"For my 40th birthday I've decided to book 2 nights at the Vila Vita Parc, knowing it as one of the best resorts in the whole of Portugal. I'm so glad of my choice as my stay could not have been made more special by the genuine, kind, and dedicated staff of these stunning premises. I was so truly impressed with the high standards of their professionalism and their incredible friendly approach that I've felt in a paradise nest during all my stay. A very special thanks to Mr Venturinha, who has taken care of the details of my birthday experience, but also to Victor at the reception, Fernanda and Ermelinda, Daniel and Sara from our delicious breakfast at Bela Vita, Pedro who drove us to Praia Dourada and all the the other staff ( please forgive me if I have forgotten somebody) that has been enchanting us with their kindness and made the whole experience so memorable! Thank you so much!"
"This was our seventh stay in 20 + years at the resort . As for our previous visit in March 2020 this resort is best enjoyable when not overcrowded. Staff location and amenities are first class and guarantee a true holiday feeling . Only one area of improvement : lack of maintenance of the pitch and putt . We dined at Mizu Teppanyaki & Adega which were excellent. Atlantico on the contrary was overpriced and disappointing . Overall another great stay in a unique location"
"We really enjoyed our vacation at Vila Vita. The accomodation was very comfortable, outstanding kitchen(s) and very high level of personal service. We were fortunate that the hotel was not very busy but this also meant not all restaurants were open every night. However, the hotel staff went to great extent to make us happy. We will definitely come back!"

"Let’s be honest, 2020 is not the year to expect perfection if you are fortunate enough to get away. We have just come back from 10 days at Pinecliffs - 3 at the Ocean Suites and 7 in the Golf apartments. It was lovely to see some familiar faces in the staff team and everyone was doing a fantastic job to keep everyone safe and happy in these difficult Covid times. As regular visitors it would be easy to talk about the things that we missed (zest, O’Grill, the hotel bar to name a few) but it’s better to focus on what we enjoyed and that was a relaxing break in the sun which felt 90% normal. This was down to the great effort by the staff working hard to support guests in the most challenging year and I struggle with some of the negative comments I read here. We experienced great service, great food and a truly relaxing break. We didn’t enjoy waiting for a table at the beautiful Mirador but surely that’s to be expected with social distancing and keeping everyone safe? We never waited more than 15 minutes and as always it was worth it for the beautiful location and drinks, all served in the cleanest environment with a smile. The garden service was also great and the new Pinecliffs Eats a fantastic addition - thanks Rute and the team 😊 It would be great to see this initiative again next year too. All in all, we feel fortunate to have enjoyed a lovely holiday and also to support Pinecliffs at what must be a different time. Well done everyone and we look forward to seeing you next year - hopefully without the masks 🙏🏻🤞"
"I stayed at Ocean Suites in late September. It was a perfect location for a perfect vacation. The resort itself has a number of restaurants to choose from, but by far our favorite was Yakuza...expensive but OMG wonderful food. The beach restaurant MARE was very good for fresh fish, and the sunset views were stunning. We did not eat there in the day time this trip but I thought the newly remodeled roof deck was expensive at Euros135/day for a double bed. The hotel beds on the beach are free, and its a pretty spectacular beach. All in all this property is in a great location and if one wants to travel [particularly Eastwards] there are some great beaches near Tivera accessible by ferry. Praia da Terra Estreita is well worth a visit. [2 beds, an umbrella and 2 drinks Euros15!!"
"I spent 4 days at this amazing resort with my daughter and my friend. This was our 2nd visit. The staff are wonderful, the restaurants and food is fantastic. The beach is amazing and a beautiful beach side restaurant with something for everyone. You will love watching the sun set while sipping a glass of champagne. I can’t wait to go back."

"Super resort, will definitely visit again, compared to Spanish hotels is really cost-effective. Few Asians, the hotel gardens are beautiful, the service is good, and the restaurant is Michelin-quality. The best hotel on this trip, too satisfied."

