"Cannot recommend this hotel/experience highly enough. Even before we saw the beautiful property (or properties -- there are four unique buildings here), we were impressed by the individual attention: recommendations about where to eat, cool things happening in the neighborhood, etc. Our week-long stay was one of the best all-around experiences we've had in a U.S. city. The rooms are beautifully/thoughtfully designed, the historic spaces of this former school/church/convent wonderfully showcased, and the staff incredibly friendly/knowledgeable/helpful (they even offered to ship something we couldn't bring back on the plane). It helps, too, that the location is PERFECT. Marigny is a lovely/funky neighborhood with great restaurants, one of the best music scenes in town (Frenchman Street), and it's an easy/quick walk to the French Quarter. Free bikes from the hotel make for fun rides to the Garden District, City Park, Bywater, or Crescent Park. Even just hanging out at the hotel was great -- terrific bar/restaurant and homemade ice cream, to boot. We were ready to take up permanent residence. "
"We live locally and a friend encouraged us to support the business. We decided to stay for a night and I started to book on Travelocity. I decided I should just call directly and they quoted a $199 rate vs. $143 on Travelocity. They asked me to screenshot the Travelocity rate so I could prove to them that there was a lower rate offered. When we arrived we soon figured out the TV was not working. The woman at the front desk tried to fix it and then said she was going to call someone else off site to help. I got the feeling she was the only staff member around. We waited a while and had dinner to get ready for so I suggested to her to move us since we hadn’t really touched the room. She said something about cleaning staff and I got the feeling that she was trying to avoid moving us. Strange for a very quiet hotel? Surely they had lots of room. She reluctantly moved us- almost seeming annoyed. Our room: Basement with low ceilings, loud people upstairs walking around and talking, people using the bathroom located next to our room, elevator dings, and someone cleaning the hallways or something loud at 8 a.m. on a Sunday. Not thrilled with our staycation although the dinner in the church was good."
"Absolutely stunning hotel. They excel at comfort and service at Hotel Peter and Paul. One of the best parts of this experience for us was the knowledgeable staff--they were able to answer our questions about the best places to dine nearby and provided detailed directions and maps to anywhere we wanted to visit in the neighborhood and surroundings. In the room was a lovely guide to the area written by the owner. It even included a section on neighborhood botanicas."
