The only strength of this hotel is the sea view that opens the door of the room and finds it, so I lie down and listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. there are many weaknesses,mainly the brightness in the room is very small,and there are many mosquitoes,and most importantly,there is only one place for the power socket.

Our stay was such a blast that we decided to come back in the end of our trip. Everything is just perfect, starting from the gorgeous staff to the modern, luxurious rooms and the delicious food. The manager of this amazing place really has a deep understanding of hospitality and comfort. This was the most memorable place we stayed in during our trip, absolutely worth to stay in!

Liked the hotel! Great location - rooms are close to the beach. The beach is beautiful. Nearby there are many restaurants, shops, there is a currency exchange with a normal rate. The rooms are clean and the soundproofing is good. The breakfasts are also very good.

we have now been to the third sunset resort. a small pretty hotel with a great location, great staff and very attentive employees. The terrace rooms are very good in a great location and have a priceless view of the sea. The massage on the beach is fantastically beautiful. the breakfast is ala card at the moment because there are few guests. But that's completely ok because you don't have to rely on buffet times and everyone only orders what they eat. we will return there again as it has become a home for us in Khaolak. everyone was so grateful that we were there as guests. it was a wonderful time here. 2 weeks unforgettable! Greetings from room 1203 Ivonne and Ralf Wir waren jetzt im dritten Mal im Sunset Resort. ein kleines hübsches Hotel mit toller Lage, tollem Personal und sehr aufmerksamen Mitarbeitern. Die Terrassenzimmer sind sehr gut in toller Lage und haben einen unbezahlbaren Meerblick. Die Massage am Strand ist traumhaft schön. Das Frühstück ist im Moment ala Karte, weil nur wenige Gäste da sind. Das ist aber völlig ok, da man sich nicht auf Buffetzeiten verlassen muss und jeder nur das bestellt, was er isst. Wir werden wieder dorthin zurückkehren, da es in Khaolak zu einem Zuhause für uns geworden ist. Alle waren so dankbar, dass wir als Gäste da waren. The hotel is in a good spot next to the beach. The hotel is very beautiful and very large. There is a golf cart to drive you to the parking lot. The room you got was on the 1st floor of the building, a short walk from the beach. Breakfast has a variety of choices, good taste, quiet, but the door doesn't keep sound well, can hear people from outside the room. During the time I went, many parts were undergoing renovations. The golf driver was very helpful. When I opened the first room on the 4th floor, I found that the room was not yet ready, so I called to coordinate. After waiting a bit, I got a new room, very spacious. There is a balcony where you can sit and sip tea by the pond, but don't dare go out. There are a lot of insects. The bed was bad with a sinkhole in the middle. Not a good spring bed The bed wasn't completely covered with sheets. It looked like it was probably the same bed used in the student dormitory. The pillows are soft but not a bit thick, not squishy like other hotels of the same level. In the morning, before we had time to check out, the staff came to clean the room and said as if to hurry and check out. Mom and Dad said they would even walk into the room. Even though I was collecting things. I feel that since staying in many hotels of this level, This is the first and worst place I have ever stayed. Hopefully from now on the hotel will improve things.

The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and provides 5-star quality service. The hotel location on the beach is perfect: stunning sunsets and wonderful relaxing days. Our room - on the ground floor and close to the swimming pools - was super clean, spacious and very comfortable – excellent WiFi. The restaurants offer tasty food. Overall, it would have been hard to ask for more or expect anything better! Thanks for such an enjoyable stay!! We will be back.

