"We spent three nights at the Marine de Loire in August as part of a cycling holiday week. The hotel staff couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and friendly. They allowed us to check in early and recommended and booked restaurants for us (really useful as the town was busy and lots of places were booked up!). Our room was on two levels and was clean, airy, nicely decorated and cool with air conditioning (important this August!). The pool area and spa were both a lovely treat, and we made use of both! Breakfast was delicious and again the staff were really helpful, allowing us to have breakfast half an hour early on one day so we could get out on our bikes before it got too hot. Montsoreau was very pretty and we enjoyed it exploring, the only thing I would say is that the town seems to become quiet around 9pm and it would have been really nice if the hotel bar stayed open a bit later! But probably very good for our alcohol intake that it didn't! A really great hotel, thoroughly recommended and I hope we have a chance to come back. Thank you!"
"We stayed here for a couple of nights while on a biking trip. It was the end of their season, so the town was a little sleepy. We were able to lock our bikes in the storage area which was handy. The room was spacious. Bathroom was spacious (the toilet was in a separate water closet so you had to go across the apartment to wash your hands though). They had decorated both the rooms and the public areas very tastefully and comfortably. The breakfast buffet offered an array of quality bake goods, fruit, juices and cereals. In the afternoon, drinks were available for purchase. The location was easy to find and across the street from the Loire. It was easy to get to restaurants from the hotel. There is also a spa, both indoor and outdoor pools, and a nice garden with area to sit out. I would recommend it to those visiting the area."
"We were greeted with a warm welcome from owner Carolyn at this delightfully situated and beautifully decorated hotel. Our river view room.2, was large and well furnished. We were able to stay an extra night in room 1 overlooking the attractive garden at the rear which was smaller but quieter. I was unable to take full advantage of the local walks and attractions because of a bad back, but was able to enjoy the superb spa- pool Jacuzzi sauna steam room. Spotlessly clean and staff very helpful with restaurants etc"

"Breakfast is a very authentic French meal, and the layout is very similar to Downton Manor. We live in a triple room, quite spacious and suitable for children. The hotel was built in the 19th century. The stairs and windows show the charm of the Middle Ages. It was originally booked for only one night. I liked it and added it for one night. The hotel can park for free."

"The hotel is situated right next to a beautiful church, with both the inside and out being very quaint. When inside you are greeted with a fantastic welcome and the well chosen interior decor. The hotel was lovely to stay in, it was clean and very comfortable! There was a large selection of pillows in the room with a good amount of space. The owners/staff were very friendly and attentive and made the stay very enjoyable! The breakfasts were incredible. There was a huge selection, including a baked apple, crepes, cheeses, bread, croissants, yoghurts, an apricot in juice, and a large selection of juices, preserves and jams. We would definitely go and stay there again!"
"We stayed for two nights on our way back from south France to Calais. The rooms are lovely and clean and very nicely decorated. But what really makes it great is the lovely owner and the efforts he go to. Breakfast was all local produce with plenty of options, including vegan and gluten free options. They have also put in place measures to keep guests safe by fully cleaning the hotel and airing out the rooms every day. The location is also ideal, right near the chateau and close to bars and restaurants."
"I stayed here for three nights in March. The room was fantastic and looked out directly onto the stained glass window of the church opposite. The location is ideal, on a pedestrian street in the heart of Saumur. The owners were very helpful and always made me feel at home."

"A very nice centrally located hotel overlooking the Loire and chateau. We had a superior double overlooking the Loire. Our room was sizeable but, unlike all the photos of sumptuous rooms advertised on the website, ours was just plain and functional with a blue vinyl flooring which was rather disappointing. For that reason I am marking it down as I do not like this false advertising. Nevertheless, the room was quiet, even though it overlooked the road (it is not a busy road). The room had aircon (also quiet), good coffee making facilities and a minibar but, no safe deposit box. The bathroom had Ocitane toiletries which added a luxurious touch. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly, and the facilities were good. We did not use the new pool which looked nice, but small. Neither did we have the breakfast.  Parking was not a problem as we were lucky enough to get a free spot across the road from the hotel (its free all along this stretch).  In the main, a good hotel. "
"This is a lovely hotel. As the receptionist described it when we checked out ‘an old new hotel’. The room was lovely - we had one overlooking the river. Comfortable beds. Lovely new bathroom with shower. Decoration minimalist but very tasteful and they have kept as many original features as possible - the stone floor was beautiful. Staff were all charming and helpful. Breakfast very good. Lovely courtyard with view of the chateau. The original staircase is great. Practicalities - parking at the back was very convenient and I thought reasonable at 10 euros a day. There is a lift if you have mobility issues and every COVID precaution has been taken. No restaurant (but there is no shortage nearby - would highly recommend Le Pot de Lapin). There is a bar however. Would stay there again. "
"A room with a view of the castle, quiet and almost in the Loire, what else could one ask for? Well sometimes stuff happens and in our case it was a flat battery. At this point the good hotel rather than the average comes into its own. Out from behind his desk came the manager, Sylvain Millon, with not one but two jump leads. Unfortunately after spending a good 40 minutes trying to get our car to start, we still had to undergo the indignity of the back of the tow truck to the local BMW dealership! With a tricky and humourless service manager at BMW, we ended up having to spend another night at the hotel. Instead of charging the earth as many hotels would have done to anyone in distress and unable to negotiate room rate, Sylvain charged the same for a larger room. We finally got away the following morning with very positive memories of Anne d'Anjou, Sylvain Millon and his equally helpful receptionist."

