"A very nice centrally located hotel overlooking the Loire and chateau. We had a superior double overlooking the Loire. Our room was sizeable but, unlike all the photos of sumptuous rooms advertised on the website, ours was just plain and functional with a blue vinyl flooring which was rather disappointing. For that reason I am marking it down as I do not like this false advertising. Nevertheless, the room was quiet, even though it overlooked the road (it is not a busy road). The room had aircon (also quiet), good coffee making facilities and a minibar but, no safe deposit box. The bathroom had Ocitane toiletries which added a luxurious touch. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly, and the facilities were good. We did not use the new pool which looked nice, but small. Neither did we have the breakfast. Parking was not a problem as we were lucky enough to get a free spot across the road from the hotel (its free all along this stretch). In the main, a good hotel. "
"This is a lovely hotel. As the receptionist described it when we checked out ‘an old new hotel’. The room was lovely - we had one overlooking the river. Comfortable beds. Lovely new bathroom with shower. Decoration minimalist but very tasteful and they have kept as many original features as possible - the stone floor was beautiful. Staff were all charming and helpful. Breakfast very good. Lovely courtyard with view of the chateau. The original staircase is great. Practicalities - parking at the back was very convenient and I thought reasonable at 10 euros a day. There is a lift if you have mobility issues and every COVID precaution has been taken. No restaurant (but there is no shortage nearby - would highly recommend Le Pot de Lapin). There is a bar however. Would stay there again. "
"A room with a view of the castle, quiet and almost in the Loire, what else could one ask for? Well sometimes stuff happens and in our case it was a flat battery. At this point the good hotel rather than the average comes into its own. Out from behind his desk came the manager, Sylvain Millon, with not one but two jump leads. Unfortunately after spending a good 40 minutes trying to get our car to start, we still had to undergo the indignity of the back of the tow truck to the local BMW dealership! With a tricky and humourless service manager at BMW, we ended up having to spend another night at the hotel. Instead of charging the earth as many hotels would have done to anyone in distress and unable to negotiate room rate, Sylvain charged the same for a larger room. We finally got away the following morning with very positive memories of Anne d'Anjou, Sylvain Millon and his equally helpful receptionist."