Our stay at Merlin Khao Lak was pretty great. We had a week there, and sincerely enjoyed the feeling of staying in a contained and nicely taken care of rain forest by the beach. The location was nearly perfect, but the beach itself wasn't very swimmable (beginning of rain season, to be fair). Fortunately, there were other beaches on the same coast that were nicer during the same time of year, so we did get time in the sea water. Even without sea swimming, the ambience from the waves and the sunsets made the beach plenty nice for us at Merlin. There is also a variety of nicepy kept pools to enjoy, though I typically don't enjoy pools personally. Service/food were both nice as well. The staff was pleasant enough, but it did feel weird that an ecologically minded resort had the least meat/dairy alternatives of any of the several resorts/hotels we stayed at. I found ordering curries with no seafood or meat simple though, and they were mostly still good. The massaman curry was a miss, but everything else I tried was quite good for resort food! We really loved the touch of the room's default tv channel being an info channel about the resort's wildlife and maintenance. That, plus the several info booklets allowed us to have a more guided and knowledgeable experience while sightseeing on the exceptional grounds. It was really fun running into others who were also just having a look around and waiting to see a different animal pop up. We enjoyed our stay. Next time we'd likely come back, while also spending some time up the coast a bit.

It is only 15 minutes away from Similan Pier. If you have a trip to Similan, you can consider this room type. To be honest, hundreds of rooms are exactly the same as those of more than 1,000! ! The scenery outside the room is a bit different, but the difference is not big. . I have tried various room types in the past few days, and they are really the same. The public swimming pool and the beach are very beautiful. The breakfast is okay. The food in the hotel restaurant is too slow... Generally speaking, the price is very good. I will come again~

The hotel is in a good location, located at the entrance of Khaola town. There is a restaurant and a small supermarket in the hotel. The room is my favorite large, wooden structure with Thai characteristics. Breakfast was just average, not many varieties, but you can find surprises. Papaya and mango are too sweet. Rice noodles are delicious. Soy beans and rice are everyone's favorite. The hotel's plants are very good, and the garden layout is exquisite. Wild water lizard squirrels are found everywhere. There are two swimming pools next to each other, the deepest in the front is 1.2 meters and the deepest in the back is 1.6 meters, the advantage is that the field of vision is wide and it can be illuminated. The hotel has a parking lot, and some room types can be booked directly for 3 people, which is cheaper than booking 2 + 1. I went around the hotel and still love Laguna.

The restaurant staff are nice but the management is poor. We celebrated our New Year in the Hotel with boring experience because of poor preparations from the management. Poor coordination between the guests and front desk staff. The resort is not well maintained. We won’t go back here again in the future not unless they will change.

Stayed here just before the pandemic and was keen to come back. We stayed in the orchid wing of the hotel and again the room was spotless and very well maintained like everything else here. A compact hotel on even ground so makes it very easy if you have mobility problems.the on site beach front restaurant is very good and no more expensive than eating out at the limited number of restaurants in the area. On site is also an outside sala for massages which again were comparable with those outside the resort price wise and executed very well. There is also in reception a tour desk with a lovely and knowledgeable lady who can sort trips out for you. All the staff here from the gardeners to management are very polite with a happy disposition. If you want a bit of peace and quiet on a lovely stretch of beach and the town and markets within a 10 minute ride away this hotel should be in your thoughts.

We had booked this resort to go diving in a center not far away. Subsequently we asked to stay longer (at the last minute) because we felt really good there, the boss literally took great care of us. The atmosphere is calm but quite nice, so the room can create a zen, friendly and close atmosphere with the other guests. Also well positioned on both sides of the areas sought for tourism. Fabulous little resort. We have been travelling Thailand for 5 months and this resort is in my top 2 as everything was perfect. Stayed in a pool villa. The pool is really for sitting however very good for cooling off with a drink. The room was spotless and big. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and clean. Bathroom had everything and was spacious with huge shower. The main pool is very clean and modern looking. Staff super friendly. You will need a car or taxi or scooter. We had a car so no problem. The resort is at the north end of the area. Was a little tricky to find but turn left at the road sign and drive down the track you come into the back of the resort. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was served to you. Great coffee! Standard Thai Brekky eggs toast fruit etc enough to start your day.

We stayed here for 7days. We loved the place very much. We stayed by the pool area and our room was big and perfect for us. We did walk to the beach I loved the beach Bang Niang Beach. 200bath for two sunbeds. Loved this beach. Our host helpt us book snorkling trip and scooters. Booked taxi to our next stay. You can buy breakfast. Its good. Close to the little town.

