"Disappointing experience for the cost, not a good value for the money - will not return. Had much higher expectations than what was actually delivered. Felt like they are missing leadership who knows how to deliver on the luxury-boutique experience. The main lobby and bar could use a spruce up, walls/furniture were well worn. Many basics were missed and nothing in the room screamed 'luxury'. Marriot is capable of luxury, just not at this property. The good parts about this property... - Staff - Location - View - Quiet hallways - Could not hear neighbors - Large bathroom - Bose bluetooth speaker in room - General design - feels open due to high ceilings, building has interesting history and some original bits were kept The letdowns that led to not feeling truly feel 'luxury boutique'... - Safe didn't work, had to get security up to fix - Room service didn't bring coffee cups with order of coffee - had to call, then remind each day - Pillows, flat as a pancake, had to ask twice for additional ones -Mattress on weird frame that makes noise when you turn over in bed - No blackout shades, bright mornings - Towels felt same as from their Courtyard properties, basic, not luxury -Supplied glassware in room not replaced, they took used ones, had to call twice to get new ones - Turndown service inconsistent in pulling down additional solar shades to help block morning sun - Too few hooks in massive bathroom (3), towels can't dry overnight on a minimalist hook -Slippery floor in shower - No door on shower, allows water to splash onto main bathroom floor making it slippery too -Massive floor lamp in room arcs over couch making room feel less airy than it could and was awkward to work around - Main closet has freestanding small dresser that didn't allow small suitcase to fit on stand unless moved, then it blocked closet door from closing, too much fiddling to make things work - Main closet had led light strip had come detached, had to ask Engineering to fix - Extra closet in room had 10 foot ceiling, but no rod to hang clothes or any shelves - Noise level from construction to east starting at 6:30AM each weekday, short airhorn blasts are just a sign you're in a big city?! - Main floor Bar/lounge space felt overly worn, marked up walls, heavily used chairs/couches/pillows/throws - Bartender (friendly) constantly touching hair, not washing hands, then the condiments going into drinks, even observed them picking something out from coupe glass, then proceed to pour drink into it & serve to guest" "My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the New York EDITION!! Dana V. (Front Desk Manager) went above and beyond to ensure a fabulous experience for our 30th Wedding Anniversary ! Every staff member I encountered, from the greeter to the check- in team to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! The rooms were impeccably clean, very comfortable, and the Clocktower (in-house restaurant) was simply amazing. I highly recommend the New York EDITION on Madison Ave. for anyone visiting NYC! Being a Lifetime Marriott Titanium, I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and the New York EDITION is on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Thank you so much Dana and team!!" "We have stayed at Edition more than 20 times and several times since they opened post-covid It is wonderful to know that the service is still as wonderful as ever, always striving to make you feel at home. Especially special thanks to Will Rentschler, who personally ensured I had an unforgettable birthday celebration. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are amazing, the views are breathtaking, and the location could not be better. I will definitely stay here again, and there is no better place to stay in NYC."

