"I stayed 1 night at this hotel on Jan 3. My late feedback is caused by being on a world cruise returning back home just now. I regard myself as a seasoned traveler with good experiences in hotel accommodations. This place is claimed to be 4-star hotel. In my book probably between 2-3. I booked the place through Agoda and paid by card beforehand. I have serious problems understanding how the Mercure chain is willing to compromise its brand name by letting this place franchising at all. I appreciate my arrival in low season, but if they decide to stay open, they should keep some standards. My room had the air conditioning turned off – ie no heating. The door to the balcony could not close properly. People from outside could easily get access. The bathroom was tired and old fashioned with a strange electrical switch arrangement. Everything in the room told me of a seriously long period of neglect and lack of maintenance. It was a surreal experience – the room had a room safe. The key was attached to the room key!!! So if I by accident lost my room key, not only could people enter my room, they could open the room safe as well! To me, it says it all! On top of it all, the room was mosquito-infested – something I experienced the following morning. Bites all over my upper body! I tested the bar – they did not have local beers – just Heineken. There are no places to drink or eat in the neighborhood (!), so you are more or less stuck at the hotel. I therefore settled for dinner at the hotel. Half of the dishes on the menu were not available, and none of the wines! The waiter recommended a wine not on the list and he returned with an open bottle with a red-wine stained label. Clearly a bottle of wine filled from a carton in the kitchen. Disastrous.....and expensive – 48 euros for a main course and 'wine'. Check-out was an extremely unpleasant experience as well. As mentioned, I had already paid for the room. This did not prevent the desk-clerk to try to charge me twice! Anything at all being of some level of satisfaction? Yes, the breakfast – 5 euro – was totally acceptable. Overall conclusion. Do not stay there – at least not in the winter season. This is NOT a 4 star – and consequently highly overpriced."
"Situated a short taxi ride from the Civvechia cruise terminal this clean but basic accommodation has not much more than that going for it. Francesco the man on reception was surly and unhelpful and the internet could not even refresh my inbox let alone load a page from the internet. The service in the Resteraunt was poor and , slow and my veal was gristly and undercooked. I had to ask three times for the potatoes that where meant to accompany my meal. The pasta was very good but slightly over salted . The room is basic and cold and there was only one available PowerPoint to charge devices. The meal experience was further soured by additional menu items that we did not order so I advise carefully checking your bill before leaving the restaurant rather than charging to the room and paying at checkout. The curtain and block out curtain in the bedroom where slightly too short making for an unnecessarily early morning wake up as the sunlight began to shine in Whilst the cleanliness of the hotel was ok overall it was a pretty disappointing experience . The breakfast was great and included coffee juice and ample choices "
"We stayed here overnight between two cruises. We arrived about 9.30 am and did not expect our room to ready until the afternoon, so were pleasantly surprised to find that after we had a coffee our room was ready. Our room was a good size with everything we needed and a balcony with a sea view. The hotel has the atmosphere of an Italian country house. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety of food. The staff were pleasant and helpful."

"This was my second stay , this time for one month .as previously noted the property is sparkling clean and very well managed. There are struggling a bit with the corona virus precautions which increases their work load but are doing as well as anyone and much better than most. The staff haven’t changed and are perennially friendly and professional especially Stephano and Laura on reception Lorenzo at the pool bit without a doubt the “stars of the show ‘are Ricardo and Valentina the manager and the owner who never stop going the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. My room was large and adequately furnished with a comfortable bed ,the bathroom was well presented with a rain shower and excellent water pressure. The general facilities are very suitable for families with children, additionally there is on some weekends musical evenings which everyone seemed to enjoy .in short a good value well run family hotel."
"We booked in for just 1 night on our way from Rome to Tuscany. I wanted to break the drive and so found this place right on the coast near Tarquinia (which was about 1 hr from Rome Fiumicino airport). The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is comfortable and modern looking with adequate accommodations. The hotel has a great pool and nice outdoor seating area. The night we stayed there was some live music which was really nice and not over-loud. The best thing about the hotel is the restaurant, which is truly superb. We had fresh pasta and seafood and it was very lovely. We sat on the outside balcony, overlooking the ocean and had the most wonderful and relaxing start to our Italian holiday."
"Had a weekend stay with friends and I must say it was probably the best hotel around the area of Tarquinia. Great food, friendly staff and a chill out pool and only 10 minutes away from the gorgeous center. Oh don’t forget to visit NONNO FREDY’s restaurant! The food is insane."