Words cannot describe how disappointed and disgusted I am with Wandee Bed and Breakfast. In my entire life I have never had such a horrific experience at an accommodation. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly owner. We were informed the air con in our room didn’t work which we were really upset by seeming as we were in 37 degree heat. On arrival to our room we found animal faeces on our bed and pillow case. The wifi wasn’t very strong and the room was very basic which is expected for the price. My boyfriend managed to manually turn on the air con which we were really happy about as the room was so hot. The owner then came knocking on the door and started shouting and arguing with my boyfriend saying that we weren’t allowed to use the air con and that we had to pack our things within 5 minutes and leave the room to go to another room which only had a fan in as she didn’t trust us. It was unnecessarily aggressive and a complete change in the friendly owner we met initially. Me and my boyfriend were so shocked and upset at the way she spoke to us that we decided we wanted to check out and not stay the 3 nights as we didn’t feel comfortable or happy there. She told us we couldn’t get a refund and after more arguing about getting a refund we contacted booking.com to help. She then black mailed us saying she’d only give us a refund if we wrote on paper that we faked our complaint and story to booking.com so she could take a photo and send it to them to get herself out of trouble?! She insulted my boyfriend saying he talked too much and shouted loudly at us. She even threatened she’d call the police as that’s what she’s done to past people who’ve complained. She said she didn’t care if we left a bad review. Her attitude towards us as guests was disgusting and I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money here on someone who shouldn’t even have the licence to run a bed and breakfast business in the first place! We booked our stay here as a lot of the past reviews were very positive even about the owner. But it’s all an act! Her true colours really came out and if you’re a backpacker like myself and my boyfriend there are plenty of other cheap hotels with NICE owners, better wifi and rooms with both a fan and air con you can use to book! Oh and no faeces on your bed (that’s a plus!) You’re in Thailand to enjoy your stay, feel comfortable and happy…this place is the last place in Thailand that will make you feel this way. The owner is a malicious, rude and blackmailing woman who I wouldn’t even dare leave my dog with at her appalling excuse for accommodation.

My partner and I stayed at the Mouth Resort over New years and we loved it there. Small, family run place in a quiet area set in some lovely gardens. The owner was great, really helpful and we enjoyed our breakfast every morning. Rooms were clean and there's a small swimming pool which we made use of a few times to cool down in the afternoons. The nearby resort areas are within walking distance, or you can hire a moped. We hired a moped for a few days--fair price and no messing about with condition or anything like that. If we go back to khao lak we would definitely stay there again.

Were in this hotel in November 2022, it was better and breakfast and cleaning and water were replenished (although it is also on the floor from the Kuller type, but now a large group of Animators has appeared, though there is practically no sense from them, the children's room, which is still in a separate building does not work, but the animators themselves hang out there (cool), and the children's wretched without anyone (just empty and wretched) room. They don’t really do anything and receive a salary and also housing and food. Dear management, look at the evening programs as they ruled under there was no one left stupid at the end of the program.Yes, and during the day everything is dead, We were in DESSOLE 8-10 years ago, so there one Annimator was better than this collective farm.I mean that there were more people in 5-6 months, service and the food is worse, also Annimators throwing money away guide pay attention to the stupid Animators you have more expenses, but there’s no point in cleaning food. th day and was interested in whether everything was pleasant or what they wanted to change, now there is no one, but ANNIMATORS is a collective farm.

Came to Khao Lak to hone my mer-person metamorphosis skills with some fellow mer-folk 🧜🏽‍♂️ Srichada was the perfect fit for our needs. Unpretentious, clean, affordable, well located rooms. The beach is little more than 5 mins walk. Plenty of decent restaurants around (though many closed during current covid times). Comfy bed, new AC machines, towels, a perfectly sassy front of house host. Good stuff - would stay again, would recommend to a friend. It ain’t fancy, but the value for money is on point. The place was a little difficult to spot. Maybe they normally have a big sign but the current road expansion going on has moved it? Dunno.. anyway.. it’s where it says on maps so rely on that rather than looking for a sign.

