United Nations Crescent, Gigiri, Nairobi, Kenya
"I've stayed at a few Nairobi hotels over the years as I visit for work and Magna has to be one of my favourites. You get a lot more for a lot less money than you'd pay elsewhere in the city. The rooms are huge (I think it rivals my 1 bedroom apartment) and tastefully decorated with hardwood floors and traditionally inspired rugs. The king size bed is very comfortable, and there's also a sectional sofa and large desk area in each room. The bathroom is spacious and modern, with both a tub and rainwater head shower. Pro tip - ask for a room with a balcony! A decent breakfast is included - there's a range of hot dishes, cereal, yogurt, cheese and fruit, and the chef will customize eggs for you. It's also right across from Village Market mall which has a number of restaurants (both sit down and food court) in case you want to mix things up. However, what really sets Magna apart is the service, the staff here are incredible. Warm, welcoming, and attentive, staff often went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable (without us even asking). Recommended."
"I stayed at the Magna Suites Nairobi for five days, six nights in February 2020 for a work trip. The hotel is conveniently located near Village Market Mall, and was within easy distance of professional meetings. I always felt safe at the hotel, they have professional security colleagues in place. The staff were always very accommodating, even when my partner arrived at 5:00 AM, they helped us check in and assisted with our luggage, as well as called us to make sure that we didn't miss breakfast. The dining room staff were a particular highlight. Michael's food was always delicious, and he learned what my partner and I liked to eat. Hilda's baked goods were a treat. Kennedy learned our habits, where we liked to eat, how we liked our coffee, and always made us feel comfortable and attended too during our stay. They are all excellent professionals, and if I'm ever lucky enough to return to Nairobi, I wouldn't hesitate to book another stay."
"I stayed for three nights at the Magna Hotel and I could highly recommend it. It's located quite far from the city centre; yet it's ideal for those coming for United Nations-related work as was my case. The hotel is located in the upscale United Nations Crescent area, is within walking distance from the UN and several key embassies (so it's safe), and it's also at close proximity to the Village Market which holds the not-to-be-missed Masai Market each Friday. And it's five minutes away from the Serenity Spa: a fantastic beauty "one-stop-shop"! The staff at the hotel are incredibly polite, helpful and service-minded. The rooms are clean and spacious; mine even had a little private garden. The breakfast buffet is delicious, and the two dinners I had there did not disappoint. And the rooftop pool is small but nice. In short, I've found my hotel in Nairobi, and I know where I will be staying each time I go there."
