Simple family-run hotel , at the 4th floor of a historic palace , courtesy and sympathetic staff , fantastic location in the center , perfect for families with children , excellent breakfast complete of everything , I don't understand people complaining, The bathroom is a little real but on holiday we need to adapt a little. We have travelled throughout the world and have finally found our home away from home. This trip was in part a celebration of our daughter’s graduation from film school and in part our own celebration of retirement. We were greeted at the door by Michel, the gracious manager, who took time to show us the hotel and then ushered us to the hotel’s private patio overlooking the Santa Maria Novella piazza and offered us drinks and refreshments while our luggage was swept away and our rooms opened. The hotel is architecturally stunning. Artistic, tasteful, blending in with the colors and style of the Santa Maria Novella itself. Each room is a treasure of refinement and delightful appointments. Someone has taken great pains to anticipate every one of the guests’ needs and wants and attended to all the details, big and small. The location is perfect: a short walk to any museum, historical destination, shopping, or restaurant but also a location itself looking onto the beautiful church and courtyard. All of this is superb, but the reason why we will be back again and again is because of the staff. Within minutes, they made us feel like family while attending to every need. An unforgettable stay that we look forward to returning to.

It is easily the best hotel we have ever stayed at and we consider our time there among the highlights of our time in Italy. After we left Florence, we found ourselves missing the hotel and the wonderful staff there--it truly felt like a home away from home. Every aspect of our stay was flawless, from the location, to the beautiful rooms and property, to the food, to the toiletries included with the room. However, it is the warm and thoughtful staff that make the Hotel Lungarno truly exceptional. From providing baby toiletries each night, to storing our stroller downstairs, to giving our son small gifts throughout our stay, the Hotel Lungarno staff welcomed our 20 month old son and it meant so much to my husband and I. If you are traveling with young children, you will not find a more wonderful choice. Every staff member was so friendly and helpful and truly went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. Hotel pulito e dignitoso distante dal centro. Diffidate quando scrivono “parcheggio incluso” perché i posti macchina saranno 7/8 e poi in strada raramente si riesce a mettere la macchina. Ho dovuto litigare quasi per mettere la macchina dietro. Servizio colazione non disponibile quando sono andato. Ho letto da qualche parte “personale simpatico e cordiale” ma evidentemente era in ferie perché non l’ho visto…anzi.