"The hotel is very close to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a walk takes place. The rooms are small but beautifully furnished. Two bottles of Evian mineral water are delivered every day. The first day has fruit bowls. Many people in the lobby elevators wear clothes to highlight New York fashion. It was unfortunate that I met an Oolong front desk man and gave me two pre-authorizations. I had to pay a hundred for the prepayment of the house. He brushed a hundred and then brushed for 590 dollars. I didn't point out that he didn't explain this to me. When I showed the text message of payment, he went to the office and said something to another person. Then the person came out and checked that they didn't collect more money, everything was OK, then I asked. What should I do with this money? The man said that he will be able to return it to me. This is a mistake. This is of course a mistake. The lady who came to check did not apologize and said that there was no problem. I am very dissatisfied with this. I didn’t receive more than five hundred dollars in the morning, but I returned a hundred dollars. It was too much. I checked this matter with them when I checked out. They said that they didn’t collect more money. The pre-authorization will be after I left. I gave it back in a few days. They did not collect the money but brushed up the pre-authorization, and did not release the pre-authorization when I left. It was almost a month before I received the automatic cancellation. The rooms in the hotel are very good and good value for money, but for the work at the front desk, remind the Chinese compatriots to pay attention!" "Our teenage son and I just returned from our Spring Break trip to NYC. We decided to stay at The Mark after reading such favorable reviews. I'm thrilled to say the favorable reviews are an understatement based on our experience. The exceptional service began long before we arrived to the hotel. The most wonderful, thoughtful and caring concierge - Suzana M. - looked after every single detail. She was instrumental in making this the best mom/son trip we could have ever imagined. Upon check-in we were greeted by the lovely front desk staff and beyond pleased with the seamless process. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was superb. The water pressure in the shower is so great it felt like a massage. The food at the hotel is delicious and the service is impeccable. We loved the breakfast each morning and eating a late lunch in the bar/lounge with Vlad who made sure every detail was perfect. Our son wouldn’t miss the hot dog cart and getting to know the magnificat Harry who operates the cart and made sure we had everything we needed. We would not stay anywhere else in the city after this experience. We felt so welcome and taken care of at all times. The hotel is so well staffed that everything is anticipated before you need to ask. A few other members of the team we would like to acknowledge are Gabriela and Maria (concierge), David (front desk) and Tony (front desk). The front desk manager Tony handed us his card on our way out and expressed how much he appreciated our stay and would love to welcome us back. We will be back!" "Just got home from a recent stay at the Mark with my partner and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. From the attentive staff, to the chic and elegant design of the furnishings and rooms (we stayed in a courtyard Queen), and the wonderful location of the hotel (a block from Central Park)...it was a lovely experience. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was very chic (I particularly love the design of the floors)...oh, and the shower water pressure was awesome, lol. Everything just seemed nice and crisp and clean...was a joy to return to the hotel room after being out and about. My only gripe is that we weren't able to get an outside table to have brunch at the hotel restaurant Jean Georges. Might be a good idea to give hotel guests a real priority when it comes to eating at the restaurant...but maybe that's just me...small thing really. Otherwise, was a great experience...would definitely stay there again!"

"The Carlyle is pure heaven from the moment you walk in- from the very welcoming doormen and front desk staff to everything else! David the Concierge is amazing, totally on top of every request and he sends printed booking confirmations to your room straight away - he found the best theatre tickets, best tables in restaurants, and top limo services- in addition, a smart hotel car will take you on short trips if it is available. The room was perfect, quiet, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, duvet and feather pillows, lots of fluffy towels, and easy to reach plugs for computers. Great housekeeping and turn down service. Temperature in my room dropped at night (unusually cold weather in April) and a fan heater was brought up within minutes, warmed me up straight away. Telephones are answered straight away, by a very polite and helpful team. Iconic bar with fabulous live music, delicious drinks and top service- a beautiful room, full of style and atmosphere. Restaurant is amazing too, proper old school level of excellence. Room service arrives quickly and beautifully presented. Love every aspect of The Carlyle- it is beyond fabulous!" "Having stayed at the Carlyle for almost 40 years, I was looking forward to spending Easter with my daughter , who was also celebrating her birthday. I booked a superior suite, which from the picture on the website looked exactly like the room we had in 2019. However, it was not the same, so I questioned the discrepancy, and was told that room was a Carlyle suite and would be $400 more. I was already at a high rate and on the American Express platinum program which generally provides an upgrade if available. Eventually, Claudia, the night manager found a similar room, that had not been renovated yet, which we like much more. Not as nice a view, and no coffee pot, and no lotions, but eventually that was rectified. The Carlyle is still the grande dame of NYC, and in spite of the changes, it is still a lovely hotel. No more elevator operators, or buffet breakfast, but Bemelmans Bar is wonderful, and the staff incredible. I particularly want to applaud Claudia, Dimitri, Bemelmans manager, and Roger who never left us thirsty. Also great service from David and the concierge desk. Everyone at the hotel made us feel comfortable and welcome. Its not quite what it used to be, but still has great charm and ambience. Thank you to the entire staff!!!" "Our stay at the Carlyle was spectacular as always. However, it was particularly special in this case as we made reservations to celebrate my birthday, only to realize it was MET Gala weekend. Not to worry, Sonal worked her magic as always and was able to find terrific rooms for my wife and I, along with two other couples. Braye and I were happy to introduce the magic of the Carlyle to our friends- who now understand what we have been telling them about the special place on 76th & Madison. We look forward to coming back again in a few months!"