"This is the third time we have stayed at Villa Tirreno - we greatly enjoy the hotel, their restaurant and their overall service. We never have a car. Our focus is to visit the town and it's environs. We use the hotel shuttle or the town bus, which stops outside their door. The hotel also offers airport and cruise port transportation. All of their transportation services are at a very reasonable fee. (This time we ventured further afield and for that purpose, we used a private tour company that they suggested: MyLoveItaly. The tour company is reviewed separately; it was wonderful). We look forward to eating in the Villa Tirreno restaurant. The food is delicious - and so is their wine selection. There is a choice to either eat in the dining room or in the enclosed patio area that overlooks the pool. Our hotel room was very large and pristine. From the (very large) balcony, you could see the ancient city wall and it's towers. Very lovely place - we will return many more times."
"We had visited Rome several times before but were picking up a cruise from civitavecchia in July. This hotel was a perfect solution They offer reasonable value transfers from the airport and to the port. The hotel and rooms are very clean. We had a family room which comfortably accommodated a grown up family of 4. The room was comfortable and air con was good. The pool is lovely but you can also walk up the hill to the town to visit local museums and restaurants. We had dinner in the main hotel restaurant and it was wonderful and great value. The staff were very friendly and polite. It was a great way to start our holiday without the need to travel into Rome.."
"Attended a wedding nearby so booked 4 nights at Hotel Villa Tirreno. The hotel arranged airport transfers which worked very well, with a polite and charming driver. The hotel was ideally located and was modern, clean and tidy. All the staff were very efficient, friendly and polite."

"We were blown away by the size of our balcony and the charm of this hotel. The wonderful hosts Camere and Bilocali organised a cab (Silvio who picked us up right outside the cruise ship terminal at the exact time we requested) and couldn’t do enough for us when we arrived much earlier than check in time, offering us breakfast on the house while we waited at a sunny table opposite the sea. Flavio encoured us to try the on site restaurant for lunch and the seafood was absolutely delicious! We would recommend this hotel to anyone and advise that you book the room with the Seaview balcony. Awesome!"

"We had 1 night here pre cruise. We flew from Australia and had arranged a transfer for 50 Euro each with the hotel as we arrived at 6.30am and other transfer companies only started at 10am. It was great because they also took us straight to the hotel (which is a little out of the town centre). Our room wasnt quite ready (which we expected), but we were allowed to use the breakfast room while we waited for other guests to leave on their cruise. This is a family run hotel and they were most helpful in trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We were in our room by 11am which was awesome, so we could have a quick shower before walking into town to look around and grab some lunch. We had dinner and drinks at the hotel that evening which was great and we could have an early night before our cruise next day. The drinks and food were very reasonably priced as well. Rooms arent large but clean and neat. It was only a double bed but comfy. All we really needed for 1 night and it was great to have breakfast and a shuttle to the cruise ship included. The shuttle took us straight to the ship, not just the start of the port which helped save a lot of confusion at the beginning of your holiday. There was free wifi as well. This hotel is very well geared for pre and post cruise accommodation and I highly recommend them."
"We booked this hotel and airport transfer together to stay the night before our cruise. Everything was fantastic. They were on time picking us up and the guy was very friendly. We arrived to be given a lovely room for the 3 of us to stay the night. Everything was clean and well maintained. Bathroom was large and well presented. We then used the free transport to the cruise port. Overall a fantastic stay. "
"Excellent family hotel. Super clean, very good food and ambiance. Alessandro the owner is extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Shuttle from the airport and to the port. Budget friendly. We were happy selecting this hotel and would recommend it. Quiet and safe neighborhood, not too far from attractions but walkable. Thanks for making enjoyable our 2 nights stay. Georgina and Luis"
