"Stayed 1 night in standard double room. Dual aspect 2nd floor. Wonky floors are original and quirky.Bathroom, to be honest, was a bit shabby and needed some mastic on skirtings and the shower mainly poured on to the floor causing the skirtings to split. I appreciate it’s an old building but it wouldn’t cost much to sort out. Looked like it had new carpet and new linen curtains which were nice, too. Also looked like it had been repainted. Coffee machine was good. WiFi should be sorted. I don’t want to open an account giving loads of details, I just want to access WiFi: most hotels give you a password to log on, that’s what I want.In the end I used my 4G. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. For breakfast (we had to book a time) which was fine and was very Covid safe. Breakfast itself was fantastic. Hot and tasty. Staff went above and beyond. Would definitely stay again."
"We were here using Shepherd Neame winter offer, when we arrived we were upgraded to a superior room which was was lovely, large, clean, fabulous views. After a brisk seafront walk, went down for dinner, really good, our only complaint was the size (huge) but we did our best! The bed was extremely comfortable and it was a joy to wake up to the sea view. Breakfast was very nice and so much choice. My final comment would be that the staff were charming, helpful and a credit to Shepherd Neame. We will absolutely be returning as soon as possible."
"Just visited Deal for the first time as a family of 6 - 2 adults and 4 children and stopped by for a Sunday Lunch. The service was appalling! To start we were told we couldn’t order kids roast dinner or swap new potatoes for extra roast potatoes. This was then corrected and we were told by another waitress they did do kids roasts (although no price was given for the kids portion) we wrongly assumed it was be the same price as a kids meal advertised however it was considerably more. When we asked if we could have a Yorkshire puddings with a roast pork we were told it would be a charge of £1.50 which is ridiculous on a £14 roast dinner! The food overall was nice however the potions were all small at £15 for beef and £14 for pork and £7.95 for a tiny kids portion. The staff were cold, they didn’t understand their own menu and we were never asked if our meal was ok or if we wanted any sauces. Service goes a long way and we could have forgiven the portion sizes had we felt more welcomed and been given a little but more attention. Over all hugely disappointed and expected more for a nearly £90 Sunday dinner!! "
