My 5 year old daughter and I had a staycation for the night during the school holidays. We had a wonderful time. The staff are lovely and the facilities are excellent. The pool area is beautiful with cool music playing and a lovely overall vibe. We had lunch by the pool both afternoons and the food was excellent and the little ones are also well catered for. Set on a leafy 2-acre bush block, the Bird House was hand-built back in the '70s by a marine engineer and his artistic wife. Along with high timber ceilings and wavey walls it offers multiple indoor and outdoor living areas, an office nook, hammock, good Weber BBQ, outdoor entertaining area and a feeling of being surrounded by nature.The house is fenced off from the rest of the block, so you have your own private garden front and back, surrounded by more gardens, ponds, and native trees connecting into the adjoining national park. The calls of many birds fill the air through the day, and at night you can hear the surf hitting the beach when it's big.RECENTLY RENOVATED AND MODERNISED.The house features upgraded electrics, new appliances, reverse cycle air-conditioning (warm in winter and cool in summer), Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, a large flat panel TV, X-Box and games, two renovated bathrooms, and new mattresses in every room.High timber ceilings give the living areas a lovely open feel, while floor-to-ceiling windows let in the light and provide every room with views into the surrounding gardens.Out the back there's an under-cover verandah that runs the full length of the house, as well as an outdoor sitting area that connects the living room with the BBQ area.BEACHES AND WHALES.The Bird House is under 4 minutes drive from One Mile beach, a sweeping curve of sand that offers everything from a family-friendly patrolled area through to excellent surfing.You can also walk through the national park to Samurai Beach, our nearest, in around 15 minutes. Samurai is clothing optional. It can get excellent surf, particularly in the winter months, and there are lovely rock pools to wallow in at low tide.5 minutes away you'll find fantastic whale watching (late May to early August) at Boat Harbour, as well as a sheltered beach which is great for small kids. Nearby Kingsley is a secluded ocean beach that rarely gets crowded and can get good surf. Family of 4 enjoyed our stay. Check-in was quick and easy and we were greeted with wonderful customer service. Apartment was very clean and comfortable. Pool was heated and lovely to swim in. We struggled to get the kids out of it they enjoyed it that much.

There is a swimming pool n self laundry by inserting coins, but no gym. Room is very clean, spacious with comfy bed. But toilet is very small compared with the room size. Buffet breakfast is ok with sparkling wine, but variety can be more.

My 5 year old daughter and I had a staycation for the night during the school holidays. We had a wonderful time. The staff are lovely and the facilities are excellent. The pool area is beautiful with cool music playing and a lovely overall vibe. We had lunch by the pool both afternoons and the food was excellent and the little ones are also well catered for. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The location is perfect, in the middle of Nelson bay. There’s restaurant and shops nearby. Need to de self check in as I arrive 11 pm. The room is ok, clean and big enough, with a nice balcony.

Overall to meet expectations. It is a camp area, there are different cabins, you can drive in the camp car, there are many facilities in the camp, because we leave early and return late, this is not to enjoy the facilities, especially the swimming pool, we simply squander time.  If there are many people, it will be very cost-effective.
The location is also very good, there is a supermarket in less than 10 minutes, convenient for shopping. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the beach, with camels, sandboarding and four-wheel drive.

There is a swimming pool n self laundry by inserting coins, but no gym. Room is very clean, spacious with comfy bed. But toilet is very small compared with the room size. Buffet breakfast is ok with sparkling wine, but variety can be more.
Also tried the dinner in the hotel restaurant n it is just fair

Me and my partner booked a last minute getaway to port Stephen’s for Christmas break. Marina resort did not disappoint! 10/10 service and cleanliness. The staff were so welcoming and lovely throughout our stay. The hotel itself was in prime location of Nelson Bay and close to the beautiful marina. Sea view rooms with a modern touch and stunning interior, very comfortable. Not to forget a modern pool area right outside to relax and enjoy the sun in the day time. They also had the cutest furry friend at reception! Such a friendly pup. Overall, we highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel ❤️

However, the air conditioning was insufficiently warm with low fan speed, and the plantation shutters were outdated, with some not closing properly. When I explained this to the reception staff, they were very apologetic. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here—an absolutely fantastic place.

We stayed in the Remad and were so impressed! The rooms are spacious and underrated , two bedrooms, two bathrooms, plus a spa bath, all with a stunning corner balcony that gives you sweeping views of the entire bay. Absolutely beautiful!
