The stay at the Hotel City Lörrach was overall OK. The rooms are quite new and the sauna area is very beautiful. However, the theme service is not just big in this hotel. Our rooms were partly cleaned only once during the four-day stay. When we advertised this, we received the answer from the Housekeeping “I had a holiday...” The federal police stationed in the hotel did not disturb us, but it was also necessary to take care of, that food is filled with breakfast buffet... Also on our demand, it was called “panny cakes and croissants are no longer available” and it was already 8:30. We enjoyed our six-night stay. The room was large in a separate building. The furniture a bit dated and the bathroom very small. The bed was comfortable. The TV had no English stations. It was kind of nice because we did not watch the news for a week which was a nice break. The WI-FI was weak, but the manager provided us with a separate server for the room which made it perfect. The common areas of the hotel are very stylish with a nice mix of old and modern. The dining room is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious! We ate dinner one night. Some dishes delicious and superbe. Some so-so! (My husband disagrees. He thought all was excellent and he made sure I put this in the review.) The location to Basel is OK. There is an outdoor pool and I loved it and the garden. But a bit chilly in May.
