Reviews From Real Travelers
We stayed for three nights at this hotel and I cannot find fault with it. It's a walk away from all the things you'd want to see in Città Bassa (the modern part of town) and also from the bus stop or funicular that take you up to Città Alta (the historic part). There are 12 stylish rooms, bathrobes, slippers and complimentary water and sweet treats. If you have a car, there's no problem with parking as they have a garage. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Having said all that, I have to say that the highlight for me was the fabulous breakfast every morning. If the weather is nice you can have it in a pretty little courtyard garden at the back of the hotel. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel although, of course, quality like this has to be paid for.

We had the most wonderful stay in petronilla. Utta greeted us like old friends and looked after us so well. All staff were so friendly. The breakfast was fabulous. I've never tasted eggs that were so good. The location is perfect, close to lovely restaurants and shops. Our room was lovely. Very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They recommended great restaurants, booked restaurant tables and our taxi to the airport. We will defintely be back. Bergamo is a beautiful place to visit and this hotel was a wonderful bonus.

The restaurant’s meals and rooms are quite comfortable and tidy, exceptionally clean, and although it is an old meal, it is very flavorful.

Amazing short break to Milan bergamo. We stayed at the loveliest little hotel Le funi hotel. Really good location and very clean. Staff were amazing and always happy to help with anything. Trip was for my partners birthday and they brought her wine and cake on arrival. They offered advise on where to visit and assisted with local transport. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Map of the location was so helpful and saved us getting lost. Thank you for the best stay

Very pleasant and helpful staff! Wonderful room, soft queen size bed, large bathroom with the best shower experience ever! Three different shower modes :-) Highly recommended hotel in Bergamo old town, with the best view over Bergamo! Close to everything you want to experience i Bergamo old town, and easy to get to the newer part of Bergamo. Ask the concierge anything, they will help you :-)

Good points - communal areas clean and tidy. Vitoria on reception nice. Large bedroom looked like it was recently Decorated. Big bed and soft pillows. Enough electric sockets. Good shower. Soundproof, although there's always someone who has to slam their door. Breakfast good. All the usual. Bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit eggs etc. Bit manic at times. Bad points. Bedroom wasn't cleaned and bed wasn't made one day. Another day we weren't left with a spare toilet roll. Our towels were never folded and just left in a heap on the rail. Never given any milk in room for coffee. We haf a shared balcony, but if we went on it, you could see staight into another bedroom, on the corner. Thick slimy brown muck at bottom of shower. It was never clear off in the 9 nights we were there. Without effort, I cleared a bit off with a tissue. It was disgusting. Area is good and not run down considering its by the station

This is a very nice building. It is great for coming into the city via the airport bus as it stops nearby and it's a nice walk to the funicular. Round and about there are good restaurants and cafes for breakfast and it is away from the tourist hubbub in the old part of town on top of the hill. When we were there, they were revving up for renovation works, which meant we had to change rooms. The rooms are spacious but beware if you want to open your window on the entrance side of the street, it is super noisy. Would stay again...

Excellent hotel near funicular to Cite Alta (old town) of Bergamo overlooking a park area. Had a room with a balcony (but only one seat) Friendly helpful staff in all areas. Comfortable bed and good shower ( over the bath) excellent self serve breakfast. Bus stop to /from airport across the street. Train station 20 /30 min walk away. Frequent trains to Milan and Lecco (on shore of Lake Como ) for day trips. Arrived on Bank holiday and very busy …huge queues for funicular but bus just as handy for Cite Alta ….can get a 72 hour bus ticket for €12. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop restaurant but unfortunately it is open only to diners( not for a drink) and is rather expensive ! and the hotel doesn’t offer any other dining option.

We stayed for one week and found the hotel to be ideal. Great location not far from the funicular up to the old town - if the queue is too long (which we found to be the case) then take the No 1 bus which passes by frequently. An easy walk to the railway station for trains to Milan, Lake Como and Lake Garda. The airport bus stops very near the hotel and costs about 2.5 euros. Rooms were clean and all staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the same each day of our stay but there was plenty of choice - everything was fresh and tasty. No issues whatsoever with our stay and we would use the same hotel if we were lucky enough to visit Bergamo again.

Reviews From Real Travelers
The hotel is centrally located, but not easily accessible by car without the prior knowledge to use the bus lane as parking to unload. The staff mostly was very helpful and service minded. In general the hotel is outdated and reception, hall and the one elevator are lacking the luster to be considered a 4-star hotel. Hotel bar and restaurant prompt going outdoors. Breakfast itself was good. The room was very small, far too warm and where lacking real air conditioning could not be made comfortable. The room we booked via Booking looks like being furnished in the late 60-ies and is lacking an espresso machine. The bathroom, with plastic cups to try to drink out of, was cramped and without space to place much more than a toothbrush. I hope the hotel will be reviewed by the brand soon to bring it up to the standard we experienced in e.g. the BW in Modena.

We stated in Capello D'oro for a few days. For a chain style hotel it was pretty good though getting a little tired. The rooms were spacious and quiet and the service was friendly and helpful. It's biggest attraction was location, less than 10 minutes from the station (where the airport bus also stops) and near the shops and 10 mins from the funicular. It was a great base for the start of our visit. Our room was on the main road side but surprisingly quiet. If you want functional and a good locaiton this is it. We had looked at the other Best Western nearer to the station and this was clearly the better (and cheaper) choice of the two
