"My girlfriend and I spent one night at Hotel Heritage in the centre of Bruges. Every single detail was just perfect. The welcome was nice, our room was fabulous, and the friendliness of the staff was exceptional. In addition, restaurant Le Mystique at the ground floor of the hotel is an additional trump of the hotel. The food and service were Michelin-star quality and the price was in our opinion absolutely fair. We definitely come back! PS: We loved the old-fashioned but very nice telephones in the room"
"It is said that a person's true character is revealed in difficult times. This was true for the Hotel Heritage. In November, I made a reservation with the Hotel Heritage and prepaid for my room. The team at the Hotel Heritage promptly responded to all of my inquiries and assisted with the details of my reservation. Then, earlier this week, I received an email from the hotel indicating that they could not honor my reservation because of the coronavirus. And, due to the financial hardship resulting from the virus, they have chosen not to refund my deposit. Instead, they offered a credit to be used within the next 12 months. I informed them that due to other commitments, I will not be able to travel to Bruges anytime in the near future. Their response was to keep my deposit. So, it is clear that in hard times, the Hotel Heritage's profits take priority over their customers. I expected more from a Relais and Chateax member. All of the other smaller hotels that I had planned to stay at have refunded my deposit and even waived any administrative fees (without being asked). When travel does eventually become possible again, I recommend that you find a different hotel - one that does right by its customers in both good times and difficult times."
"This hotel is absolutely wonderful. Fabulous staff, rooms and restaurant. We visited with 2 kids got 2 rooms next door. Had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. During difficult COVID times I felt very safe how the staff handled all precautionary measures. Would recommend this hotel if you stay in Bruges. "

"We stayed at La Reserve last weekend and were impressed with the facilities. Check in was quick and Parking was convenient, although no porter to help with luggage. Our room was on the 5th floor (513) - soundproofing was good so we had a good sleep. Bathroom a bit small but good shower, the sink had a large domed tap which came very low into the small sink (good for not splashing) but you couldn't turn it so anything that you needed water for had to go underneath the spout and my husband broke a glass trying to get water for his tablets. Also the taps were round domes so when you had soap on your hands you couldn't turn the taps on or off without using a towel to help turn them. The loo was separate, just to the left of the entrance door with a glass door that opened outwards and blocked the entrance door. Otherwise bed was very comfortable and linen spotless. We had breakfast in the restaurant as the morning air was a bit chilly to sit outside (although other people did sit outside). There was a good choice of cold cuts of meat, cheese and fruit and a separate station for hot cooked breakfast, usual, eggs, toms, bacon, etc. Waiting staff were quick to clear used plates from the table, so very clean. Only downside of our stay when we returned from dinner in the town on Sunday night at about 23.30 and wanted a bottle of champagne to celebrate, we were told that the bar was closed. There was a separate lounge, which I assumed was the resident's lounge where two people were sitting having drinks but when I queried this with the receptionist I was told that they were "finishing" their drinks, so we went to bed without a nightcap."
"We recently stayed at La Reserve as a party of 23 for a 2 day business meeting. From the very start, Valerie and the events team were extremely helpful, pleasant and accomodating. Everything from the welcome dinner to the end of the meeting ran like clockwork. The food and meeting room was extremely well catered for. My only suggestion would be to have some concealed plug points within the floor as having a caberet style set up with lots of cables trailing around was a little tricky, but only a minor thing. The guest bedrooms were extremely clean, nicely furnished, with very comfortable beds. All the attendees commented on how nice the hotel was. The bar area was very comfortable and stylish and was a great place to gather as a group after dinner for a drink and a chat. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this as a business or indeed leisure venue. I would very much love to return, but perhaps in the summer months as much of the town was closed in October as would be expected for a seasonal seaside resort."
"Last time I wrote a review, it was 2013. Nothing has changed, it is still extremely good on all sides. And the only confusing point, the lighting system, is still there, as if nobody has found a solution. Imagine that you switch of the lights of your room (not the general switch, just all individual lights). Well you are there for a suprise, because of the 8 to 10 wall outlets, all but one or 2 will still function. So if you connected your celular phones or computers to the wrong ones, you are there for a surprise in the morning, as nothign will have charged during the night. Maybe an information delivered in each room may point out to the wall outlet still working during the night, or a big orange arrow on the one(s) who will not die when the room lights are switched off? But the hotel does not seem to care, as nothing has changed since 2013. It is a unique hotel, including it is the only hotel I know with this kind of problems and this lack of preocupation to inform the guests..... And of course I will come back next year....."

