I have been using regulrly this hotel in the last couple of years for family breaks in Taranto. Former reviewers have commented that a renovation is now overdue and I confirm that they have a point. However, the hotel maintains the charme of its good old times thanks to the friendliness of the staff - and of course the spectacular position facing the Mar Grande. The restaurant deserves a special mention: young chef Giovanni knows perfecly well how to prepare delicious fish and seafood, and Ciccio and Maria really take good care of you while you dine. Il mio commento si riferisce alla suite 1, la junior (insomma la stanza base, non deluxe, senza soppalco) e devo dire che di suite non ha proprio nulla. La camera è piccolina, paradossalmente sembra più grande il bagno. È così piccola che nella stanzetta dove c’è il letto (addossato ad una porta finestra pertanto non apribile) non entra il secondo comodino… c’è solo quello a sinistra del letto. Ci sono molte cose da migliorare: le macchie di muffa nel bagno, la finestra del bagno che se apri ti resta la maniglia in mano, il silicone annerito della doccia, la luce sull’unico comodino fulminata, la colazione in camera assai scarna (esiste anche gente intollerante al lattosio eh)… ma soprattutto non è normale che la finestra nella camera da letto sia coperta solo da una tenda sottile bianca senza una tapparella o delle persiane e che alle 5 del mattino la stanza sia completamente illuminata e non si possa più dormire per la luce. Mi dispiace ma per tutto questo ho pagato davvero troppo.

The historic center of Taranto and shopping streets are reached in about 15 minutes. Parking is possible on the side of the underground square and in a neighbouring area.

A good place: it is certainly worth a visit. The hotel is located almost on the beach (in fact not very beautiful and not equipped): but between the hotel and the beach there is a swimming pool, very beautiful and clean and that certainly does not regret the lack of the equipped beach, The hotel also has an animation service, There are also tables on the pool to dine, stripped from the noise of the sea for a romantic dinner. The kitchen is scary but well cooked. This is a well-managed, well-organised structure: staff is discrete and professional. In all aspects, the cleaning, pleasant to view, the rooms are comfortable and most of them with pleasant views of the sea and the pool (which insists between the hotel and the beach). I mean, a happy oasis but the surroundings are to forget and it is a sin, we are attached to Taranto and a minimum of urban decoration one would like it. In conclusion, 5 stars in the structure and 1 star in the area where the hotel is emerging: there is nothing and you can't really do anything.

Sono andati veramente oltre per cercare di farci stare bene. 3 stelle alla struttura: l’entrata splendida, una bellissima piscina, le luci curate. Una masseria come te l’aspetti e come potrebbe suggerire la parola resort. Poi passeggi 10 metri oltre l’entrata e trovi più che altro sporcizia e poca cura. 1 stella alle camere: non è stile, non è country, non è shabby, è non cura 0 stelle al ristorante: abbiamo prenotato qui anche per poter assaggiare i piatti così pubblicizzati. I menu con tradizione e modernità, prodotti freschi e del territorio. Nulla, il ristorante fa solo servizio mezza pensione 2 primi e 2 secondi. Quindi no grazie

Don’t get me wrong the rooms are nice but the place has bars in front of its windows. We also were asked not to open the windows due to the airconditioning. In our room the mini fridge was happily buzzing but didn’t cool anything. The shower was amazing and the bed was good. Also If you can’t find the TV check the mirror 😜 On top of the hotel is the pool with bar and a restaurant. We were there 2 days and both days there was a party of none guests with a dj. We were “allowed” to sit there as paying guests how nice of them right. Last day we left early so we got breakfast at 7:35 as it only starts at 7 am and they managed to have cold sunny side up eggs, cold bacon and cold sausages which is surprising as it was the only thing that needed to be warm in the otherwise splendid selection of foods ( yes the pancakes are cold too) with loads of fruit great honey and cakes. All this stuff isn’t more of a missed opportunity then anything else for an otherwise great hotel. Just don’t get run over trying to leave with your car at the front gate :-)

Anna, the exceptionally kind receptionist, was very helpful and gave me lots of information. Very clean place even in the toilets. Excellent value for money, very good and very interesting given the tourist location of Taranto. I highly recommend it

