We pre booked a ‘pay at hotel’ stay way back just out of previous UK lockdown and glad we did as prices have increased dramatically. This was our 5th visit to RGV, previous stay was way back in 2018. Full credit must go to the team at RGV and to Fiona especially as she works relentlessly in the background to ensure that the hotel continues to operate at a continuous high standard. The small touches such as a cake for my wife’s birthday and a polite request in the restaurant El Jardín was honoured with no fuss whatsoever. We stayed with our friends in a majestic villa which was really lovely, outstandingly comfortable and luxuriously appointed. Tip: if you want to chase the sun here, then choose villas that are to the left hand side of reception as they curve around with the road, so we got sun to about 330pm in the afternoon. Villa Joanna (2 bed) or Villa Rubi (1 bed) would easily get sun until 6pm in winter months. There was some building work next to the hotel, Fiona and the team were very conscious of this and were ensuring everyone was not disappointed about this. To be honest, it didn’t really bother us at all. We arranged a visit to Royal River to have a look around as it is part of the same group. Although we didn’t eat there, this could be arranged through reception at RGV. We were also allowed to go and use the facilities such as the pool and the sun deck areas, which meant that we could have the afternoon sun for a little longer due to the slightly different aspect of Royal River. We had a very relaxing stay and the revised covid measures that were introduced during our stay were no trouble as the extremely helpful colleagues here at RGV meant that it caused us no stress whatsoever. Though no fault of the hotel whatsoever, it does sit up the hillside which means that clouds sometimes hang around for longer periods, whereas further down near the sea, it was often sunny for longer periods. This coupled with the fact that Tenerife prices have increased dramatically, I am not convinced that we would return as the Caribbean now is becoming more of a favourable competitive destination. RGV still hits the spot though and if you are considering booking then book directly with the hotel as they may be more competitive on price

My husband suggested I come away for a few days to relax on my own, no kids. This is DEFINITELY somewhere that you can’t help but do exactly that. The warmest welcome. DELICIOUS food and drinks. The mostly happy lovely staff. The villa was just exquisite with its own warm pool, pristinely clean. I’m currently on check out day and literally couldn’t be made to feel anymore at home, swimming in the infinity pool that has a marvellous view of the mountains, booked into the VIP room for showers on departure. Very Covid secure. This is a special place and I really do hope to be back soon. PS. I hardly ever leave reviews, but it really is that nice.

We’ve just returned from seven days of heaven, what an amazing holiday we all had. My husband and I took our adult kids with us, aged 22, 19 and 18. Each one of us said it was the nicest hotel, most accommodating staff and fantastic food that we’ve had in an all inclusive hotel. When we checked in we were given a glass of champagne to welcome us, taken to our rooms, showed how all the gadgets in the room worked and felt very welcomed! We did all three al a carte restaurants and each one was fantastic, you really did feel that you were in a proper restaurant. But the food in the Central Market was lovely too! We were in a swim up room, which is sunny all morning but then goes into the shade. But it was welcomed as the sun can be deceivingly intense. Comfiest sun beds ever! Finally thank you to all the staff. They were all so friendly, professional and as I say just smile! Best smiles and teeth ever! Best holiday I’ve had in a long time - thank you to everyone there.

We went as a family of 10 for my husband's 70th birthday 🎉🎂 would like to thank all the staff in the central market who went above and beyond to make it a special night especially Ainhoa. Also a big thank you to the girls in guest relations for organising a cake and balloons. The food was exceptional wherever we ate in the buffet the snack bar and strombolis. Also fab coffee and cake in mike's coffee shop. Our youngest aged 8 had a ball in the pools especially enjoying the slides. So a big thank you to you all and hopefully will see you again. Xx

This is an absolutely outstanding hotel with impeccable staff. If you are looking for peace, tranquility and stunning surroundings then this is the perfect hotel for you. Our room was the royal river room I believe it's the basic room, but when we walked in we felt like we'd arrived at a Maldivian island (we've visited there twice). The room was very large with a separate sitting room, double closing doors to the bedroom and then a double sink bathroom with a beautiful bath and rainfall shower. Outside there was a smallish pool similar to what you'd get in an over water villa in the Maldives, a gorgeous double bed, egg chair and corner sofa which we used in the evening for drinks. From our pool you could swim out to the river and take some amazing photos of the tree canopy covered river. They offer theme food nights we did the Asian and French nights both of which were incredible. But it is only a 5 min taxi ride to caleta where there are many other restaurants too. My husband had a small issue with hotel laundry with an expensive shirt however duty manager Daniella was incredibly professional, concerned and helpful she recompensed us for the cost of the shirt. And aside that in all our dealings with her she is clearly a real asset to this hotel. The only very slight comment is about the bathroom soap/shampoo dispensers they seem a bit cheap which was a complete surprise given that EVERY fitting in this hotel is clearly very expensive. It wasn't a problem just an observation. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay and we will most certainly be back.

Our stay was simply faultless, so this will be a short review, but we had an excellent week stay at the hotel. The villa was spacious, well-equipped and luxurious (especially in the outdoor area), the restaurants had impeccable food and service, the grounds were stunning and well-maintained and the views and pools particularly picturesque and tranquil. Most of all, I feel it’s most important to thank the incredible staff who made our stay so faultless - there was a consistent warmth to every member and they went above and beyond to ensure that we were well-looked after and waited on at all times. Not something you see everywhere even at the best 5-star hotels, so duly appreciated, and made our stay truly special. If there is one thing we could say that we feel would have slightly improved our stay, it would be if there were some transfer services available within the hotel and La Caleta / Costa Adeje as opposed to taxis (occasionally, taxi services were unreliable). However, this is a very small thing and by and large did not affect the general view of the hotel. Thank you for everything, we will definitely be back.

Very high quality and comfortable hotel with excellent staff and amenities. Large and comfortable room with huge bed. Superb breakfast. Excellent swimming pools and sun loungers. This is a top class hotel located in a civilised part of Tenerife. Adults only element is good news. Good bus links. Easy walk into La Caleta, which has plenty of nice though slightly costly restaurants. Bars at hotel were probably overpriced but it is an expensive hotel so not unexpected. All in all a most enjoyable stay.

The hotel is very large and beautiful, the room is very clean and tidy, the sea view on the balcony is very good, the infinity pool is also very beautiful for taking pictures! Service attitude is very good! Very close to the city centre and the airport, about 30 euros for 30 minutes by taxi. There is a small black sand beach for 2 minutes walking around, and there are many restaurants nearby!
