I first stayed at Sydney Hilton in 2006 and the quality is still of that high standard after many years. It’s always great to meet good people, I always look forward to be welcomed by reception staff. On this occasion, Alisa was exceptional. When I asked for a specific room, which was unavailable, Alisa offered a room upgrade, which came with executive lounge access. This was greatly appreciated, as the Lounge on the 36th floor is one of the highlights of staying at the Hilton. It really did make my stay much more memorable. Well done to reception staff, and Alisa particularly. Good job.

The security access using the room key card with the elevators made me feel very safe. High speed elevators very smooth and fast. Suite was spacious as advertised. High elevation suite worth the extra cost. The view makes just being in your room an event. Coffee machine with espresso pods, sugar, and fresh cream in the fridge tasted great. Full kitchen amenities and washer dryer definitely a bonus.From$122

I've never stepped foot in a room for more than $800 with dark curtains surrounding the room, compared to other hotels with cool sunlight and air conditioning. I didn't get breakfast because the waiter refused when I was travelling with the hotel slippers and because my feet hurt not wearing my clogs. Bad and won't be came back!From$221

Good rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card. A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been. Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.From$90

What a relieve when I checked into the Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney! Had a total rip-off by the Sydney Harbour Marriott two blocks away. Marriott is 3-star pretending to be a 5-star. Radisson is a 5-star presenting like a 5-star. Radisson is miles ahead in every aspects compared to the Marriott, Room amenities are so much better, newer and modern, and breakfast is way better too! Bathroom with a tub is a joy compared to the Marriott that don’t even have a door separating the shower.From$172

Overall room was clean, however the USB port in the bedroom did not work, the alarm clock was not set and had an extremely annoying buzz, resulting in I had to unplug it anyway. The directions to the parking was extremely poor, no mention of a lift being used or what to expect. I suggested a flyer could be done to answer any questions for customers needing to use the car park service. There was little to no engagement of the staff about this and were only able to restate the poor information that was already given. I felt like a number and not a paying customer. It would seem your attention to details is lacking, and this would flow down from management to floor staff.From$123

Had a staycation for one night on Friday 7th October as a surprise for my partner’s 40th birthday. We loved it! We were really impressed with the service and the quirky aesthetics. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly. We were given complimentary drink vouchers for the Gowings bar but unfortunately didn’t have time to go so we will be back soon for a drink! Definitely felt more like a more personalised boutique hotel experience compared with some of the big name chain hotels that have more of a standard corporate vibe. I booked the QT king room with breakfast included and we ended up staying in a room on the 10th floor which felt spacious and luxurious and had a view of the QVB. Felt very sound proofed, couldn’t hear any outside noise at all. Pillows were a little soft but the giant king bed more than made up for that. Really liked the option of having breakfast downstairs or room service. We took advantage of having the breakfast delivered (I ordered via the QT app) and the food and coffee were both surprisingly good. We have decided that QT Sydney will be our staycation hotel for special occasions. Looking forward to our next stay! From$181

I had booked two 3 BR suites. We have all stayed there before and enjoyed the location, size of the suites etc. However this time we had some serious concerns and none of the 10 people in my party are likely to stay there again. We arrived at 3 pm to check in – the advertised time. Our suites were not ready but we were told it would be 10 minutes until one of them was. It was almost an hour and a half! Then the second one was ready about another 20-30 minutes after that. This was completely unacceptable. We were given a key to the arrivals lounge and assured there would be tea, coffee etc available. It was a small room, with multiple groups squeezed in, and with no access to running water, so the coffee machine etc were not much use. The two units were OK, but very tired looking – especially the couches. For the price we paid, we expected better. There had been some mix up with my credit card when we checked in, and it turned out that I was charged twice for one room, and reception rang TWICE at around 10 pm to talk to me about it. Business and family travel.
We live in Western Sydney and decided on a night out in the city with some family. My partner works in the city, so convenient hotel location to the office and all other major shops and restaurants. Basically everything at your doorstep. Our room was ready by 12pm so my daughter and I were able to check in which was handy so I could drop off our bags. First time ever for us to have a complimentary mini bar stocked with drinks we like so we took full advantage of that! That's was a lovely surprise, thank you Grace Hotel! We booked a room with 2 double beds so we could push them together so we had a big bed to share with the little one sleeping in between us. Just easier than using a cot. I'd say she's more comfortable.
If we stayed longer we would've made use of the robes, the slippers and the dining.
Not our first time staying at the Grace and definitely won't be our last. Thank you again for the hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel!! 👌 ⭐️👌⭐️👌From$145

