"Very good and worth living, the hotel garden is huge and beautiful, the only inconvenience is that it is not convenient to think about water sports by the lake."
"It's a pity that I can only like 5 stars, I am willing to give it 10 stars!"

"The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the Trevi Fountain and various squares. I have a certain single room on the roof. I also brought a rooftop. It feels very comfortable. The breakfast feels average. But you can eat outside in Rome. It is worth a trip to book this hotel. Help with luggage"

"We stayed here for 5 nights in August and it was very enjoyable. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and we had a large terrace overlooking the lake as did our 3 daughters (rooms 55 and 59). The pool is great and has lots of large inflatables to lie/play on. There’s a small bar and they serve drinks / lunch etc. They didn’t seem to bring towels to the pool until about 10.30am and then only about 10 at a time so the poor waiter had to keep running back and forth. But the pool was never really busy and it’s a stunning setting above the main road with amazing views over the lake. The hotel has some e-bikes you can borrow and a tennis court as well as spa (currently closed due to COVID) and small gym. The gym is in an old fashioned room but has a few Nautilus machines along with free weights but there’s little air con to speak of and the hotel hasn’t worked out a system of cleaning post-booking. I recommend asking for water in the gym - sometimes we got it and sometimes we didn’t. A bit hit and miss. Food was good but we only had a few lunches and no dinners at the hotel. They were good at catering for our vegan and vegetarians. Breakfast on the terrace is beautiful as the view’s amazing. There’s no buffet currently (lots of reviews raved about the buffet so don’t go for that). I don’t think they have enough staff - we regularly waited 20 mins to be given menus and I found the main waiter a little rude. The staff would bring bread in a basket but no plates until they noticed we were buttering and eating the bread directly on the tablecloth. I didn’t like to ask for a second cup of coffee as it seemed a real imposition and would take another 15 minutes. I’d say the attitude of the breakfast staff was the only downside to the hotel. Location-wise the hotel’s in a good position near Salò where there are loads of restaurants and there are also some great restaurants in the hills above the hotel (they recommended Il Riolet and it was great). We did day trips to Sirmione and also to Limone and Lago di Tenno as well as an afternoon at the beach club close by called Rimbalzello where you can jump straight into the lake and get food/drinks etc. The area is beautiful and can highly recommend a visit. "
"We used to visit regularly in the eighties and nineties. It’s quite a decision to return after such a long gap. However the Villa del Sogno is still near perfect. The trees are taller the view of the lake is beyond comparison. The swimming pool has been enlarged and has a small bar cafe. Our room had been recently refurbished in a traditional style. The staff are most attentive and many now speak good English. The food on the half board menu is traditional but not old fashioned and very tasty. There is also an a la Carte menu available. The wine list is well chosen and contains a few hidden jewels. The wine is served with all due deference by the ever present head waiter Florin. Dining on the terrace here is one of life’s greatest pleasures."
"We spent a few days here with the goal of relaxing a bit after weeks of travel. Our suite was comfortable and beautifully decorated, but the gorgeous view of the lake was the real highlight. We had our meals on the terrace and spent a lot of time by the pool. As others have mentioned, the hotel is situated up above the road, but we were able to catch the shuttle to the ferry terminal and find a taxi back without issue. The staff is welcoming and everything we needed had already been taken care of. We would definitely return another time."

"Myself and my wife have just returned from a perfect 3 days at the Piccola Vela. We received a free upgrade to a suite as it was our anniversary and enjoyed a lovely, spacious room facing onto the lake. What a wonderful hotel and staff! Every detail was perfection, the hotel is elegant, spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished in lovely, well manicured grounds. The breakfast was extensive and tasty and run until 11am, so no rush required. Valter and the charming Benjamin on front desk could not have been more helpful, friendly or professional. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of town and has ample free parking. The two hotel pools were obviously too cold to use but the hotel has a lovely jacuzzi on the roof with amazing views across the lake. We enjoyed this every night with a glass of Prosecco! This was off season so it was very quiet, which was just what we wanted. The Christmas markets were in full swing and the town of Desanzano was beautifully illuminated for Christmas. We enjoyed fabulous weather, cold but clear blue skies and sunshine, so took walks around Sirmione nearby (stunning) and a lovely walk from Lazise to Garda via Bordalino along the beautiful lakeside, highly recommended and possibly the highlight of our time there. The Aquaria Spa in Sirmione is NOT to be missed. Verona was a 40 minute drive away and is well worth a visit with a guided tour. The glowing Tripadvisor reviews for the Piccola Vella are well deserved, this was one of the nicest hotels and experiences we have ever enjoyed. It was a few days never to be forgotten, It is not a question of if we return but when. Thank you Piccola."
"We had a wonderful stay here in September. The location is great as it’s easy to walk to the ferries and all the restaurants. You can also walk to the station if you are planning to see Verona or Venice. The hotel was beautiful and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We parked easily and were helped with all of our luggage (there was a lot of it!). The rooms were lovely, spacious, clean, extremely comfortable beds, stunning bathrooms and great selection of toiletries. The swimming pools and grounds were great, as someone that likes a warmer pool the heated pool was a dream and the lemon and olive trees were lovely. The roof terrace was wonderful and relaxing with stunning views. The staff were extremely helpful, advising us on routes and plans, booking taxis and memorising our breakfast drinks, we couldn’t fault them. If we had to be really picky the only improvements we would suggest is a better hairdryer (if you have long hair it took a long time to dry) and it took us a long time to run a bath when we were trying to add hot water. We did love the bathroom though!"
"We had 3 nights at Piccola Vela and from the first moment we arrived everything was just perfect. All the staff very helpful and courteous, we were helped to our room which was spacious and spotlessly clean, very large double bed and great size shower room with plenty fluffy towels. We had a small balcony with views of the lake. Very quiet on a night and a good nights sleep is almost guaranteed. Breakfast had a very good selection of hot and cold items and was available until 11AM so nothing was a rush.. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre. If you have a car there is plenty parking. A roof top terrace affords great views over the lake complete with hot tub if you want . Only down side was the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room, although the reception staff did provide us with some hot water one night when we came back and we did our own thing (we always take some tea bags and coffee mate with us on holiday just in case!!). A bit expensive but well worth it."

