"My Sisters and I meet regularly for Afternoon Tea and have visited numerous venues over the years, including Foxfields. We had Afternoon in The Artisan Restaurant They have completely changed their approach to AT including gluten free ,which can be more miss than hit in the majority of venues. My sister always feels as if she is missing out , as she is gluten free, which she thought was amazing including the hot scone , rice pudding, and sticky toffee pudding and really lovely sandwiches and savouries. We also noted a vegan Afternoon Tea and also one suitable for children , which we saw at the next table ( looked gorgeous) For the rest of us (3) we had a the Afternoon Tea with fizz. When it arrived it looked delicious and tasted every bit as good. Warm crumbly scones, gorgeous little cakes, and some really lovely ‘different ‘ additions . Jack fruit spring roll ! I really didn’t fancy this but it was delicious. We completely forgot to take pictures , until we were finished. We also ordered from their extensive cocktail / mocktail menu. 3 water melon mocktails and one champagne cocktail. The service was really first class, Lots of interaction with both ladies who looked after us. The younger waitress was really friendly and efficient and The other lady assumed she was a Manager was clearly in control of this busy restaurant ( majority having Afternoon Tea- we visited on Saturday at 12pm ) We were not hurried or rushed and all of the items we couldn’t eat were packed up for us to take home. Thank you to The Chefs who prepared this yummy feast. I would highly recommend Foxfields and their new approach to Afternoon Tea. 5 out of 5 . We will definitely be back !"
"Booked a pet friendly room, which we were pleased with as it had a bedroom, bathroom and lounge with patio doors with access to outside to excercise our pet. Cost was £135 for the night including breakfast. The bed was comfortable. Energy saving lights in the bedroom over the dressing table area were too dim and the light over the mirror in the bathroom was not working. The fan in the toilet was also not working. A little dated, other than that acceptable but not a wow. Breakfast was in our opinion a little disorganised. The full english breakfast was buffet style. We were seated and shown the menu. We decided to have the full english and ordered tea for two expecting a pot of tea, but the waiter appeared with a jug of tea from which he poured us a cup each of what turned out to be lukewarm. We helped ourselves to the full english buffet which did look appetising, plates were warm and then we returned to our table, however toast was also help yourself, by the time I had used the toasting machine twice in order to get a slice that wasn't burnt, my tea was cold and also my breakfast. A waitress replaced our tea with two pots of tea thankfully. I recommend that guests choose a cooked to order breakfast in order to ensure that the food is freshly cooked and hot, and do your toast first and check that the settings havent been turned up to max by previous diners. Another small observation was that we picked up a Sunday paper from the restaurant, and asked at the reception if we could pay for it and was told that they were for the diners use and not for sale so we returned it to the dining room. As breakfast service was at an end we thought it was a bit unfriendly considering the people who left behind us had taken a paper and not offered to pay for it. Considering the price we felt the breakfast experience let it down along with the few items already mentioned. Not sure if we would return."
"Stayed at Foxfields for short break with 4 friends. Arrived lunch time, staff very friendly & efficient. Surprised how large & lovely the rooms were, picturesque views. Very comfortable with separate living area. We enjoyed a pleasant walk into nearby Whalley, which is a large, pretty village. In the evening we had an absolutely superb meal in Artisan, the hotel’s restaurant. The food was amazing & the service first class. We will definitely return to Foxfields & could not fault it whatsoever. Did not use the pool so cannot comment on this."