Pinhal do Concelho, Praia da Falésia, Albufeira, Faro, Portugal
"This time was our fourth visit. We found it by chance in February 2015 when the hotel had only been open for three years. We have returned in April, September and now, again in February. It is hard to put into words how special this place is. The facilities are excellent but the true value of this place is in its staff. I have never been to a hotel where the staff are as friendly or as attentive as they are here. It is well managed and the hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained (there are a few tiny tired areas after 8 years but way too small and insignificant to detract) There are five gorgeous pools with lots of sun loungers and seats. Fresh towels are at hand all of the time. But the beach is only a stones throw from the hotel with a well lit ‘board walk’ and steps down to the Atlantic coast. There is an incredible dining experience in the Al Quimia which is out of this world but the normal restaurant Abayd have made some amazing developments since we last visited and the off season choices from an a la carte menu where stunning each night (in the height of the season you are usually served from an impressive buffet) Congratulations to the chefs. Delicious meals every night. The waiting staff are fantastic with many of them speaking perfect English but are happy to help you learn Portuguese, they just can’t do enough for you and no request is too difficult for them to accommodate. On our last night, because it was our last night the gave us a glass of Port which was such a lovely touch. The receptionists at the front desk are also friendly and accommodating and go above and beyond to make your stay fantastic. We chose our stay to coincide with Valentine’s and to our surprise on the afternoon of Valentine’s day, there was a knock at the door and the lovely Customer Relations lady, Anastasia, arrived with beautiful gift from the hotel of a bottle of red and some some gorgeous chocolates in a presentation box! We have had the most relaxing time, again and we just need to plan our next visit. The management should be utterly proud of their staff. Obrigada por nossas férias fantásticas, parabéns!"
"Me and my husband stayed at Epic Sana for a week in early September. What can I say!! It’s a wonderful hotel with really great facilities and welcoming staff. They dealt with covid procedures very well. Everyone was spaced out during meals and they have a strict mask policy indoors so we always felt safe. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Carlos (King Carlos!) for great service during dinner, Beautriz for poolside service, Daniel at Open Deck and poolside, and Cristina who always welcomed us so nicely for breakfast. The beach is lovely, but if you walk down the coast a little you’ll find some much quieter patches - so pack some provisions and walk down a little further away from the crowds! The food was lovely and of a high quality. We had dinner a few times at the hotel and lunch most days. The rooms are spacious with ample cupboard space, and the decor was fab. We had a pool view room and it was lush. All in all, it was a really lovely trip, the only small critique I would have, is more music at the pool and at dinner etc. But perhaps the entertainment was reduced due to covid etc. There was one very fun happy hour at the pool with a saxophone player - I would love more things like this! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and I definitely plan on going again! "
"We spent a lovely week in this hotel. The location is fabulous with miles of golden sands. We actually walked into Vilamoura along the beach. It’s a bit of a trek but we had coffee in Vilamoura on the marina and then walked back. Due to time of year and COVID the hotel was understandably quiet. Hygiene was excellent with hand sanitizers strategically placed and all staff wearing masks. The staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely cleaner helped me with the tv remote. The evening we arrived we ate in the Al Kima (think that’s the name) restaurant. It was expensive but worth every euro for the fabulous fine cuisine. It closed that night but it was one you’d only go to once or twice in a week anyway. The rooms were lovely. We had a small problem with the lights which was solved promptly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet break away."

"Very recommended to stay, cost-effective, the environment is very good. Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. The design of the room's small pendulum is also very distinctive. Next time, check in."

