It was the only available near the station, to spend the night in Grenoble following the removal of my correspondence due to the SNCF strike. Room without furniture (the minibar on a bathtub), no light in the toilet, grilled lamps in the room, no decorative element, just one bed, a small table and two chairs ... is an old hotel that stopped after World War II ... and it stayed like that. Lugubre. After posting my opinion on the booking page I've received insistent, insulting and threatening calls from the owner. When I blocked his fixed number on my mobile, he also sent me threatening SMSs like they had brought plant at the hotel of Police, trying to discourage me from withdrawing my opinion.

|0.24km from city centerIt’s not a bad place to stay, in the grand scheme of things. It’s a shame that the room was backing on to an abandoned building, but you can’t blame the hotel for that. The rooms are rather small, making it quite difficult for two adults to move around at the same time. Some very friendly staff were able to understand my very limited French, which was much poorer than their English. A good continental breakfast selection, but I do think the prices of their spirits were rather on the high side. Overall, a reasonable stay.

|0.57km from city centerThe Residhome Appart Hotel at the “Caserne de Bonne” in Grenoble was one of my classics in the pre-COVID era, and I came back to it recently in the context of a business trip to Grenoble. I was very happy to see that the excellent service, rooms and facilities are still in order. Obviously, we should not forget the amazing location of this hotel, right in the centre of Grenoble (with thus a bunch of shops and restaurants around). I therefore recommend it to anyone interested in a short visit to Grenoble. The room was very nice and clean, and large enough so that I could also work from it and prepare some refreshments in the kitchen space. My room only had a ceiling window, but I was not there for the view so that it was totally fine with me (although this may incommode some). Very importantly, the bed was very comfortable and I slept like a baby. In my reservation, breakfast was included, and I must say that it is a bit better when compared with other hotels of the same category in the Rhone-Alpes region (all basics are there, including in particular a great selection of cheese). Finally, the personnel of the hotel are friendly and always helpful.

I had to continually put my bag on the bed and the cleaning staff took my power cord and electric converter The desk staff was helpful and friendly but there is barely room to change your mind let alone your clothes. The shower shoots across the whole bathroom and the button allowing a less powerful rain bird spray was jammed so the handheld unit which could sand a building was all we could use and the whole room and our stuff took the brunt.

|0.82km from city centerWe stayed at the Park Hotel for 2 nights in early October 2021. The propoerty is well located just a few minutes walk from the historic center and on a nice park. The building looks like a condominium of apartments from the 40-50s in which the hotel was built. Lobby, common areas and dining room are very well furnished with a pleasant classic-modern theme. Our classic room was quite spacious and very comfortable and well equipped with a nice bathroom and free minibar (water and 1 coke), as well as a coffee / tea maker. Really rich and abundant breakfast for every taste. Staff is really kind, always available and took really good care of our requests with great professionalism both before and during our stay. Overall a great stay.

Of this hotel as I arrived in quite a stressful state (a long story to do with the Tour de France in a broken down van). They made me feel most welcome and did everything they could to put me at ease. I stayed one day and was a stress monkey throughout which must’ve been quite annoying to them but they went out of their way to help me (they let me stay and sort out my plans even though the hotel was closing for that weekend) and were genuinely sympathetic to my plight. They are warm and genuinely nice people. I hope to stay when I can relax and enjoy it because it’s a lovely hotel.

Unfortunately, the impression was lubricated by a small incident (refusal of settlement) when it turned out that the prepayment we made did not enter the hotel. To the honour of the hotel staff, they together with the customer support service trip.com quickly solved the problem.
And yet, the hotel is a bit far from the center, but it wasn 't a big problem because we were able to drive to the center by tram.
Breakfast is typically French, very delicious.

