"The environment is good, at first glance, there is the feeling of Downton Manor. The attitude of the younger brother at the front desk is good, there is no elevator, and the big box is a little hard. Booked the cheapest standard room, outdated facilities, sanitation. The restaurant environment is ok, the taste is very general, and there are fewer people eating dinner. Breakfast is a traditional English breakfast, waiting for a long time, feeling forgotten, the restaurant is a young waitress serving poorly. Breakfast tableware is not clean. Surrounded by golf courses, the environment is good, some residents around the leisure play, it is estimated that the consumption is not high."

"Booked a family room, very spacious, with a double bed and a single bed. Facing the sea, the landscape is good, there are not many tourists, suitable for leisure and holiday. Seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant is great value."
"Breakfast is average, it is a standard English breakfast. If the single point is not expensive, about 10 pounds. Hotel location is good, very close to Dover Castle. There are also ferries that can go directly to France."
"Breakfast didn't eat, but the room environment was good. You can see the sea. We set the bed. The only bad thing is that the bed in the big bed is made up of two double beds. It is very uncomfortable."

"We stayed here for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we chose the dinner B & B package with a complimentary drink on arrival for a cost of £329 for the bridal suite. The room was absolutely beautiful, with the most sumptuous bed and pillows it was decorated beautifully and had everything that one needed for an overnight stay apart from a safe. There is a huge variety of drinks available and a nice selection of wines, although I feel it would have been nice to include some local wines as well, we have enough vineyards in Kent now. The menu was delicious and food great. The package although inclusive, does have various limits to what is included so it might be worth checking what this is to avoid any surprises on check out. We really enjoyed our stay and we didn't want to go far so it was the perfect place to choose, however, for the money (almost £500 by the time you add drinks, wine and extras) it lacks the finer things that could set it apart from many other places. I am not overly fussy, but if I am paying top prices for a stay, I expect a top class service. I am being extremely picky here and it didn't put us off however, as we have been lucky enough to stay at some beautiful first class places in our life we would obviously make comparisons. Would I go back yes - would I recommend it yes."
"Great restful night away which was a birthday present for my husband. Service was excellent without being intrusive. Food was fantastic - we only managed the Sunday roast and a pudding and then fell into a food coma. Room was spacious and luxurious. My husband has no complaints - he slept for 11 hours solid and that’s only because I woke him up. Staff were friendly and accommodating as we needed to leave by 8am. Thank you for allowing us to pre-order and for the kitchen preparing our breakfast early. Overall a fantastic stay and we most certainly will come back."
"The hotel was recommended by a friend. We didn't want to travel far, but also wanted to visit Canterbury. The family room at the hotel was very comfortable and in fact 2 separate bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom. Dinner was a highlight and also a lovely breakfast.Service was excellent. A short trip to Whitstable to buy some oysters completed our short and enjoyable trip to Kent."

"Loved our two night stay. Our room Signature room was very large and comfortable, everything was good. We had an amazing view and bed very comfortable. Everything we needed many little extras too. All the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All areas were immaculate. Free live music duo on the Friday night after our dinner who were great fun and very good. Location in elevated position with lovely views out to sea. Short walk into town and clifftop coastal path with zigzag access to the beach and lower coastal walk."
"Stayed here as we have friends who have retired to the area but don't have room to put us up. Very comfy hotel and the signature room was huge with separate lounge area and bathroom with both shower and rolltop bath. Staff superb and had a very tasty tapas in the bar lunchtime on arrival. Didn't have breakfast as we had outside arrangments. Would stay again."
"Our second stay at this lovely quite hotel, exceptionally clean with nice fluffy white towels and nice toiletries. The staff on reception very helpful and friendly and offered to bring to our room extra water and fresh milk. We overlooked the side garden to a lovely wakening of the waves and gulls. The room a nice temperature with airy windows that open. It’s about a 10 minute seafront walk to the main town. We will be back again defiantly. "