"This was my second stay at Sixty SoHo and I still love it. The interiors are so cool. Our room was spotless and bed comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. The location is great for walking and there are so many restaurants, shops, bakeries etc close by. We had dinner at the hotel Bristrot Leo and it was good. It is also nice to sit and chat in the Lobby, it is very inviting. Unfortunately the rooftop bar doesn't open until May so we missed that. Ask for a quiet room. " "The room is relatively small, it is a bit difficult to turn around if the shower is fat. If you have sleep problems, please be careful: the floor is not soundproof, walking around, listening to the toilet is all real, especially the sound of flushing the toilet. On the floors, the elevators are dim, which is clearly the hue of their pursuit. The floor is not high, so there is no view at all. The room facing the street is noisy. The only bright spot is that it is located in the center of the SOHO area. The subway and dining are more convenient." "Perfect on everything in my opinion. Loved the food at restaurant, energy, vibe, environment. The only thing to note is the walls are very thin and you can hear everything with neighbors. I’ll still be back!"

"I don't even know where to start. The check in was confusing as we had not ordered breakfast yet were charged $20 for pastries...apparently it is a standard charge. They charged $100 to our credit card for any potential damage and in case we smoked in the room. We are in our 60s, non smokers who are unlikely to be having wild parties. There were little insects in the bed which I've discovered are bed bugs (see images) that gave me hives on my legs and incredibly itchy. We've never come across anything like this before and it's very disturbing. The facilities are awful, everything is damaged, cracked and grubby. It all needs ripping out and given a good clean. The carpet was stained and threadbare. There was no bath mat, hand towels or face cloths on the 3rd day when we returned late in the evening. The paintwork and decor is awful.5..it was depressing to be in the room. The h6eater/aircon was jammed against the beds as there was so little room...which is worrying so we turned it off when we went to bed in case it caught fire. The only good thing was the location...we stayed out all the time to make the most of our time in New York. Image 1: One of the tiny insects that we're in the bedding which caused itching and hives. Image 2: Insects crawled in and out of the cracks Image 3: Sockets were cracked, look like it's been that way for some time. We reported the metal tissue cover which kept falling off and they sorted that. Image 4: Lampshades were worn and tired Image 5: Threadbare and stained carpet Image 6: Cracks on wash basin " "I usually don’t complain, but I had to in this case. The room smelled strongly of stale smoke. The sink was clogged on the day we arrived (they did fix this issue). The bed squeaked with every movement, waking me up every time i turned. Hot air was coming through vent even After the heater was turned off. There was not even a bottle of water in the room and when i tried to get water from a vending machine for the price of $3.00, it ate all the money. The in room phone kept giving busy signal every time I tried to call to the concierge or to hotel services. When i finally went downstairs and complained, they smiled nicely and promised to send somebody to fix the problems. I ask how they’re going to fix the issue of the stale smoke smell. So they basically blew me off. I did not get a different room, the sink was very fixed, but the room continued to smell, the bed continues to squeaked every motion. I was in New York for one night to see my daughter who I haven’t seen for two months. It was a very busy day for us and it was the only night we’re going to spend together I did not want to turn it into the night of complaints at the staff. So I chose to stay in this very very sub -optimal room that they call superior. My daughter will be studying in New York for the next 4 years, I will never go back to this hotel. The worst stay ever." "Hotel location is good, in New York's most prosperous midtown Manhattan, where to go, Times Square, Empire State Building can walk, take the Hudson River, go to Washington to take a bus is also very convenient, the site is in the hotel and Had Between the rivers. In New York, where the price of more than two hundred dollars a day is not expensive, it is not cheap. The reception at the entrance was an Asian woman. I felt that there was no enthusiasm for foreigners who came across the road, but it didn’t matter. The room is small, but it can be understood, after all, the location is excellent."