The hotel is a kilometer from the sea. At 9 and 10 hours there is a free transfer. The Kao Laka beaches are beautiful ... Over the road 7 leven and the market (works 3 times a week). The prices on the market are slightly more expensive than in Phuket. The initial price for strips and souvenirs is more in 2-3 than the final. Cafes of all different lots, starting from 60 bates per dish in cheap. Staff at the hotel is just wonderful, especially the girl on the recipes. In the room safe (on the key), refrigerator, TV (without Russian channels), air conditioner, extract with a fan. Wonderful balcony (we had 3 floors). Very delicious breakfast (in a nearby hotel) with views of a small river and mountain. There is a thick raisins)))) In the toilet half the concrete floor, so the esthetes are not here)))) But there is a stream heater. They give up 0.5 water every day and beach towels. Almost every day in the bar (comfortable) live music. There are some two bars separated by the entrance. In one table and shelves with books ... There you can eat if you want. In general, the feeling as if you finally returned home ... In step-by-step availability a couple of Buddhist temples (there is still, but a little further), the museum of tsunami. The near frame is still being built, in the second impressive Buddha statue. The road traffic is small, so the bike can be taken boldly. 6 km from the hotel, on the road behind the second 7 leven, there is a river with waterfalls (input 200 baths from a person). Prices are slightly lower than the tour operators. There are no noisy disco bars in this part of Kao Laka. It is a quiet beach holiday. It is also good for beach runners.

I stayed in a standard room . This spatious , very clean AC-room with kingsize bed has a private bathroom ( with all the ammennities you need ) . Tv with some English spoken channels , a fridge and good Wi-Fi . Outside my room , two chairs and a small table where i could relax after a refreshing jump into the clean swimming pool , which was 5 meters from my frontdoor . The very friendly and helpfull staff cleaned my room everyday . Tasty breakfast ( toast , little club- sandwiches , eggs , coffee , orange juice ,..... ). This resort is very well located near many restaurants and shops . About 15 minutes to walk to beautifull Nang Thong Beach . If you have any question of problem during your stay , just go see MUAY . She will do her very best to make sure you can enjoy your stay and have a relaxing holiday . Thanks Muay 😉

Die Terrassenzimmer sind sehr gut in toller Lage und haben einen unbezahlbaren Meerblick. Die Massage am Strand ist traumhaft schön. Das Frühstück ist im Moment ala Karte, weil nur wenige Gäste da sind. Das ist aber völlig ok, da man sich nicht auf Buffetzeiten verlassen muss und jeder nur das bestellt, was er isst. Wir werden wieder dorthin zurückkehren, da es in Khaolak zu einem Zuhause für uns geworden ist. Alle waren so dankbar, dass wir als Gäste da waren. Our stay at Robinson the was great. It was the end of our trip with two sets of parents, and the perfect place to wind down and relax on a beautiful beach. The staff was excellent and made us feel immediately welcomed. The biggest positives in our view: Staff, cleanliness, immaculate grounds, breakfast, gym/basketball/sports courts, and the great beach. What could be improved upon: the a la carte menu at the Bamboo bar was lacking in Thai options, as well as general quality. We ordered 7 dishes, and only the samosas and fish and chips were of decent quality compared to other food on our trip. This was in stark contrast to their breakfast and dinner buffets, which were both pretty good. Neutral: The location. While the resort has everything you'd need, they are fairly out of the way of everything. This offers a more private and quiet feel, but also means options are lacking, such as finding good Thai food or doing any light shopping or stocking up on drinking water at a sane price. - If you walk south on the beach (through a fun rocky area when tide isn't too high), you'll find some good restaurants, such as Thai Beach restaurant. Their food was among the best we'd had on our trip. The massaman curry was fantastic. Overall: Lovely stay, and would come back again for a few days!

Was so impressed with this hotel 5 years ago that we returned again in October 2023 and they gave us the same room we occupied before. This was a water pool access room which is a must if you stay here. The rooms are large with a massive bed and has all the facilities you could wish for. Although we did no eat our main meals in the Italian restaurant we had breakfast which covers all variety of foods and freshly cooked eggs and bacon on request. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. A particular mention to Tounchai the barman who served us daily at the pool bar during Happy hour with delicious cocktails. Also to the maid (sorry can't remember her name) who cleaned our room 1123 and left wonderful creations on our bed. The hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to many bars and restaurants. Bang Niang Market which is 2 mins walk is open every Mon, Weds, Thur and Sat which does street food and has many stalls. The Waters is highly recommended.