Dispiace dover lasciare una recensione negativa perché il personale dell’albergo è molto gentile e disponibile e fa veramente di tutto per sopperire alle carenze della struttura. Purtroppo però queste carenze sono indiscutibili e molto significative e sono emerse chiaramente durante una permanenza di otto notti in una camera Master dal 5 al 13 agosto. Per cominciare è incomprensibile come questo albergo possa essere catalogato come un quattro stelle. La struttura è vecchia - sembra di fare un tuffo negli anni 70/80 al suo interno - e in disperato bisogno di rinnovamento. La nostra residenza Master era molto spaziosa e con molti armadi e altri mobili per riporre la nostra roba ma tutti molto datati e di modesta fattura. La camera non aveva alcuna dotazione ormai comune in alberghi di questa categoria in Italia e all’estero. Solo un asciugacapelli e una vecchia cassaforte con chiave meccanica, pesante e ingombrante. Niente accappatoi o pantofole. Asciugamani di scarsa qualità. Addirittura neanche i fazzoletti di carta ubiqui in tutti gli alberghi del mondo. Appena arrivati abbiamo chiesto se fosse possibile avere asse e ferro da stiro ma la risposta è stata negativa perché “dei clienti precedenti avevano rotto il ferro e per motivi di sicurezza l’albergo non lo forniva più”. Sempre poco dopo essere arrivati abbiamo scoperto che i frutti di tutte le nostre prese elettriche erano rovinati e andavano sostituiti. Il lavoro è stato fatto rapidamente e bene ma questo vuol dire che erano vecchi e nessuno li aveva controllati prima del nostro arrivo. L’ascensore è unico, molto piccolo, e usato sia dai clienti che dal personale di servizio e da una squadra di operai che sta facendo dei lavori in alcune zone dell’albergo. Il risultato sono lunghe attese e, spesso, la decisione di prendere le scale, anche con i bagagli, invece di aspettare l’ascensore. Le stanze non hanno alcuna dotazione “digitale” moderna. In aggiunta alla cassaforte con chiave meccanica e senza codice, i condizionatori sono antiquati e analogici, lo stesso vale per le chiavi di accesso alla stanza. Non esiste un pulsante per il “do not disturb”. La colazione, inclusa nel prezzo della stanza, è veramente modesta, di quelle con le vaschette di plastica con la Nutella e la marmellata per intenderci. I cornetti, la frutta fresca e qualche torta non erano male ma non c’era nessuna opzione sana (latti non vaccini, granola, muesli, ecc.) come ormai comune in moltissimi alberghi. E, per finire, la carenza più grave, almeno per noi che eravamo a Taranto anche per lavorare in smart working, è una Wi-Fi che funziona bene praticamente solo nella lobby dell’albergo e malissimo nelle stanze. Alla fine abbiamo deciso di restare al Daniela per l’intera durata della nostra prenotazione invece di cambiare albergo, senza pagare penalità come avevamo concordato con la gentilissima direttrice dell’albergo, perché non ci andava di rifare i bagagli e traslocare e ci siamo arrangiati usando i nostri telefoni p

Unfortunately, I am forced to give a medium-sized judgement for the services that the structure offers : I stayed x 3 nights , true it is that the room delivers it at 16:00 but if you arrive before you can't enjoy the pool, The room is also to leave it by 11:00 but you can't continue to enjoy the same pool. ... Now tell me, I who stayed from 12 to 15 August how do I leave the pool at 11:00 a.m., the day of the feragost? It is a 4-star hotel, located in the desolate historic center of Taranto. Desolate because it is all abandoned, an open house every 10 !! The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is very kind, everyone !! I'm almost Tarantino, I've been here at least twice a year from 1998 to today, I realize that standards have fallen from the 1990s, but here it is overdrived. The rooms are aestheticly bad, old and uncomfortable. You don't feel a little cocktailed by entering one of them, among other things they define ”superor” rooms with a refrigerator (watch) and a ”unique” matrimonial mattress. The breakfast is sad and hospitalized, especially because it is made of discount stones and a NUMERO coffee. It's a box, the minimum flexibility of everything, the keys must always be left at reception, don't raise your voice, if someone comes to you, they must leave the document and cannot stay too much in the room (this already before Covid). It is sorry for the staff, who do his duty and sometimes is also kind, but they also seem to be undergoing a bad management and move like robots, fearing to be wrong and to bear account of any small decision. The guilt of who is but not who manages it, among other things, when I found a more prominent employee than others, the same disappeared in a few months, but they pay them at least?
