"This hotel is amazing. A home away from home. The hotel is elegant and beautiful. Each room is very tastefully decorated. Cleanliness is well maintained. The bedrooms are spacious and tea and coffee with fresh milk (a huge benefit for me as I dislike processed). The hotel is situated in attractive grounds which I recommend taking a turn during your stay. The bar is warmly decorated and comfortable, with a good selection of drinks. The social rooms have real log fires which provide warmth, atmosphere and a wonderful homely smell. After a great nights sleep, breakfast holds a warm welcome, where if you are lucky, you will also see the resident herd of deer taking their breakfast, running around and playing. The breakfast is as fabulous as the rest of the food, with fresh fruit, juices and yoghurt, homemade toast and butter, quality coffee and teas. The selection of cooked food is a wonderful start to the day. The hotel holds a marvellous diary of events throughout the year. All are well thought out and arranged down to the last detail. The food on the menus are locally sourced. Menus and flight wines are well matched and the entertainment is always of the best quality. The staff are the absolute treasure of this hotel and restaurant. The welcome is always warm, the service is second to none and there is nothing which is too much trouble. Thoughtful assistance is at hand at all times. The professional training is evident, but they are intrinsic to the enjoyment of each stay. I can not recommend the restaurant or the hotel enough. It provides consistency high quality which never disappoints. "
"We booked our family meal of up to17 people for a 3 course Sunday dinner. Booking was easy and communication was brilliant, there were many options to choose from with added extras such as Prosecco upon arrival for all guests. Me and my wife have been to Swinfen hall many times so I knew the standard of service was brilliant, and this time was no different. Staff were welcoming and the level of service was simply brilliant. There was an overall feeling that everyone there did their utmost to make sure the day ran perfect. The food is always delicious, I had prawn cocktail to start which I could have kept eating, the sauce was perfect sat on crisp lettuce with meaty prawns. Roast beef for dinner was amazing, cooked medium rare, the cut of the beef was divine, just melted upon the touch of the knife, Yorkshire pudding was home made and tasted perfect, the vegetables alongside were fresh sweet tasting. For Pudding I opted for salted caramel and chocolate torte, A very rich pudding which concluded the high standard of food perfectly. Coffee was served alongside a home made orange Turkish delight sweet. The maître d was brilliant, funny and really welcoming, made our day special and I personally thank you for your hard work, you coordinated the meal service and drinks perfectly. Our special day was celebrated at the best possible place, we cannot wait to return again! Thank you."