Vale Do Lobo,Algarve, Almansil, Faro, Portugal
"We enjoyed our stay. Appearing right at the end of the season a number of local restaurants were closed or closing, so check to be sure. We were not keen to eat in the hotel as the menu looked limited and the two buffet nights were, we thought, exorbitant(€40 each) You can get vouchers for buffet dinner at €35 each but this would only be good value if you wanted to eat a large amount! There are lots of good restaurants a short taxi ride away (€24 return). The hotel is only 5 mins walk from the beach - which is huge and clean. Our room was spacious and clean with a view of the sea in the distance. Nice little balcony though a bit cool most of our stay for sitting out! If you play tennis facilities are here too. Pool heated but we didn’t use due to chill wind! Service very good, staff very friendly. The golf shuttle buses have to be booked 24hrs ahead to guarantee a space, and you must book your return time. You can get this changed if required by phoning the hotel. We played San Lorenzo and Pinheros Olives/Pines. Both in good condition and had some tough holes especially in the wind! Have plenty of balls available. "
"We had a lovely, relaxing 3 nights at Dona Filipa. We have been several times before but this was our best time - from check in all staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room with great views and near the pool which was great! We enjoyed our time on the beach and I have to say the bar staff by the pool and in the bar were excellent and we look forward to coming back next year."
"Once again stayed at Dona Filipa and played San Lorenzo. Hotel was its usual, really nice, breakfast excellent and bar area very accommodating. The old classic rooms are getting a bit dated and it would be nice to see the hotel bring them up to standard of the new rooms. However, we love it and come back year after year. "

"We have a bond for a week a year and this gives us the benefits of discounts at the restaurants and bars. We always choose to stay in a golf apartment which we find great for two couples , the apartments are well fitted and have all the necessary features to make a stay enjoyable. We particularly like the grounds , beach and the 9 hole golf course. Sometimes the golf course is too busy and the starters need to ensure that the golfers have some golf experience as many are allowed to play without a handicap. This slows play considerably and makes a round very tedious. The hotel' s restaurants are very expensive and we prefer eating off site either at Vilamoura Marina or at the local places just outside the hotel. We love Akvavit at Vilamoura and Salt and Pepper a short walk to the right of the hotel is another good choice. Overall we find Pine Cliffs a great place for a family break. We worry that it continues to expand and hope that it does not lose its friendliness and service levels. We look forward to another week next year and returning to a place that seems like a second home after some 15 years of visits."
"I have been a guest at Pine Cliffs 7 or 8 times and have never been disappointed. It is perfect every time. There are so many things to do witthin the resort as well as outside and the resort restaurants are unfailingly delicious. The staff is tremendously friendly and helpful. The views and the beach are to die for. If I were to win the lottery, I would buy an apartment there in the Golf Suites. I have been in 3 of the different types of accomodation and all are beautifully decorated and maintained. The gardens are amazing. There is nothing I could find bad to say about Pine Cliffs."
"We are currently staying in a 3 bedroom golf suite. The accommodation is perfect. Great location in the resort. Apartment is newly refurbished, very clean and great location. Staff are all very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Champagne bar for the sunset is magnificent."

Herdade dos Salgados Resort - Guia, Albufeira, Faro, Portugal
"We arrived end of August and were not too sure what to expect with the covid restrictions, but we had an absolutely fantastic holiday. Staff all very friendly, and the kids club, activities, and mini disco etc was all running as normal, just with a little social distancing in place. Entertainment in the evening was usually a singer, or a small band in the huge lobby, which was nice and relaxing. Tables all very well spaced out, and everyone was great wearing masks when going up to the bar or when walking through to toilets or lifts etc. Dinner in the buffet restaurant was 'assisted', so you queued up at the area you wanted, and there were numerous members of staff lined up walk you round and place everything on your plates. Sometimes the queues looked really busy but there was always alot of staff about so the queues went in quick. Drinks were typically served at the table, but you could go up to the bar too. Very nice spacious grounds, with different pools, and kids play area close to the shallow pool with pirate ship slides. Just one bar for all the pools but the queues didnt seem to last long. Nice ice cream included in the AI, aswell as Somersby cider which was lovely. No cava or sparkling wine which was disappointing, but the wines were nice, and it made a nice change having cider available. Hotel not close to anything, but there was a great tourist train that took you round to the beach, otherwise it was a 15 minute walk. Nice bar and Italian restaurant just across the road from the car park where the train drops you off. Bedroom was huge, and the walk in shower in the huge open plan style bathroom was amazing. Unusual layout, but huge, and lovely big balcony looking on to the pools. We were staying a week so were given a voucher for a free meal in the a la carte restaurant up the top of the hotel. Beautiful sunset views, and the food was amazing in there."