The location of Mercure is very close to the Central Station, which is very suitable for families like us with elderly and children. The staff at reception is very nice and helpful. She suggested us to sign up as a member so we could park at a discounted rate of $45 a day (the original seems to be $49). We were charged $1 which seems to be a deposit when we registered Check-in there. There are swimming pool and fitness facilities on the 14th floor. During our stay, we called the reception for the services. The staff came to our room quickly to provide services. In addition, maybe we stayed during the Christmas period, there was a draw. Were were lucky to win the prize. My child was very happy to win a toy remote car, which added more joy. We had a good experience with our stay. The hotel staff we met there are very nice and helpfiul. If we go to Sydney again, we will consider Mercure again! 🙂🙂From$110

We told us how to go to restaurants and supermarkets nearby, but they got off work at 7 pm and used it after going out. The key opens the door. The door locks, switches and window styles in the room are very retro, the public bathroom is very clean and has no odor, and it can also be bathed inside. Although there are many other guests in the building, the room is soundproof. Foreign hotels generally do not charge a deposit. Since we had to catch the plane on the second day, we got up at 4 in the morning and put the key in the staff window when we left the store.

We wanted to try somewhere up north Sydney area considering we were into ramen this winter and there were numerous good ones in this area. Studio was clean, value for money and you can probably be able to park outside on street parking over the weekend but must remember to move your car by 8am. This didn't phase us as we were able to save some money without needing to pay extra for car park.

Room cramped, 50cm TV, live to air only, bar fridge broken and in free standing wardrobe with ironing board and iron. No power point on table for jug. Could not fill jug under bathroom tap, had to use a cup to get under tap to fill jug. Sat jug on bedside table to boil it. One only bed side light. Old air con/heater rattles and hums . Had to use air con the room was so stuffy the old window was so heavy could not open it. Shower was terrible had to run around to catch the drops and the water was hot then cold then hot, absolutely shocking. No screen on window in tiny cramped bathroom/toilet. Traffic noise was terrible . Parking tight and cramped and only limited spaces. Complimentary continental breakfast consisted of cornflakes, rice bubbles, one choice of milk no light or skim. White sandwich bread, the cheap stuff, no other choice, instant coffee and tea. That’s it nothing else. No hot food available . Told kitchen being renovated ?? But they advertise bacon and eggs on a poster at the front door and people had dinner there the night before ??? No problem we Had a beautiful breakfast at the Hotel Urban Sure cafe next door. No lift, had to go up five flights of stairs. No mention of this when I booked. so all in all very disappointed . The positive was we only booked one night ! Yay!!!!

Dozens of knives an hour in Australia, considerate. Great location, quiet and comfortable. Public toilets and bathrooms are clean and tidy. There are dryers, washing machines, 2 knives into coins at a time. The large refrigerator refrigerates its own things, and the kitchen supplies are all in it. You can make and buy food yourself. Toothpaste slippers come with a small towel. Live next time. Within 90 nights, great value. The front desk staff can speak Cantonese or Mandarin. There is no elevator and the big luggage moves by itself. There are several toilets, bathrooms, shared, all in one Lou. Careful choice of going to the bathroom at night.

The first night we stayed before our cruise and the room was very comfortable for our family of four. Nick and Angela were very welcoming and made us feel like family. We were also able to store our luggage for the day until we were ready to depart. The second night we hadn’t booked and needed a room for the four of us in an emergency situation. We called the 24 hour number at 2am and Nick graciously met us at 2:30am and found a room for us. He was so welcoming and it wasn’t a trouble for him at all and said we could sleep in and have the room for as long as we needed. We were so grateful and he was again there for us in the morning for breakfast. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and Nick, Angela and the staff are very welcoming and provided us with exceptional service. Thank you

The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a great large screen TV, good size mini bar but not stocked with any beverages, plenty of wardrobe space, a good sized bathroom and a reasonably priced continental breakfast option. The lift has been replaced with a modernised and fast one and it speaks to you. Public transport is nearby as are some cafes and restaurants. This is the second time that we have stated here and we will definitely return. Highly recommended and rated about 8 out of 10.

The location is spot on, lots of cafes, restaurants and malls around. The rooms are clean, fresh and equipped well. The staff at the reception are very friendly and prompt. Sam, I guess who is the supervisor always helps me and my colleagues with the bookings and any other requests very well. It's hard to see such service now a days in hospitality industry and I can assure that I will be very loyal to Quest Chatswood for their wonderful service. I just wish that the gym was better equipped. A rowing machine and few more heavy weights will be great

The kitchen appliances are clean and in good working condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located opposite the Westfield shopping centre and just 2 minutes walk to the main shopping street on Victoria Ave. The only thing is that it would be great if a clothes drying rack is provided as I don't use the clothes dryer machine. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

Amazing heritage hotel... every room has a little balcony, the hotel is decorated with beautiful lead lights and the owner Robert was amazing in telling us about the history of this Victorian style hotel. Super centrally located near the station, cafes etc, but easy to find on street (timed, free) parking. And the hotel is hidden away from the Pacific Highway traffic in a little heritage piece of bushland with gorgeous birds waking you up!
