Agios Stefanos, Monemvasia, Peloponnese, Greece
"Although the location and the rooms are really great, the breakfast is exceptional, the activities that are organized on a daily basis are creating a nice experience keeping you in the hotel... there is a big “BUT”: the reception service is poor, the restaurant menu is very limited & we had a very dirty room!!! Reception: We arrived a rainy day, two couples with two babies, after 4 hours trip, and we found a long queue of people in the reception trying to check out. Nobody said hello, nobody asked to carry our luggage (although the hotel owns golf carts), nobody offered a welcome drink or a place to sit while waiting for over half an hour. We left our luggage in the room and moved straight ahead to the restaurant for lunch. From a very limited menu we were informed from the waitress that there was no fava, octopus, burger and salmon. There were just three options from the main dishes. Room: Going back to the room, we found food leftovers from the previous guests (both in the bathroom and the kitchen), dust on the furniture, and the floor was really dirty- it was obvious that no vacuum was done for many days/stays). We informed the receptionist and even after that comment and the visit of house keeping, the room was still dirty!!! They removed the leftovers, but the dust was still there. Moreover the mattress was leaning towards one side, and the only thing that they did so to fix it was to turn it the other way round. We decided to leave a day earlier than planned, due to weather conditions, and although they should charge us for half night, they did not due to the bad cleaning experience that we had. This was of course a good point and showed a really good will, but the actual still says that for four days we were staying in a dirty room. "
"My parents and I spent a few days at the hotel in December and loved every minute of it. The staff is warm and friendly - Nikos at the restaurant, Panos with activities, and Steve who explained bread and olive oil making were highlights. We enjoyed bread making (and eating!), soap making, and learning about olive oil production. The spa was also excellent and Licha was a very good masseuse and staff member at the spa. The rooms and property were amazing, spacious, and full of character. The staff noticed my father had trouble with steps and offered us a room that was more convenient without us having to ask. The location is excellent and we were able to visit the old town of Monemvasia as well as Kastania cave while we were there. Highly recommend the hotel. "
"A classy hotel ideal for unique location of Greece !! Hospitality and kindness as well as a wonderful spa !! Strongly recommended the Spa services where Ms Litsa Papooli the spa manager with her positivity and open-heart will make you feel relaxed and at home !!"

Kastro Monemvasías, Monemvasia, Peloponnese, Greece
"We stayed in the Stellaki building, which is one of the locations they have. It was a studio with small kitchen, where you could cook your own meal. A seperate bathroom to reach by stairs, Kitchen is at same floor dining area with television. Airco in mainroom and in bedroom. Bedroom you can come by another step down from other side of the main area. From kitchen there is a door that leads to a nice terras with plants and flowers. It is mal and you share it with two other studio’s. No sea view, but really a very quiet and romantic place for spending some nights. Breakfast included, but for this you must walk to end of town...close by...to Malvasia Traditionel hotel. If weather i,s good you can sit outside with view over the sea and Monemvasia. Breakfast really is great. A location of this is really recommendable for just married couples."
"The hotel reception is on the main laneway after you pass through the walls. From there you are shown your actual room location at one of several different sites. Mine was in the Stellaki building in a comfortable apartment with living/dining area and kitchen. The location is close to the sea, where I had a very nice swim after walking around Monemvasia and climbing to see the hilltop fortress and Agia Sofia church. The accommodation in an old stone building had loads of atmosphere, but also a modern bathroom and good air conditioning. Very friendly and helpful staff. Terrific breakfast on a terrace overlooking the water. Although there is some walking between sites, the village is small and can be crossed in just a few minutes."
"The hotel is nice and unique. The staffs are friendly and breakfast is great ! I've read all the great reviews before booking the hotel but I regret it once we arrived. To be honest, this place is not convinient for family with young children (under 6). It's an old village and the roads are made of stones and the steps are difficult ; really not ideal with big or heavy luggages and small kids. Also it's very difficult to park the car and if you find a spot it'd be likely a lot of walking as the village/the hotel area is not accessible for cars. If you have lots of luggages and small childrens I would not recommend you to stay overnight, just visit during the day would be enough."