"Stayed for 2 nights and everything was largely fine. As expected, its design was very hotel chain like but the decor was reasonably up to date. Our room overlooked the Loire towards the chateau which was fab except for the notice warning you about the likelihood of river borne mosquitos! Did make it warm at night but the aircon sorted that out. Breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of items and the location was a ten minutes walk into town. The only downside, I thought, was the price at 140+€ per night which is more than other hotels we stayed in. That said, it was easy to attend the Fete des Vendage at the chateau on Sunday."
"A modern hotel - we stayed for three days. We had a splendid room with a balcony with stunning views across the Loire to the castle. All the staff were most kind and helpful. They do not have a restaurant but a 10 minute walk across the most lovely bridge puts you bang in the centre of Saumur with countless fun restaurants. Breakfast is 16 euros each which we think is too much so we went up the road 5 minutes to a boulangerie and had a splendid breakfast for 3.6 euros!! All in all a nice place to stay in a lovely location with very friendly staff."
"A great looking hotel as it looks out onto the river and chateau. Dog friendly and excellent dog walk straight from the hotel towards the I'lle d'offard camping site. Parking available. We parked for free directly outside the door and below our room which was actually free as it was public parking. Excellent location, a nice stroll in Saumur. Rooms and decor what you expect from Mercure, a posh Ibis as i like to see it. Perhaps not worth double the price of an Ibis but great location for us."

"High up on a mountain side, overlooking the Loire valley, lies Imago. Here, in very calm surroundings, you´ll find a magnificent hotel with modern, fresh rooms in a separate building and with breakfast and dining in the main buildning (which is smaller...). Air conditioning, nice bathroom, comfortable beds and - as could be understood from the location - a wonderful view over the valley, that´s what you get at Imago. If you stay here you´ll also be likely to eat at the in-house restaurant and that won´t be a bad choice! You´ll get well cooked meals, attentive and friendly service and - wheather permitting - a nice evening on the terrace. Jean-Claude and Martine are perfects hosts who both speak English well. The bill should be quite decent."
"We stayed here for 2 nights on our way south. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The meals were excellent. We ate dinner in the hotel on the first night and my sea bass and ratatouille and my son’s veal were truly delicious as were the desserts and breakfasts. The location is an easy 10 minute drive to Chinon which is our favourite town in the Loire. We had a problem with our car and as our French is pretty basic the hotel owner was invaluable arranging first for a local garage to take a look and then contacting a dealership in Tours. He and his wife are perfect hoteliers and we wish them every success."
"Set up on the side of a hill just off the main drag, this motel-style modern hotel is really very nice - the owner and his wife are super people and can't do enough for you - we dined on the terrace which offers spectacular views - although the menu is a little limited, the home cooked food is absolutely 1st class and the myriad of wines and Belgian beers on offer is impressive. Our room, slightly on the small side, was exceptionally clean and comfortable and had a nice balcony / terrace to sit out on and enjoy the views. Overall, this is a great little hotel run by really nice people - highly recommended !"