This is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds on the beach front with easy access to bars and restaurants. Breakfast is varied with a mixture of Thai and western dishes and is served in full view of the sea and beach which is very peaceful and relaxing. There is an egg station but it can get very busy at times when the restaurant is full but there was never any problems in getting a table. The juices although refreshing appear to be more like cordial than fresh fruit juice and coffee is brought round by the staff who will refill your cup when necessary. There are several pools on the grounds and lots of sun beds to choose from. I did note however that people were claiming sun beds early in the morning which is unusual for Thailand. The centre pool is massive and ideal for swimming. The rooms are a little dated in dark wood Thai style but are comfortable, quiet and the air conditioning is good. The staff are all very helpful and appear happy in their work. There is a safe in the room and a balcony with two comfortable chairs. There is daily maid service but it appeared to be quite late in the day sometimes when we had retired to the room for a rest.

We have just moved after been at motive for 1 night the worst night we have ever had at a hotel ever as follows . Last night and this morning - because the walls of this hotel are so thin, my children were subjected to hours of rampant sex cries , moans & skin slapping noises, with the bed banging and squeaking for hours up until 1.30am last night and then again this morning it woke us up at 9am as they were at it again My 9 year old daughter was so uncomfortable with this she was in tears and very confused - the walls are so thin you could hear intimate details , skin slapping and heavy breathing with sex talk , it was embarrassing and scary for both my children we could hear everything through the paper thin walls. It was extremely awkward, very uncomfortable and an unpleasant experience . Just as that stopped last night at 1.30, a noisy family came back to the room on the other side, loud talking, baby crying and they put the TV on at volume- again, because the walls are so thin, there was no escape from it. Finally we managed to fall asleep only to be woken again at 4am by the baby screaming. We tried to talk to 2 different people about it at reception but they just shrugged there’s shoulders didn’t offer to move our room or a refund no help whatsoever . We have tried to raise it with agoda repeatedly but they are not interested and just offered me a £40 credit on our next booking and have still charged us £455 as we left the hotel early and said it’s the hotels policy not there’s even though we paid agoda in full before hand . To top it off the extra bed my son had been given ( which cost £13 a day ) was literally so hard it was like a block of concrete and the blanket had several holes in it. This was a terrible night of sleep as we were trapped in the room between the loud sex and the screaming baby. I understand these things go on in private, but the walls are so thin, you cannot get away from what is going on next door and children (nor adults!) should not have to be subjected to someone else’s intimate sex noises . It meant the holiday had started with a unpleasant experience that made it feel more like torture than a holiday and there is no way I would let my children stay in that environment again ( surely any decent parent would agree with me ? ) . None of us wanted to return to that hotel as things that should be private cannot be private in that hotel because the walls are obviously so thin . On top of this the hotel is in a very poor state and needs to be refurbished throughout . The rooms are dark & dingy and the mattresses are like solid planks . The shower is very poor and makes the whole bathroom wet and the floor like a ice rink . The pool has so much chemicals in it after swimming for half an hour my throat went totally dry and I had trouble swallowing and my sons as well ( we have never had this before at any pool ) - throat was fine as soon as we left the pool . We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!

This is our 3rd time stay at La Flora, This time we stayed here for 3 nights from 17-20 May 2023, Everything excellence as always, the room was spacious and comfortable with high quality cleaning. The breakfast here was so good with many choices and also testy, the staff very attentive and provided excellent service especially ladies who clear up our table. Special thank to front team and appreciated with very kind for upgrading our room, and surprise birthday cake with beautiful bed decoration which made our stay very very special. I was scheduled to arrive around 3 o'clock in the middle of the night, so I put an email in advance. There seems to be no one at the front desk in the middle of the night, and please enter it without permission because you inform the room number before arrival. An email like this came. Even if the key is left in the room. When I arrived at Phuket Airport, I was relieved because there was an email to inform the room number. Arrived after 3 o'clock in the middle of the night by taxi. When I entered the room I was informed, there was a key properly. Greeting with the staff after I got up in the morning ＾＾ There was no check-in work. I had breakfast, so I had it at a separate restaurant. It was a simple breakfast, but I was able to choose from about 5 types. It was a clean hotel and the staff was able to spend it with a smile. It was good to send the email in easy to understand English.