|0.92km from city centerThe hotel is located right beside the Grenoble train station in what could be considered as a business district. Surrounding the hotel are a range of offices such as the World Trade Centre and the School of Management. The main centre or more touristic area is a pleasant 10-15 stroll away or indeed you can take the tram. There are a few restaurants and convenience stores located within 5 minute walk. The entrance to the hotel is a little unassuming However upon entry you are greeted with a modern lobby. There is a nice seating area for meeting or enjoying a drink from the bar. This then expands to a restaurant area which gets good reviews and then further to the breakfast area. The fixtures and fittings are to a high standard and have a semi luxurious feel. The check-in was professional however a wait was needed until the room was ready even though it was already 2pm. The room was quite a contrast to the modern plush interior of the lobby. It felt a little dated and showed the signs of aging. The carpet and sofa stained, the curtains ripped, the table edging peeling. The decor of the room appeared a little drab. The room was a privilege room and was spacious with a large double bed (two singles zipped) sofa, desk, chair and lounge chair. It was equipped with a mini bar with complimentary drinks and a coffee pod machine (limescale in the water tank) and large screen TV. The bathroom was split into a separate shower and WC - handy for families I'm sure but not hygienic to have two doors between the toilet and sink. The worst element of this room was that it was located opposite the lift. The lift chimed not only when it landed on that floor, but also it seemed everytime it was used, that could only account for it chiming at least twice a minute in peak times and was loud enough for me to try and put pillows at the door to soundproof it somewhat. The room also didn't get cleaned in the three day stay when I left it empty each morning. Upon return after lunch I requested from the cleaner to at least replenish the tea/coffee but she never returned. Overall, this is a pleasant hotel and good value for money. However my opinion is that it is not up to the standard of other 4 star Novotels in France.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and were happy to accommodate our requests, which was good. The car parking was next to the hotel and very convenient, with direct access in and out of the hotel. The breakfast was also delicious, with scrambled eggs and grilled bacon, which was appreciated by the tourists and business travellers from other countries. If I have the opportunity to come to Grenoble again, I would stay here again.

Baggage had to be hauled over a busy road to the hotel. 17€ for a 24h car park- one time entry only. Critical points Room was cold as air con failed to work overnight - seems to have a timetable of its own. Regardless how cold it was. Room was also dark and in need of an upkeep. Headboard of the bed was badly wasted away and should be changed by now.. Dinner was cold platter only, and mainly vegetarian. Service a little slow. The advice at concierge was not very helpful in finding a restaurant nearby. Price / quality ratio under par. Having said that the corner room was spacious, although no wardrobe - just a hanger.

|0.46km from city centerMy usual hotel was fully booked so i was offered the Ibis Syles as an alternative, it was approx 5 mins walk from the station and was easy to find. Check inn was easy and quick, my room was on the 1st floor. The room was compact but ok for a short stay and was clean and tidy., downside is the room has no safe to store your valuables if needed. The area is ok and is on the main tram and bus route and a short walk to the old town area. Handy tip next door is a supermarket handy for drinks and snacks. My sleep was good and very quiet and a good air conditioning unit to keep you cool. Breakfast is a simple offer, breads and some meats with tea & coffee. If my normal Hotel is not available in the future then i would be ok staying here again.

Covid rules mean that, currently, the room is not serviced each day, so tea, coffee & cups are not replaced. Rooms and general decor are a little tired, but clean and comfortable. Parking space is not guaranteed, so I was luck to arrive early enough to find a space. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. I will continue to stay here on future trips.

The bath/shower was good and always had hot water. 2 chairs and table with tv. The room is not luxurious but has everything you need. There is a pharmcy across the road from the hotel and a supermarket a short walk away. You are also very close to shops and most tourist locations are a short walk away. You are also near bus and tram stops. It is about a 15/20 minute walk to the train/bus station for your return journey.

|0.11km from city centerHotel d'Angleterre is centrally located in Grenoble, an easy 15 minute walk or 5 minute tram ride from the train station and a great base for exploring the old part of Grenoble. The building is an old Hausmannian with windows that face the Place de Victor Hugo or one of the side streets. I found the room large but somewhat dated. I had a quite musty odor on the first two nights and almost asked the front desk to investigate, however I found by the third night the odor was much better, so I ended up not raising the issue. The carpet seemed a little old, but the bed and fixtures were fine. Breakfast was good, with a selection of pastries, fruit, meat, cheese, and the option to boil or fry eggs fresh. After a week, it was a bit repetitive (but what hotel is not guilty of the same?)