"Family owned and operated 17th century farm, renovated buildings for rooms, breakfasts and a dining room. Owners provide excellent service, comfortable rooms, helpful advice. Breakfasts available everyday in a large light filled ‘Orangerie’, check and book ahead for a lovely 4 course dinner available on most nights. Located 4 km from town, so book the dinner or you are welcome to bring your own and eat in their lovely L’orangerie building. Indoor bicycle storage. Located on the Loire bike path, a short bike ride to the L’abbaye , the Sunday market in Montsoreau, mushroom cave, wineries ... !"
"We stayed one night in one of the ENORMOUS insolite rooms on the top floor. It was beautifully clean & very spacious. Being from Australia & not used to the cold, we did wonder why we couldn’t find a heater in the room. However once we mentioned it to the staff they immediately arranged a radiator heater & brought it to the room. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience in a beautiful property. Highly recommended & would return. Merci beaucoup "
"Good location. Room very spacious but unfortunately for us it was 45 degrees so I don’t think any room without aircon would be cool. Dinner lovely once you get your head around how it works as not speaking any French found it confusing. Buffet style but nothing like hotel/restaurant buffet. Felt like you were eating with family & friends. You can eat inside the beautifully decorated rooms or outside on the terrace. We very much enjoyed our stay minus the unbearable heat but that’s something you cannot control. Make sure you visit the lovely soap shop on the premises."

"The staff is amazing; pleasant, accommodating & hsppy to assist. The rooms sre fabulous, with a very comfortable & clean room & salle de bain. We liked that the room was very eco-friendly. The car park is far from the entrance, but they will send a golf cart for at least one passenger & the luggage. The breakfast is amazing. Really. I even tried coddled eggs with a mushroom sauce. Divine. My only complaint is that if you are staying off of a main corridor, the lights don’t turn on, immediately, so you may have to feel your way a bit. It was a wonderful stay!"
"The hotel is beautiful and the staff super friendly. The rooms are very confortable and breakfast is delish. Dinner at the restaurant is an amazing experience with food cooked to perfection. The fact that we had access to the abbey at any time, day or night was, for me, a dream come true. It was sooooooooo amazing that 3 weeks after my stay, I went back with the rest of the family. I highly recommend it for families and solo travellers alike. Please do visit, you will not regret it."
"I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, the ability to walk the grounds at night after the crowds go home is a huge perk. My room had a lot of personality, which I appreciated. The only suggestion I have (and I don't know if it is possible because it is a historical building) would be to put a screen in the windows. I saw bats and I wanted to leave the windows open at night, but the paranoia was real. Top notch service, good wifi, and the shower was unreal."

"We chose this hotel for our group of 40 for one night while on a group tour around central France. We were visiting wineries and chateaux around the local areas of Saumur, Chinon and Loches. The grounds of this domaine are gorgeous, tranquil, and we absolutely wish we had stayed longer. Great rate, excellent breakfast, and good service. The rate was excellent and rooms were large, if somewhat basic. A great find."
"We were headed to Fontevraud L'Abbaye on the Plantagenets trail and discovered this amazing hotel - Domaine to Roiffe. The hotel is worth a vusit itself, and the rooms are quirky to say the least. However they were both toooed by the evening meal which was superb. I highly recommend a stay and we will return next year. "
"Spacious bedroom and good sized bathroom and the room was nice and warm on our arrival on a very chilly May evening. The whole place is beautiful and our room was very quiet with views over the field at the back - a friendly llama outside our window in the morning ! Very friendly and helpful staff."

"On arrival we were very impressed by the characterful, historic buildings and the hotel parkland gardens. Set near to the River Vienne and just a few kilometers away from the pretty historic riverside Loire valley town of Chinon. From the hotel chateaux and monasteries of the region are easily accessible. The staff of the hotel were charming and we were shown to our room and informed of the many historic architectural attractions of the region. The bulding which contained our bedroom was separate from the reception and restauant building and, unlike the pleasant reception area, was cold and the interior decorations were rather bland. The room was similar in feel although facilities were adequate. We didn't pay for a top class room which might have been a better choice. The resstaurant was pleasant enough to look at, but not very warm (it was early October), but the food was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was more than adequate as well. On leaving the following morning we were again greeted and checked out by a charming receptionist. We only stayed one night, and although the surroundings are lovely, and we would like to spend longer exploring the Western Loire region, we would would prtobably choose a more comfortable hotel."
"We had 2 large and comfortable rooms, one on the ground floor with a huge open fireplace (large enough to roast an ox!), one on the first floor above. There was a "dressing room", good shower room, separate wc. Very quiet surroundings. Excellent breakfast in the main building, and a very good dinner in the restaurant (closed on Sundays). Relaxing. We were reluctant to leave!"
"From google view I was not impressed but on arrival this place made up very quick. Lots of space for parking, very quiet, nice rooms, very good breakfast and excellent service at the reception. The rooms are all big size with king size beds and very big bathrooms. The Manoir might look antique from the outside but has the chic of ancient times. Free Wifi. Big TC screen. very nice place to stay."