"We went 25th August for 10 nights. We weren’t sure what to expect due to Covid19. So you have to wear a face mask at all times unless you are sat on sun bed or at a table eating or drinking. All staff wear masks at all times. There’s hand sanitizer stations everywhere. Buffet restaurant you can’t help yourself there’s a barrier and the staff stand behind it and ask what you want and they pick for you. The hotel was immaculate. The staff were attentive and never moaned once about wearing masks and just remember these people have to work in 30 degree heat for 10 hours a day wearing a mask at all times!!! I take my hat off to them. This was our second visit and our wedding anniversary, we arrived and were given key cards to our room and there were rose petals on the bed and towels made into swans and a bottle of champagne on ice and a really lovely note from the staff welcoming us. The children’s club team were very enthusiastic and worked their socks off to entertain. The room was cleaned and turned down daily with fresh towels. Food was lovely and lots of choice. Our daughter cut her knee in the room it was quite a gash. First aid was very quick to help out very attentive. The next day the nurse looked at it and suggested we go to A&E, we did this and although it was a wait when we came back. We needed a fit to fly document from the doctor for insurance purposes. The hotel offered to drive us back to get this which we thought was very generous. When we went back to the room there was a box of treats for our daughter and a little note from the hotel. When we were leaving we had an early flight and early pick up. We had to leave before breakfast opened and the hotel staff opened up the restaurant an hour early so we could eat breakfast before being picked up. In the light of what’s going on in the world the hotel and staff did their absolute best to make it a memorable experience and it certainly was."
"This is a fabulous hotel, albeit a taxi ride outside of the main Albufeira city. There is a mixture of hotel(s) rooms and apartments that suit all requirements. Buffet food is available throughout the day and in the evening, with a wide choice of food available. Leisure facilities looked great, and it seems a popular location for golfers. Rooms are very well suited and appointed, large and spacious with a good size balcony. Beach is close by (even though it looks a long way in the distance) if you follow the signs through the resort. Overall a nice place to stay (stayed off-season)"

"What a crazy time to holiday! I hope this review really helps those travelling to Portugal during COVID19 times. First family holiday/travel for us as 3 (with a 2 year old). Booked in September last year, couldn’t get a refund on hotel, and as it cost us around £1700 for a week, writing those savings off weren’t an option. Hotel tried to support us with a voucher for next year, however flights were twice the price for next year as well as hotel being more expensive, so took the brave decision on to go holiday to Portugal. Checking in was lengthy, wasn’t sure what the point was, in me doing the pre check in stuff a few days before we arrived as reception did it again. This wasnt ideal after a day of travelling and arriving at 10pm with a tired toddler. Aside from that reception staff were excellent and really good with helping us with options to extend the time of us using the room on our check out day to allow our son to have a nap. We weren’t being collected until 6pm and check out was 11am. To stay in the room till 2pm it cost us an extra 20e. Room was great, clean, freshened up each day, water bottles replenished daily, one slight moan was we were only ever given 2 towels for 3 of us which was a little frustrating. Kettle available but no tea or coffee sachets, small fridge very useful! Swimming pools, there were so many options with different depths and the 2ft one was quieter and perfect for a toddler. Lots of sun loungers and space in shade if required. Lovely little bus/train style transport down to the beach which takes 5 minutes, although we spent every day at pool, definitely make the effort to go to the beach it’s beautiful. No shops around but a couple little huts/vans that sell over priced inflatables and usual beach/pool stuff next to the beach. The food was beautiful, mainly used the 2 smaller restaurants that serve a variety of meats, pastas, pizzas, salad stuff. Couldn’t fault the variety. No help yourself buffet due to covid but guests queue and staff visit the stations for you to do your meals. The staff at the bar and in the restaurants