"Our third visit to Lake Garda having booked in December 2019 prior to Covid. We went to Colour Hotel in Bardolino for first week and enjoyed second week at Bellariva Hotel. Travelled on first Ryanair flight out from Stansted UK which was experience wearing face masks and passing through near deserted airport. Flight was fast and direct due to few planes in air. Paid upfront for early discount and on eventual arrival disappointed to find our room was dark and gloomy overlooking Car Park. Spoke to Julie and arranged for a discounted upgrade to a better room with view of Lake. Thereafter the stay was excellent as befitting a 5 star hotel. Safety and sanitisation was a major concern due to Covid and staff were always on the ball wearing masks as we did when inside. Hotel was operating at maybe 30 percent capacity whilst many other hotels were shut. We did not have transport and used TukTuks and taxis at reasonable rates to visit nearby Salo and Gargano. Both these resorts again bearing brunt of few tourists. Electric bikes at hotel were tried out and there were other good facilities. Beds very comfortable and cleaning excellent. Easy distancing around swimming pool and access to lake where many swam. Beautiful views and it was a fabulous stay, expensive but worth it Compared to Bardolino which was a busy vibrant resort this was the opposite for quiet elegance and pampering."
"We checked into Bellariva after 4 days of hiking in the Dolomites and it was such a relaxing experience. The hotel staff are warm and helpful and spoke good English. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean (excellent shower pressure) and most have at least partial views of the lake. The grounds are lovely and well manicured. We spent most of the time lounging by the pool overlooking the lake. There’s also a private dock so you can swim in the lake as well. The food is very good for hotel food, though we would highly recommend you make a reservation at Lido 84 for dinner one night as it is right down the street and is truly excellent. The breakfast spread is generous with a lot of variety. Our only complaint was that the A/C was not very strong and it happened to be quite warm when we there there. For comparison, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Fasano last time we were in Garda (in June 2016) and we prefer Bellariva as the service and food was much better and the rooms more modern / renovated. Fasano was also a bit stuffier and more “old world” style. "
"My husband and I booked this hotel for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon tour of Northern Italy. The hotel had been highly recommend by close friends, who also stayed here during there honeymoon 8 years ago. Upon arrival the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and this continued throughout our stay. We booked a 1 hour private boat tour, which took us around Lake Garda (€140) which was arranged by the hotel. This was fantastic and well worth doing. There is also the ability to book a “Tuk Tuk” at reception (€10 each way) to take you to the nearby areas where there are numerous other restaurants (or you can walk, approx 20 minutes in either direction to reach them) The bar and restaurant at the hotel are both exceptional, from breakfast, to lunch or dinner. The pool area is beautiful, as was our room, which had a fabulous view from the balcony across the gardens and onto the lake. We would highly recommend staying at the Bellariva Hotel, and we will most certainly be back at some stage! "

"Last month my partner and I stayed for 3 nights before continuing on to Verona. We both travel alot for work but were absolutely blown away by this hotel. It was paradise. We had a beautiful lake view room with a large balcony/terrace that had 2 chairs, a table and a sun umbrella, which overlooked the terrace restaurant. One of my favourite memories was sitting on the balcony one evening listening to the pianist playing just below. The staff are all incredibly friendly and speak at least 3 languages, Italian, German and English. Nothing was ever too much trouble, only small point - the service at breakfast was a little slow. They could have cleared the dirty plates quicker. The room was lovely with lots of towels, toiletries, flip flops to wear and a wicker bag to use poolside, which you could purchase. Fresh still and sparkling water was put in the fridge every day, one day it wasn't and we mentioned it to reception, within ten minutes it had been rectified with an apology. We ate in the fish restaurant one evening, beautiful food and service, and then the next evening we ate in the recommended restaurant nearby and were taken and picked up by the hotel VW Bus which was so much fun. Again the food was exquisite. Breakfast was plentiful and there was something for everyone. Lake Garda is a stunning place to visit and this hotel is pure luxury. I would recommend it to anyone and hope to return again. "
"From the wonderful welcome with complimentary welcome drinks served on the terrace to the ice cold bottles on water for our onward journey, absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and approachable staff at this 5 star hotel. The setting is unbeatable and everything about it oozes old world charm and total luxury with modern cleanliness and amenities thrown in. Writing this review reluctantly as it’s too good to share!"
"We booked a spacious suite with a splendid direct view of the Garda lake. The service of the personnel was indeed personal ; excellent. The gastronomic restaurant was outstanding. We used the Spa services several times; also of high standard. The reception was very helpful and booked, taxis, other restaurants and booked a private boat tour for us which collected us right in front of the hotel. Lifetime experience for 8 days stay."
