. I'm not a big fan of air conditioning anyway - unless you're somewhere that's 35 degrees+ One of the receptionists had been to my room whilst I was checking in and switched on the lamps and the TV which was a nice touch (although when I heard the TV I thought there was someone already in my room!) My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable - good pillows, heavy curtains to block out morning light, nice modern bathroom, hairdryer etc. The carpet of the communal area/ hallway on my floor could have done with being vacuumed and checking in at the bar downstairs, rather than at a reception desk, was fine but unusual. Overall, given the facilities versus price at the time, 5/5. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Couldn’t be happier with the service I received and condition of the room upon my unannounced arrival! The gentleman at reception was very friendly, professional and accommodating, (Haroon I think his name was?) I turned up on the off chance they had a spare room, I was very lucky! The room was spacious, clean, and the building was quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay again when in the area, was a real pleasure and an absolute bargain price. We had a one night stay at this hotel and could not fault it. The check in was very efficient and the bedroom clean and well maintained. Food here also got top marks, a good mean and well cooked. We will book here again.

The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent. The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options. In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi. Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility. If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit. This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.
