Great home base for exploring in the Black Forest. The hotel and grounds are amazing. Be sure to make some time to walk and enjoy the park setting behind the hotel. We had room 225 which has a small balcony with 2 chairs which is in the front of the hotel and overlooks the restaurant building. All meals, except afternoon tea are served in the dining building just across from the hotel main entrance. There is also an underground walkway connecting the 2 buildings just in case the weather turns. All meals were 5-star. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want. Lunch, which we only had time for once, was more than a light lunch/snack. Afternoon tea was served in a nice room just behind the main desk. Served with finger sandwiches and small desserts. Accompanied by piano music. Great way to relax for an hour or so. And then dinner. A four-course gourmet meal every night. You can choose from 4 different menus. 2 of which change daily. Or you can mix and match between menus. Excellent!! And the staff, everyone was outstanding. Too many to mention, but everyone made you feel comfortable and helped with all your needs.

A very spiritual hotel in the Black Forest, opposite the Drip Lake, is the Black Forest, and the hotel has a kitchen in the studio. You can cook everything. Breakfast at the lakeside restaurant under the mountain, Michelin recommended restaurant.

Let’s start with the good: The apartment was exceptionally clean! Also breakfast was good! Where we found to be room for improvement was the basic kitchen amenities. First we had to get a box with kitchen supplies but the pans and pots were not clean. Also lots of things weren’t provided like a cutting board and proper knives. Also at the price point I would have expected salt/pepper to be included. Some of the staff member were less helpful than others. During check in I felt the helpfulness and friendliness were really lacking. Simple questions like where we could get groceries and such were answered with a sigh and a general wave of the hand in the supermarket’s direction. Not really helpful. Other staff member were friendly and kind though! All in all we felt that the price point did not match the experience we had. The general vibe of the apartment, the squeaky beds and kitchen lay out certainly did not translate to a €300 + price per night.

I can only assess the food here because we have only eaten here to lunch. The positive in advance: the service was very friendly and attentive. So it was noted on the bill that too much was on it and corrected from it. The dining room has a very beautiful view, but is otherwise rather old and we didn't find it comfortable. The chairs were a little dirty and otherwise you note the room the age. The selection is ok and easy. The portions are large. We had the Burger (the one also exists in Vegi variants). Here was the chill cheese and the sauce rather to sweet. With the meat we had a larger piece of sticks/bones inside. So, because of the food you do not have to keep here, although the restaurant has a great potential thanks to the location.

The Action Forest Hotel is a lovely little hotel situated perfectly for both the train station and Titisee town centre. The hotel staff are very friendly, and welcoming. The rooms and hotel in general are spotlessly clean. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of variety. All in all it is the perfect base for your adventure holiday.