"I didn't have breakfast at the hotel because the booking price is not included. Many cafes near the hotel. I chose a French breakfast in a French restaurant next to the hotel and it felt good. The location is good, within a ten minute walk from the Empire State Building and Macy's." "Access is safe and convenient, the hotel has a beautiful environment, and the service is quite attentive. One day, when the man went out, he specially called the hotel car to take us. The bathroom is large and the facilities are complete." "Amazing location and hotel. Top notch service. "This week, I checked in at the Baccarat Hotel in New York, and the experience was really amazing. Various details fully reflect the comfort experience of the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, someone will help you with your luggage, ask your name, and tell you to check in on the second floor of the hotel.
Then after arriving on the second floor, the little brothers and sisters who checked in are very good-looking, and then they will double check the room. At this time, you can wait in the lobby for a while (the lobby is really beautiful, full of crystal lights). The photo is really amazing. Absolute child.
I booked a standard room. The room is not big, but it is really beautiful. I like this style of room very much. You will be given chocolates when you check in, and each room has a rose, which is really nice to take pictures. American hotels rarely give slippers, but Baccarat gave them. Turn down at night, and will send macarons (the best macarons I have ever eaten that are not sweet and taste great).
The service is really at the ceiling level in the United States (it also competes with the top luxury hotels in China). Almost everyone of them will know your name and will serve you patiently. This one has passed most of the American luxury hotels.
The hotel is fully equipped with a swimming pool. The swimming pool is also the same style, simply, every part is beautiful. The location of the hotel is opposite to MoMA, which is really convenient if you are interested in MoMA. This is the only American hotel I've ever wanted to stay again, and the last time I had that desire was at The Middle House." "My mom and I went to afternoon tea at the Baccarat Hotel in the Grand Salon for Mother’s Day. We have done a Mother’s Day afternoon tea service every Mother’s Day for the past 8 years in NYC. The service and food was undoubtably the best we have seen in our many years of afternoon teas. Our waitresses Sophia and Presia were kind, attentive, and sweethearts. Sophia brought over a happy Mother’s Day macaroon set as a surprise. It was so sweet and thoughtful. Furthermore, I cannot say enough about the manager, Sandip. He took us on a tour of the Grand Salon, bar, and petite salon and shared with us the historical background concerning the crystals and Baccarat. It was clear that his Swiss education and customer service experience was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgable in the history of Baccarat and presented it to us as an informative and enjoyable walkthrough of the glamorous history of the beautiful French crystal company. We cannot recommend this afternoon tea enough. It was an amazing experience from the food to the service we received. We will definitely be returning! Thank you to the amazing staff and special thanks to the manager, Sandip! He made our experience extremely exciting and memorable!" "I had heard of this hotel and recently met some friends over drinks at the Bar followed by dinner. Right from the front door of the hotel to the entire experience, it was great. My friends were as impressed as I was. The doormen were welcoming and asked how they can help. The bar staff had some good recommendations and the restaurant staff could not have been nicer and friendlier during dinner. I am looking forward to my next visit to this amazing hotel."

"Living in the four seasons of the New Year, nothing else, but suddenly broadcast on New Year's Day and the night, saying that it was a fire alarm, woke us all up, and the domestic epidemic situation was already tense. Later asked, saying that other guests triggered the smoke detector." "Very good experience, but the service details are still far from Asia. Sometimes the night bed service is not available. The glass of the water bar is less than one day. The bath towel suddenly disappears. The bottled water seems to be given by mood." "The location is excellent, the room is spacious and the design is reasonable and many details are popular. The hotel is located in Lower New York very close to the World Trade Center. Hotel people are rarely very quiet."

The March to May spring and September to November autumn are warm, cozy, and good for being outdoors. Bringing along a light jacket is advisable due to the huge morning and night temperature difference. July to August are relatively warmer, and the beaches are particularly popular; do bring along something to prevent the burns. Come winter in November to March, the weather would be noticeably colder and snowstorms or blizzards are frequent, and therefore outdoors activities are inadvisable. The December climate is really cold and it is strongly suggested that you bring along winter clothing.