Отель поразил тишиной, звуками природы и каким-то ”неземным” ощущением релакса. Кровати отличные, хороший большой ТВ, русскоязычных каналов нет, сантехника немного подуставшая но это не портило впечатления от номера. У нас была очень красивая , вся в цветах терраса (первый этаж). Интернет в номере работал исправно, все возникшие проблемы персонал решал моментально. Команда отеля держит уровень сервиса очень высоко . Многим средиземноморским пятеркам до него далеко)). Узнав о том что мы не едим мясо, повар нам готовил завтраки персонально, огромное за это спасибо! На завтрак выбор блюд был небольшой но менялся каждый день и все было очень вкусно!. Трансфер на пляж был очень точный, утром в 10.00 отвозили на Коконут бич и забирали в 14.00 и 16.00... Отдельное удовольствие получили от бассейна, он всегда был чистый и мы могли плавать в нем перед сном. В отеле очень приличный ресторан, цены такие же как и за территорией... Вокруг вообще мало ресторанов , понравилось очень в Zest и Seafood. Но в последнем очень жадные порции. В падтай с креветками их положили 3 штуки))... Так что можно спокойно питаться в отельном ресторане. По поводу фруктов договорились в ресторане Зест с девочками и нам все привезли правда дороже немного но это нормально. Вообще надо брать байк и будет вам счастье)). Без него и обмен денег затруднителен. Мы меняли на ночном рынке труда-обратно 400 бат... Море великолепное, теплое и чистое. Людей на пляже практически нет, всегда были свободные лежаки. Цена комплекта ”лежак столик зонтик” 50 бат за день... На пляже есть душ и туалет. На пляже много разных кафе и можно найти по вкусу). В общем и целом отель великолепен для релакса, любителям тусовки здесь делать нечего). Отель можно смело рекомендовать для отдыха от суеты). Нам отдых очень понравился и персонал делал всё возможное для это. Отдельное им спасибо за это!

The Marriott is already an older Hotel, which added two wings recently. Three of those buildings consist of suites. Thus the name. We had a two bedroom duplex suite. Amazing rooms with three huge flatscreen TVs, large bathroom and a small kitchen. However, there is one big negative: They do not offer the Marriott signature beds. They only have economical, very hard and uncomfortable mattresses. When I addressed this problem at the reception, three different people didn’t have no idea what I was talking about. Considering that I am a Marriott Bonvoy member, and have a lot of experience with the various hotels, I would expect that the respective brand offers the signature bed. Considering that Marriott has some 20 hotels in the area, you better check first, if they offer the respective beds (e.g. sweet sleeper bed, heavenly bed). The resort is huge. They connected all the pools, to a total of 3 km for swimming. The beach is nice, although due to the continuous breeze and slight chop, the sand is stirred up and the water is a bit murky. There are a couple of cheap Thai restaurants and Massage places on the beach. The thai restaurant in the hotel is quite good and not too expensive. Italian restaurant is really excellent. The breakfast is also very good. They offer of course various Asian choices. Try it!

We spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

Brand new. Many IKEA quality stuff. Daikin A/C - people sitting on the upper bed might not like its vicinity. Close to the beach and restaurants. Excellent staff, true Thai hospitality. First hostel with no guarantee for the key. First hostel in 35 days in Thai to give e a proper wai. EXcellent English. Nice kitchen, biscuits coffee and tea and water through the day. Access to shower after check out. Etc As a suggestion to make it even better: It is more about personal preferences - lack of curtains to the beds mainly. Some people complained about the music from a neighboring bar. To me it was not too loud.