"Stayed 1 night in standard double room. Dual aspect 2nd floor. Wonky floors are original and quirky.Bathroom, to be honest, was a bit shabby and needed some mastic on skirtings and the shower mainly poured on to the floor causing the skirtings to split. I appreciate it’s an old building but it wouldn’t cost much to sort out. Looked like it had new carpet and new linen curtains which were nice, too. Also looked like it had been repainted. Coffee machine was good. WiFi should be sorted. I don’t want to open an account giving loads of details, I just want to access WiFi: most hotels give you a password to log on, that’s what I want.In the end I used my 4G. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. For breakfast (we had to book a time) which was fine and was very Covid safe. Breakfast itself was fantastic. Hot and tasty. Staff went above and beyond. Would definitely stay again."
"We were here using Shepherd Neame winter offer, when we arrived we were upgraded to a superior room which was was lovely, large, clean, fabulous views. After a brisk seafront walk, went down for dinner, really good, our only complaint was the size (huge) but we did our best! The bed was extremely comfortable and it was a joy to wake up to the sea view. Breakfast was very nice and so much choice. My final comment would be that the staff were charming, helpful and a credit to Shepherd Neame. We will absolutely be returning as soon as possible."
"Just visited Deal for the first time as a family of 6 - 2 adults and 4 children and stopped by for a Sunday Lunch. The service was appalling! To start we were told we couldn’t order kids roast dinner or swap new potatoes for extra roast potatoes. This was then corrected and we were told by another waitress they did do kids roasts (although no price was given for the kids portion) we wrongly assumed it was be the same price as a kids meal advertised however it was considerably more. When we asked if we could have a Yorkshire puddings with a roast pork we were told it would be a charge of £1.50 which is ridiculous on a £14 roast dinner! The food overall was nice however the potions were all small at £15 for beef and £14 for pork and £7.95 for a tiny kids portion. The staff were cold, they didn’t understand their own menu and we were never asked if our meal was ok or if we wanted any sauces. Service goes a long way and we could have forgiven the portion sizes had we felt more welcomed and been given a little but more attention. Over all hugely disappointed and expected more for a nearly £90 Sunday dinner!! "

"We've just returned from a mid week break which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our room at the top (no lift and arthritic knees so we had to plan our trips upstairs well ahead!) was spacious, clean and very well appointed. There was a charming view of ancient roof tops and the most comfortable bed ever! The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful and we loved the readily available flasks of fresh milk to take up to the room. Breakfast was delicious and the only gripe we would have was the noise from next door (we were in room 41) - the TV is attached to the adjoining wall and we could hear every word, especially at 6.00 am! Sandwich is delightful and we had such a lovely time - even when it rained non stop one day we were able to sit by the fire and read. Lovely!"
"Stayed for Valentine’s night on a special deal that included 3 course meal and breakfast. Had a drink in the bar, followed by lovely food. The room was fine, quite small but clean and fresh. The breakfast was fab too. There were a lot of tankers moving all night but that was due to sewage pipe issues a mile away and was no fault of the hotel. This also meant many of the spaces in the pay and display car park were taken up with the tankers. Looking forward to next year....."
"Had drinks and bar food here today with our dog. We ate in the bar, but there is also a more formal restaurant. Very friendly staff, courteous service. Freshly made sandwiches on sourdough bread, eggs, ham and chips served very hot and fresh. Bowls of water for the dog outside. Very nice traditional atmosphere, relaxed. Decor is seaside theme, and a nice view across the Quay. A mixture of dog owners with their pets, and young couples with babies."

"Stayed here last night. We rang them prior to our stay to see if we could check in early as we were attending a wedding nearby. No problem, and we were warmly welcomed by the landlady's lovely daughter on arrival. Our double en-suite room was clean, had tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries, TV and everything else we needed. We met the landlady, Mary when we came back in the evening who was also very friendly. In the morning we met two more members of staff who served us a great breakfast. All the staff here are lovely, welcoming and obliging. Would definitely recommend staying here."
"I had arranged a Birthday Buffet for my husbands birthday - I discussed food, drink and Mary gave me helpful advice....the result was amazing food, good price and great ambience you couldnt want more; staff friendly and helpful; I really couldnt have asked or wanted more. Highly recommended"
"We popped into this pub by chance, and so glad we did. Staff very friendly , food was nice , had an outside courtyard and a hidden gem was an outhouse that had pool table, darts boards, giant connect 4 and duke box and had the place to ourselves all evening in there ."