are incredible they absolutely make the hotel what it is and I really hope the management recognise this. It must be incredibly challenging building relationships with guests when you have a mask on day and night! I can honestly not thank the staff enough for helping us feel settled and helping us at meal times with a tricky toddler. After many yearly holidays the entertainment staff here are the best I have ever witnessed. Each member of the team went out of their way to engage with every single child within the resort, at all ages! The programme of entertainment was varied and although we weren’t up late enough to see some of the evening stuff, it sounded brilliant! During the day, crafts, sports and various activities going on. Our son was a little bit too small for most of the stuff but he still used the play areas and ran around on the stage, chasing the entertain"
"Booked as an all inclusive golf package I went with my wife and 2 friends. We arrived early and didn’t expect to be able to check in until 4 it wasn’t a problem even though it was only about 13:00 that said it is the end of the season and didn’t appear to be overly busy. The room sorry suite was spacious 2 bedrooms and and a living area, which could be used as a third bedroom if necessary each would of course have its own ensuite bathroom. The suite had air-con, safe, kettle, small fridge and enough closet space to accommodate the most fashionable of groups. Oddly they dont provide coffee in the rooms, knowing this i did ask why and was told “Why would we do that there’s a cafe a short distance away” its just how things are done in the Algarve. So if must drink coffee between 00:00 and 07:00 (when the cafe is closed) then take your own. There are a few out door pools which are round and not very deep so no diving. I didn’t use the pools or the sun beds not warm enough for me. All inclusive food and drink. What can we say other than it was great. It is buffet style I say style as COVID as altered how you are served you look to see whats available tell them what you want the get it for you and you take it back to your table. I thought it worked well but I like to see wants available before I choose so my friends thought it funny to watch as I went around the the displays with the waiter following me as though he was attached to me. The food was as you would expect was lovely, with plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some foods that we the British expect to be piping hot, eg. Boiled potatoes. Ain’t! Maybe this is because that the climate is warmer than england o the diner turnover isn’t as large as everyone would like. Other than that it was as good as anywhere. Entertainment, varied everything from owls to karaoke I thought it was entertaining. COVID 19 precautions worked well most of the time and the staff tried to enforce the mask rule where possible. I little about the golf course next door its about 1/4 mile or 1/2 a K so take a light bag as you have to carry it not so bad going but its a lot heavier coming back We visited at the end of their season and so was quiet with no real need to prebook the restaurants no queues and the bars were almost deserted would return in a heartbeat. Staff were friendly and were certainly helpful Best holiday I’ve had in a long time."
"Our Junior Suite was amazing with huge balcony, large comfortable bed and pillows. A large sitting TV area too. They also provide a kettle and fridge full of water so you don't need to worry about getting some from the airport. The restaurant, reception, cleaning staff are amazing. Some of the friendliest nicest helpful people you could meet on holiday. They so hard working and patient while wearing a mask and always ready to help. The food is fantastic. Great choice. Excellent quality meats, fish, sides, desserts. They even found a hmm wear a mask when entering, exiting, and ordering food. They have a barrier in front of the buffet food and you point and ask for what you want. Same with drinks. You book the slots at various restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner using Internet (or via reception if you don't have a smartphone) Most of the people on holiday here were Portuguese but they are such warm friendly people that warmed our hearts. There is a regular free shuttle which runs to beach and back every 30 mins. There are also some nice walks nearby along the Lagao Salgados bird reserve which is fantastic for birdwatching and walks. It has a boardwalk most of the way. Overall a fantastic holiday that was just what we needed. We definitely hope to return. "