Monemvasia Castle, Monemvasia, Peloponnese, Greece
"Forget all of your preconceptions of hotel rooms. This was a unique experience. Our room was in a Fifteenth Century (i.e., "new", for Monemvasia) building looking out over the town, to the east and toward the sunrise. The room was totally clean and, especially for the location, large. I think my couple of photos that I'm including give a good sense. There was a coffee maker. We loved the balcony. The two sisters who ran the reception were very welcoming and helpful, with plenty of suggestions as to the best ways to see Monemvasia. The room was in a building separate from the reception room. and we received some much appreciated help with our luggage and in even finding the room. Pay careful attention to the turns, or leave a trail of bread crumbs. You either park in the lot down off the causeway or you cruise up along the entrance drive a few times to try to find a spot to slip your car into. On our third try cruising the drive, we were lucky enough to find a spot up near the entrance to the town. I suppose the shuttle from the parking area would have worked also."
"The hotel is situated right in the heart of Monemvasia. We had a great sea view from our balcony and the room was big and very clean. Breakfast was served in a cafe 2-3 minutes' walk from our room, right in Monemvasia's central square and it was fresh and had a variety of dishes (fresh fruit, omelette, bread, honey, jam, slices of greek pies, orange juice and coffee). The only thing is that we could hear the musique coming from the bar right next to our room until 1-2 at night, which is a bit annoying if you want to sleep kind of early (we had our windows open since it was not that hot yet). Otherwise, everything was fantastic and we'd definitely stay at Byzantino Boutique Hotel again!"
"Great get a good vibe of the area staying in this hotel, they are basically old houses/rooms that they converted for guest to stay in. Most of the rooms are on the smaller side but still enough for what you will be doing here. Traditional design of the inside and outside. Couple of steps to get into the houses. Pretty good views. The breakfast that came with the hotel was pretty good, wide spread of things to eat and enjoy, good views from the cafe as well"

Kastro Monemvasias, Monemvasia, Peloponnese, Greece
"Our two night stay was perfect . We stayed in room #2, with amazing views out our four windows. The room was spacious, spotless and comfortable with a few bottles of water for us in the refrigerator. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, filled with delicious items that would please any traveler. One of our favorite things is the patio, providing an amazing view of the sea. It was such a pleasure to relax there at the cafe tables after our arrival , enjoying a cool drink and soaking up the late afternoon sun. We had a wonderful stay, the entire staff friendly and helpful at all times. Because the hotel is at the far end of the castle, it is pleasantly quiet in the evening. The signs directing us to the hotel were clearly marked, so once you get to the Square, keep walking! "
"There might be more luxurious options to stay in Monemvasia but this wonderful place offers everything you need to enjoy a wonderful stay in this enchanting medieval fortress. It is located at the end of the medieval town, near the huge fortification, so you stay a bit away from the many tourists strolling through the streets during the day. The best time to enjoy Monemvasia is anyway when daytourists have gone, that is why you should absolutely stay overnight. The place is tastefully restored, the cosy room had a beautiful chimney and seaview. A small cafe in the hotel with outdoor seating and splendid views. Excellent value, highly recommended!"
"The room had a great, open view to the sea. The people were very polite and helpful. The room and the hotel were clean. The breakfast was full and delicious. I totally recommend the hotel. The Café Malvasia (café of the hotel) has a wide menu and the view is also majestic! "

"Stayed two nights here. Walking distance to everything including the island fortress although we chose to use the shuttle bus available at the causeway. The room was clean and well appointed -- even had electric jug and tea and coffee making [very important inclusion for us!!]. We had a balcony and views of the 'rock'. Clean and safe swimming directly across the road with beach showers. Breakfast was well provisioned and we were able to find something to eat each morning. There are some great restaurants along the waterfront around near the harbour and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the water to enjoy a drink before venturing out. Parking is on the street but no problem. The lady at reception [sorry can't remember her name] was very helpful and they reset the wifi promptly when we reported that it was not working. We really enjoyed our stay here and are happy to recommend."
"A wonderful family run hotel where you are made to feel really welcome. The location is on the mainland but it's ideally positioned on the seafront and almost next to the causeway over to old Monemvasia (a short walk will take you there). Very comfortable rooms, beautifully clean, and a great breakfast to start the day. We stayed a week and loved it."
"Such value for money. Such hospitality. Nothing is too much for the owner to help you with. We pitched up at her door at 10.00 am - by 12.45pm she had the balcony ground floor room Ready.... You can what life go by here! We kept popping to the beach across for a dip!"