Nieuwe Gentweg 78, Bruges, West-Flanders, Belgium
"We were exhausted from the long haul from the US to Brussels to Brugge. We came back to the restaurant but it was closed. Decided a beer and chips would do. A gentleman named Jo offered to order us a pizza. Since I am from the Bronx I doubted pizza would compare so we passed> Before we knew it we had a delightful plate in front of us. Only afterward we learned he is the owner. So it would be hard to give less than 5 stars. Great location. Breakfast is the best I have ever had. I spilled chocolate on my shirt-oh well. There is a blend of old-world charm and modern chic. Great combo. I also heard about updates that are planned. If you are visiting Brugges this is where you should stay. Simon at breakfast was the happiest guy I have ever met! Go enjoy Brugges"
"We have just returned from a 2 night stay for my partners 30th birthday. I booked for 3 rooms but I needed the other 2 rooms to be secret as it was a surprise with his family arriving. The staff were fantastic! I emailed in advance and they didn't mention the other 2, great customer service!! :-D The rooms were wonderful, they were set at the back of the garden area with a table and chairs out the front. The hotel was spotless, it was modern but with a cosy atmosphere. It felt personal and the staff couldn't do enough for us :-) Great selection for breakfast with a chocolate fountain!! Also a great location, it's only a short walk to the main square. I would 100% recommend this hotel! Very impressed :-)"
"Stayed here for my partner’s birthday September 2019. The hotel is a short walk from the centre, about 15mins walk from the train station. The staff were friendly on arrival and we were shown to our room. This was lovely and overlooked the gardens. The room was clean and incredibly pleasant. Breakfast the next morning was nice, an ok choice of items. Eggs available on request and they make them to your liking eg scrambled or omelette. The communal areas of the hotel such as the dining area and bar are modern and a nice place to relax in. If we visit Bruge again we would stay here and recommend the hotel without a doubt."

Heilige Geeststraat 1, Bruges, West-Flanders, Belgium
"Sadly, we were only here for one night, but we would have loved to have stayed longer. Hotel De Castillion is a charming and elegant former residence of the bishop of Bruges, perfectly located to explore the town on foot. We arrived on a grey and drizzly day, but we stepped into the warmth and coziness of the reception room and were greeted by the owner (the hotel is family run). He graciously helped orient us to the town and what it had to offer, directing us to a side table with lots of tourist pamphlets. He offered us a delicious Belgian spice cookie and taught us the difference between "speculoos" (one spice) and "speculaas" (more spices and spicier). Our immaculate room on the second floor had a raftered ceiling and was charming. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and modern. I wish we had stayed longer to have enjoyed a drink in the cozy bar or take tea in the elegant front room. There is a small courtyard that must look lovely during the warm weather months. The breakfast room looks more beautiful than in the hotel photos. Every table had sweet little tea lights or candles and flowers. The buffet spread was amazing: Scrambled eggs, rounds of hashed potatoes, American style bacon and the most delicious little sausages. You could make a Belgian waffle and top it with a variety of things. American -type dry cereals were available and a variety of mueslis. Fresh fruit, yogurts, sweet pastries, cheeses, cold meats, smoked salmon, and artisanal bread. Beverages were varied: there was a coffee/cappuccino/espresso/hot chocolate machine, tea, many different types of juices (you could also make a mimosa!), sparkling and still water and milk. Although they do have a "family room", this hotel is more of a romantic get-away for adults. In the winter months, at least, this charming property is great value for the money. We highly recommend Hotel De Castillon!"
"Wow what a great hotel. Small, personal and family owned, personal welcome and service. The decoration is exactly what you want to spend a few fairytale days in Bruges. Perfectly situated in the center, steps from the belfry and main shopping street but in a quiet area across from a church (no bars just outside). Wonderfully decorated rooms and everything is spotless clean. The owner recommended a nearby restaurant that was fabulous, not a tourist trap just steps away called de Schrujverke. We went back 2 nights. This hotel would definitely qualify as a 5 star but they don't have a swimming pool or spa so I suppose that is why they are only 4. They have huge clawfoot bathtubs though who needs a spa? The only negative point for us, since we were visiting in summer, was the absence of outdoor seating for breakfast, so we chose to have breakfast in some of the many outdoor terraces all around the hotel. Some rooms are on ground floor so ask if you want higher up. Some are on the street, which is a quiet area but on weekends there might be some foot traffic."
"We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at hotel de castillion , along with the fabulous location of the hotel ... the staff are outstanding , the attention and friendliness we received was second to none .. our room was lovely with an extremely comfy bed spacious shower unit and tea and coffee making facilities .. we had breakfast at the hotel and all I can say is amazing .. such assorted choice of fruit bowls , yogurt , warm bread rolls , orange juice eggs bacon , fresh smoked salmon selection of cheeses and meats all washed down with cava and any hot drink on request .. it was my birthday while we stayed at the hotel and the staff made the day extremely special by decorating by bed and leaving me a beautiful box of beginning chocolates 🥰🥰 this hotel was nothing short of perfect 👌🏽 "

"Excellent service, friendly receptionist, exceptionally good variety breakfast, close to everything in city centre, i.e., shopping, beach, restaurants, pleasant pool, although should be more regularly cleaned"
"We stayed in the Pantheon for the 5th or 6th time. In the past ( last visit was a few years ago) is was always top. What an unpleasant surprise this time! Arriving at the hotel, you see a paper indicating that check-in must be done in another hotel. This is unacceptable for a 4-stars hotel. Within the hotel we had the impression that we were all alone. We didn’t see anybody the first day, which gave the impression of a goast hotel. The next morning we saw the first other guests at breakfast. Breakfast itself was much better during our previous visits. Another small anti-customer-relations fact: we needed a taxi. At the reception where we did check-in, they gave use the number of the company they usually use. We called them, but they had no availabilities. I returned to the reception for an alternative, and their answer was: “go to the train station, you might find a taxi there”. Conclusion: our last visit in Pantheon."
"We stayed here on a saturday night, the room was very dark, even with the curtains open. There was also very little light in the bathroom. The floor in the room did not seem very clean. Very basic room facilities. The bathroom was nice, but the water of the shower fell on the ground because the protecting glass was way too small. On sunday morning, we were woken up by very loud noise coming from a construction site near the hotel. Also much noise coming from the hallway. Soft beds. Staff was very friendly."