Main Street, Gefira, Peloponnese, Greece
"We stayed here one night in September 2019. The hotel is a modern building in Gefira, the ‘mainland’ area next to the rock of Monemvasia. It is situated up a short incline at the top of the village, so it has a great view of Monemvasia rock from the rooms at the front of the building. We booked a ‘suite’ so we could have a view. The room was reasonably large and may suit a family. The bathroom was reasonably up to date, but the rest of the room and fixtures were a bit dated and the room a bit dark. That said, it was quiet, the bed was comfortable and there were tea and coffee making facilities and decent wifi so reasonable. There was a tour group staying (the hotel is part of the Rick Steves tour) so it was very quiet when they were not there, and even when they were - the hotel was quiet! Breakfast is the usual buffet, reasonable if nothing exceptional. The big advantage (apart from the view) is that it is about 15 mins walk to the bridge (where a shuttle bus operates) or 30 mins or so to the old town of Monemvasia itself. So you can park your car easily and not have the hassle which you would have if staying in Monemvasia old town itself. Parking near the old town is not easy. Staying in the old town itself is a hassle, as you cannot park nearby and so must take some of your luggage with you to the hotel, over uneven cobbled streets to a historic but probably dark and expensive hotel. We personally did not think it would have been worth the hassle and were pleased we stayed in Gethira on the mainland. We ate at Scorpios fish restaurant at the harbour in Gefira which was good and not expensive, and easier than getting into the old town of Monemvasia itself. Monemvasia itself is not as commercialised as we expected - essentially one short street of shops and restaurants, and other streets with a few small hotels, but it is not at all like some other famous and much busier walled cities such as Carcassonnne or Rocamadour in France. We were pleasantly surprised, but there is no need to have more than a day there in our view. So overall a decent, reasonable value hotel that is very convenient for a short stay to see Monemvasia"
"I traveled solo and arrived at the hotel without any reservation after a tiring drive. I asked for a room with ocean view. I was advised that only large rooms designed for 3 or more people were available. I was shown room #201 with a fantastic view of the ocean and the Monemvasia rock. I took the room when the receptionist offered it at a considerable discount. It is a large, fully equipped room with a good bed, quiet air conditioner, large bathroom and a balcony with the great view. The receptionist gave me a list and detailed descriptions of six different restaurants with different attributes. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. The hotel also has a free parking lot and it is within easy walking distance of several restaurants."
"Since we last stayed here about 10 years ago, the rooms and public areas have been refurbished and the result is an excellent hotel. Mr Angeles the manager/owner is always around to personally look after the guests. The evening receptionist, Kryssia, was a delight in checking us in and looking after us. We loved our stay and heartily recommend it. Book directly for best rates."

Palia Monemvasia, Monemvasia, Peloponnese, Greece
"We returned to the Annema after a 3 year break, due to us holidaying not in Greece. It is still a great place: super location, superb views across the bay to Monemvasia, beautiful swimming, Nikos, Adonis and their parents are very welcoming, the food is delicous and still about the best in the area, there is a good wine selection and the rooms/bathrooms are simple but spotless, all you want for a Peloponnesian warm weather stay. We met lots of returning guests. A French couple wrote in the guest book "Un petit coin de paradis". We agree and would recommend unhesitatingly. To have a drink or meal on the terrace after a swim is an incomparable experience."
"We stayed for five nights at this wonderful and tranquil location. The hotel veranda overlooking the bay boasts a great view of Monvemvasia and the sea is ideal for swimming. Owners were very friendly and polite and always willing to give us good advice on places to visit in the area. The service was good and the hotel was immaculately clean. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone who is seeking a quiet and beautiful location and who wants to enjoy a truly authentic holiday break in this beautiful part of Greece!"
"Everything was wonderful: the idyllic location, the welcoming and professional staff, the fantastic facilities (pool with seawater that looks upon the sea and a beautiful private beach with a dock to jump off) and the food! Reasonable prices for the brilliant quality of the food (the breakfast was also worth it). My family and I had such a great time and we truly cannot wait to come back. "

"My wife and I stayed here for a week. It was a very nice hotel, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a very short walk to the town and to the beach. The room was large, very clean with a decent sized balcony and good views. Breakfast was very nice. The only downsides were: the air-conditioning was not working/switched on in the breakfast room on some days so it could get a little warm; the shower fitting was in a poor state of repair in our room and clearly needs to be replaced/fixed. However these were minor issues and did not detract from the experience."
"A very good choice, really neat and clean. Rooms with enough space and equipment for everything I wanted so I would say it was exactly what I needed. Beautiful breakfast and more than enough. The staff was really kind and helped me a lot with their information for my tour. Not to forget that they were really typical with what concerns the Covid 19 restrictions which is important now days. Thank you guys definitely giving a 10."
"We had 3 rooms and spent 2 nights there It is a walking distance to the Rock walkway and near many local restaurants by the marina The rooms are a bit dated but very clean There is a 4-5 parking spots in front of the property The staff was extremely nice and helpful It is not fancy by any means but it’s right where one needs to be and is a practical choice I would definitely recommend this property Enjoy "
